Several biophysical properties of four synthetic archaeal phospholipids [one polyprenyl macrocyclic lipid A and three polyprenyl double-chain lipids (B, C, D) bearing zero, one or four double bonds in each chain] were studied using differential scanning calorimetry, electron and optical microscopies, stopped-flow/light scattering and solid-state 2H-NMR techniques. These phospholipids gave a variety of self-organized structures in water, in particular vesicles and tubules. These assemblies change in response to simple thermal convection. Some specific membrane properties of these archaeal phospholipids were observed: They are in a liquid-crystalline state over a wide temperature range; the dynamics of their polyprenyl chains is higher than that of n-acyl chains; the water permeability of the membranes is lower than that of n-acyl phospholipid membranes. It was also found that macrocyclization remarkably improves the barrier properties to water and the membrane stability. This may be related to the adaptation of Methanococcus jannaschii to the extreme conditions of the deep-sea hydrothermal vents.  相似文献

We demonstrate an efficient strategy to anchor poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) onto zinc oxide (ZnO) surfaces. Synthesis of a novel triethoxysilane‐terminated regioregular P3HT is herein reported and supported by thorough characterization. Three triethoxysilane‐terminated P3HTs of different molar masses were prepared via a hydrosilylation reaction from allyl‐terminated P3HT. MALDI‐TOF and 1H NMR were performed to characterize the polymer and show that around 80% of the chains are end‐functionalized. These polymers were then grafted onto the ZnO nanorods to create a macromolecular self‐assembled monolayer. This versatile technique could be subsequently applied to different metal oxide surfaces, such as silicon, titanium, or indium‐tin oxide, and represents a new one‐pot strategy based on triethoxysilane coupling reaction. Importantly, the influence of the molar mass on the grafting density and the polymer shell thickness was studied via thermo gravimetric analysis and transmission electron microscopy. The optical properties of the hybrid materials were determined by UV–visible absorption and photoluminescence to show a quenching effect of P3HT fluorescence by ZnO when grafted. This electronic transfer associated with an improved miscibility of the ZnO@P3HT, makes these hybrid materials suitable candidates for photovoltaic applications. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. The functionalization of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles by poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) brush is completed by the combination of a mussel inspired biomimetic anchoring group and Huisgen cyclo‐addition “click chemistry.” Herein, the direct coupling of an azide modified catechol derivative with an alkyne end‐functionalized P3HT is described. This macromolecular binding agent is used to access core@corona ZnO@P3HT with a stable and homogeneous conjugated organic corona. Preliminary photoluminescence measurement proves an efficient electron transfer from the donor P3HT to the acceptor ZnO nanoparticles upon grafting, thus demonstrating the potential of such a combination in organic electronics.

Gold(I)‐polyoxometalate hybrid complexes 1 – 4 ([PPh3AuMeCN]xH4?xSiW12O40, x=1–4) were synthesized and characterized. The structure of the primary gold(I)–polyoxometalate 1 (x=1) was fully ascertained by XRD, FTIR, 31P and 29Si magic‐angle spinning (MAS) NMR, mass spectroscopy, and SEM–energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) techniques. Moreover, this complex exhibited better catalytic activity and selectivity compared with standard, homogeneous, gold catalysts in the new rearrangement of propargylic gem‐diesters.  相似文献

A collaborative study on the robustness and portability of a capillary electrophoresis‐mass spectrometry method for peptide mapping was performed by an international team, consisting of 13 independent laboratories from academia and industry. All participants used the same batch of samples, reagents and coated capillaries to run their assays, whereas they utilized the capillary electrophoresis‐mass spectrometry equipment available in their laboratories. The equipment used varied in model, type and instrument manufacturer. Furthermore, different types of sheath‐flow capillary electrophoresis–mass spectrometry interfaces were used. Migration time, peak height and peak area of ten representative target peptides of trypsin‐digested bovine serum albumin were determined by every laboratory on two consecutive days. The data were critically evaluated to identify outliers and final values for means, repeatability (precision within a laboratory) and reproducibility (precision between laboratories) were established. For relative migration time the repeatability was between 0.05 and 0.18% RSD and the reproducibility between 0.14 and 1.3% RSD. For relative peak area repeatability and reproducibility values obtained were 3–12 and 9–29% RSD, respectively. These results demonstrate that capillary electrophoresis‐mass spectrometry is robust enough to allow a method transfer across multiple laboratories and should promote a more widespread use of peptide mapping and other capillary electrophoresis‐mass spectrometry applications in biopharmaceutical analysis and related fields.  相似文献

A simple and rapid capillary electrophoresis with diode array detection method was developed for sepia ink identification in ancient graphic documents.Separation was performed in a fused-silica capillary (64.5 cm length, 50 μm i.d.). The running buffer was 20 mM sodium tetraborate solution, pH 9.2. The applied potential was 25 kV, temperature 25 °C and detection was at 220 nm. An appropriate extraction procedure was applied for the take and treatment of sample from the reference substances and ancient graphic documents. This method was successfully applied to the collection of drawings and maps from the Royal Chancellery Archives of Granada (Spain).  相似文献

A frequent observation in service systems with queues in parallel is that customers in other queues tend to be served faster than those in one’s own queue. This paper quantifies the probability that one’s service would have started earlier if one had joined another queue than the queue that was actually chosen, for exponential multiserver systems with queues in parallel in which customers join one of the shortest queues upon arrival and in which jockeying is not possible.  相似文献

We continue the study of G. Castelnuovo on the group of birational transformations of the complex plane that fix each point of a curve of genus > 1 ; we use adjoint linear system of the curve as Castelnuovo does. We prove that these groups are abelian, and that these are either finite, of order 2 or 3, or conjuguate to a subgroup of the de Jonquières group.
