The magnetic moment of the 344 keV level of 152Gd was determined from measurements of the rotations of the angular correlations of γ-γ cascades involving this level in the magnetic hyperfine field of Gd metal. The value found for gτ is (2.43±0.22)·10−11 sec.. Taking τ = (7.6±1.3)·10−11 sec, a value of 0.32±0.06 was derived for the gyromagnetic ratio of this level.  相似文献

A(2)B(2)-type push-pull porphyrins with a strong intramolecular dipole moment have been prepared via Heck and Suzuki coupling reactions as novel materials for use in nonlinear optics (NLO); they display saturable (SA) and reverse saturable absorption (RSA) properties at 532 nm and their nonlinear optical response is characterized by RSA occurring at lower intensity levels whereas the onset of SA prevails at higher levels.  相似文献

Abstract— The cleavage of phosphodiester bonds in DNA exposed to high intensity UV laser pulses in aerated aqueous solution has been investigated using a krypton fluoride excimer laser (248 nm) and bacterial plasmid DNA. The dependence of strand breakage on fluence and intensity has been studied in detail and shows that the process is non-linear with respect to intensity. The relationship between the quantum yield for strand breakage and intensity shows that the strand breakage reaction involves two-photon excitation of DNA bases. The quantum yield rises with intensity from a lower value of 7 times 10-5 until a maximum value of 4.5 times 10-4 is attained at intensities of 1011 W m-2 and above. This value is approximately fifty-fold higher than the quantum yield for strand breakage induced by exposure to low density UV irradiation (254 nm, 12 W m-2). DNA sequencing experiments have shown that strand breakage occurs by the specific cleavage of the phosphodiester bond which lies immediately 3' to guanine residues in the DNA, leaving some alkali-labile remnant attached to the terminal phosphate. A mechanism for DNA strand breakage which involves the generation of guanine radical cations is proposed.  相似文献

An analytical expression for calculating the signal output power of an optical parametric generator (OPG) configuration was developed. The model is based on Heisenberg equations in space and radiation mode theory. A simple analytical expression can be obtained by assuming that all modes within the gain bandwidth of the nonlinear crystal have the same gain and the same interaction length. Another derivation considers the gain and interaction length of each individual mode. The model predictions are in excellent agreement with the measured signal power of OPGs based on 25- and 35-mm periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal (with effective quadratic nonlinearity of ∼14.5 pm/V) and 47-mm periodically poled LiTaO3 crystal (with effective quadratic nonlinearity of ∼9 pm/V). In addition, a comparison was made between the summation over discrete modes approach and the traditional approach of continuous integration over the beam parameters and pump frequency. We have found that the first approach, which is developed in this paper, predicts more accurately the output power of the OPG.  相似文献

We report the experimental realization of a new type of optical parametric oscillator in which oscillation is achieved by polarization rotation in a linear retarder, followed by nonlinear polarization mixing. The mixing is performed by a type II degenerate parametric downconversion in a periodically poled KTP crystal pumped by a 1064 nm pulsed Nd:YAG pump. A single, linearly polarized beam, precisely at the degenerate wavelength is generated. The output spectrum has a narrow linewidth (below the instrumentation bandwidth of 1 nm) and is highly stable with respect to variations in the crystal temperature.  相似文献
