Luminescence decay times of CaWO4 single crystals after excitation with UV-light and electrons and thermoluminescence after irradiation with X-rays and electrons have been investigated. Various end-substituted distyrylbenzenes have been synthesized to serve as guest molecules in inclusion compounds to promote efficient energy transport along one-dimensional channels. Their optical and photophysical properties have been characterized at both experimental and theoretical levels. All molecules display a large transition dipole moment between the ground state and lowest excited state and hence a short radiative lifetime (on the order of 1-2 ns). They also exhibit a large spectral overlap between the emission and absorption spectra, which enables efficient energy transport between molecules arranged in a head-to-tail configuration in nanochannels. Hopping rates on the order of 10(12) s(-1) are calculated at a full quantum-chemical level; this is much larger than the radiative lifetimes and opens the way for energy migration over large distances. Changes in the nature of the terminal substituents are found to modulate the optical properties weakly but to impact significantly the energy transfer rates. 相似文献

We report measurements of the magnetic penetration depth lambda(T) in high-quality CePt3Si samples down to 0.049 K. We observe a linear temperature dependence below T approximately equal to 0.16Tc, which is interpreted as evidence for line nodes in the energy gap of the low-temperature phase of this material. A kink in lambda(T) at about 0.53 K may be associated with the second superconducting transition recently reported. The results are discussed in terms of the symmetry of the superconducting order parameter. 相似文献

The magnetic and galvanomagnetic properties of single crystals of the new diluted magnetic semiconductor p-Sb2?xCrxTe3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.02) have been studied in the temperature range 1.7–300 K. A ferromagnetic phase with the Curie temperature Tc ≈ 5.8 K and the maximum Cr content x = 0.0215 has been revealed. The easy magnetization axis is parallel to the C3 crystallographic axis. In the presence of strong magnetic fields, the Shubnikov-de Haas effect has been observed. Analysis of this effect shows that doping with chrome reduces the concentration of holes. Negative magnetoresistance and the anomalous Hall effect are observed at liquid helium temperature. 相似文献

The singlet-triplet splitting of geminate polaron pairs in a ladder-type conjugated polymer has been studied by the thermally stimulated luminescence technique. The energy gap separating the singlet and triplet states of the geminate pairs is measured to be in the range of 3-6 meV, depending on the polymer morphology. The results of correlated quantum-chemical calculations on a long ladder-type oligomer are fully consistent with the observed values of the geminate polaron pair singlet-triplet gap. Such low splitting values have important implications for the spin-dependent exciton formation in conjugated polymers. 相似文献
