High-resolution plane-wave decomposition in an auditorium using a dual-radius scanning spherical microphone array 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The spatial and temporal distribution of early reflections in an auditorium is considered important for sound perception. Previous studies presented measurement and analysis methods based on spherical microphone arrays and plane-wave decomposition that could provide information on the direction and time of arrival of early reflections. This paper presents recent results of room acoustics analysis based on a spherical microphone array, which employs high spherical harmonics order for improved spatial resolution, and a dual-radius spherical measurement array to avoid ill-conditioning at the null frequencies of the spherical Bessel function. Spatial-temporal analysis is performed to produce directional impulse responses, while analysis based on the windowed Fourier transform is employed to detect direction of arrival of individual reflections at selected frequencies. Experimental results of sound-field analysis in a real auditorium are also presented. 相似文献

We provide what is to our knowledge the first experimental evidence that multiple filamentation (MF) of ultra-short pulses can be induced by input beam ellipticity. Unlike noise-induced MF, which results in complete beam breakup, the MF pattern induced by small input beam ellipticity appears as a result of nucleation of annular rings surrounding the central filament. Moreover, our experiments show that input beam ellipticity can dominate the effect of noise (transverse modulational instability), giving rise to predictable and highly reproducible MF patterns. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of spectral-cue audibility on the recognition of stop consonants in normal-hearing and hearing-impaired adults. Subjects identified six synthetic CV speech tokens in a closed-set response task. Each syllable differed only in the initial 40-ms consonant portion of the stimulus. In order to relate performance to spectral-cue audibility, the initial 40 ms of each CV were analyzed via FFT and the resulting spectral array was passed through a sliding-filter model of the human auditory system to account for logarithmic representation of frequency and the summation of stimulus energy within critical bands. This allowed the spectral data to be displayed in comparison to a subject's sensitivity thresholds. For normal-hearing subjects, an orderly function relating the percentage of audible stimulus to recognition performance was found, with perfect discrimination performance occurring when the bulk of the stimulus spectrum was presented at suprathreshold levels. For the hearing-impaired subjects, however, it was found in many instances that suprathreshold presentation of stop-consonant spectral cues did not yield recognition equivalent to that found for the normal-hearing subjects. These results demonstrate that while the audibility of individual stop consonants is an important factor influencing recognition performance in hearing-impaired subjects, it is not always sufficient to explain the effects of sensorineural hearing loss. 相似文献

PSN is a fast forward permutation if for each m the computational complexity of evaluating Pm(x) is small independently of m and x. Naor and Reingold constructed fast forward pseudorandom cycluses and involutions. By studying the evolution of permutation graphs, we prove that the number of queries needed to distinguish a random cyclus from a random permutation in SN is Θ(N) if one does not use queries of the form Pm(x), but is only Θ(1) if one is allowed to make such queries. We construct fast forward permutations which are indistinguishable from random permutations even when queries of the form Pm(x) are allowed. This is done by introducing an efficient method to sample the cycle structure of a random permutation, which in turn solves an open problem of Naor and Reingold. 相似文献

Forward masking, as measured behaviorally, is defined as an increase in a signal's detection threshold resulting from a preceding masker. Previously, forward masking in the auditory nerve has been measured as a reduction in the neural response to a signal when preceded by a masker. However, detection threshold depends on both the magnitude of the response to the signal and the variance of the response. Thus changes in detectability cannot be inferred from response reduction alone. Relkin and Pelli (1987) have described a two-interval forced-choice procedure that may be used to measure the threshold for the detection of a probe signal in recordings of spike counts in single auditory neurons. These methods have been used to study the forward masking of characteristic frequency probe tones by characteristic frequency maskers as masker intensity was varied. Although the masker does reduce the detectability of the probe tone, it was found that the threshold shifts are much less than those observed behaviorally, particularly for intense maskers. In part, the small threshold shifts can be attributed to the reduction in response variance following the masker, which is the result of the adaptation of spontaneous activity. These results imply that behavioral forward masking must result from suboptimal processing of spike counts from auditory neurons at a location central to the auditory nerve. 相似文献

We present a single-frequency, single-mode, plane-polarized ytterbium-doped all-fiber master oscillator power amplifier source at 1060 nm generating 264 W of continuous-wave output power. The final-stage amplifier operated with a high gain of 19 dB and a high conversion efficiency of 68%. There was no evidence of rollover from stimulated Brillouin scattering even at the highest output power, and the maximum output was limited only by the available pump power. 相似文献

The helium energy spectrum in Martian orbit has been observed by the MARIE charged particle spectrometer aboard the 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft. The orbital data were taken from March 13, 2002 to October 28, 2003, at which time a very intense Solar Particle Event caused a loss of communication between the instrument and the spacecraft. The silicon detector stack in MARIE is optimized for the detection of protons and helium in the energy range below , which typically includes almost all of the flux during SPEs. This also makes MARIE an efficient detector for GCR helium in the energy range of 50–. We will present the first fully normalized flux results from MARIE, using helium ions in this energy range. 相似文献

Electron beams with the lowest, normalized transverse emittance recorded so far were produced and confirmed in single-bunch-mode operation of the Accelerator Test Facility at KEK. We established a tuning method of the damping ring which achieves a small vertical dispersion and small x-y orbit coupling. The vertical emittance was less than 1% of the horizontal emittance. At the zero-intensity limit, the vertical normalized emittance was less than 2.8 x 10(-8) rad m at beam energy 1.3 GeV. At high intensity, strong effects of intrabeam scattering were observed, which had been expected in view of the extremely high particle density due to the small transverse emittance. 相似文献
