The optimum conditions for the oxidation of bromide to bromate by peroxodisulphate at 120 degrees as well as for the decomposition of the excess of oxidant have been determined. The predicted advantages of this oxidizing agent, viz. minimal blanks and destruction of small amounts of interfering organic matter and reducing substances, were confirmed. The bromate was determined iodometrically either by titration with thiosulphate or by spectrophotometry in absence of oxygen at 355 nm. The titrimetric finish applied to 0.8-8 micromole of bromide gave a mean yield of 100.0%, s = 6 nmole. The spectrophotometric finish applied to 0.05-0.25 micromole of bromide gave a mean yield of 98.9%, s = 1.1 nmole. Interfering amounts of iodide present in the sample and oxidized to iodate can be corrected for by making use of the pH-dependence of the reaction of iodide with bromate and iodate. 相似文献

Normal-phase high-performance liquid chromatograms of retinal, retinol and retinyl palmitate isomers using n-heptane-tert.-butyl methyl ether as mobile phase are presented. Methods for the synthesis of various isomers of these retinoids are described. This enables one to produce standard chromatograms and to select various isomers for cochromatography and the identification of the various peaks under study. Assignment of the peaks is based on chromatograms published previously in this journal. For the main isomers it is possible to get baseline separation of the commonly occurring isomeric forms in a reasonably short analysis time. 相似文献

Addition of lithiated methoxyallene to pivalonitrile afforded after aqueous workup the expected iminoallene 1 in excellent yield. Treatment of this intermediate with silver nitrate accomplished the desired cyclization to the electron-rich pyrrole derivative 2 in moderate yield. Surprisingly, trifluoroacetic acid converted iminoallene 1 to a mixture of enamide 3 and trifluoromethyl-substituted pyridinol 4 (together with its tautomer 5). A plausible mechanism proposed for this intriguing transformation involves addition of trifluoroacetate to the central allene carbon atom of an allenyl iminium intermediate as crucial step. Enamide 3 is converted to pyridinol 4 by an intramolecular aldol-type process. A practical direct synthesis of trifluoromethyl-substituted pyridinols 4, 10, 11, and 12 starting from typical nitriles and methoxyallene was established. Pyridinol 10 shows an interesting crystal packing with three molecules in the elementary cell and a remarkable helical supramolecular arrangement. Trifluoromethyl-substituted pyridinol 4 was converted to the corresponding pyridyl nonaflate 13, which is an excellent precursor for palladium-catalyzed reactions leading to pyridine derivatives 14-16 in good to excellent yields. The new synthesis of trifluoromethyl-substituted pyridines disclosed here demonstrates a novel reactivity pattern of lithiated methoxyallene which is incorporated into the products as the unusual tripolar synthon B. 相似文献

The sorption characteristics of insolubilized humic acid (IHA) were investigated for Ni (II) in a column arrangement. The sodium form of the IHA (INaA) was used as a solid phase. Column operations were performed with five steps and all of them were monitored continuously by a flowthrough cell-adapted UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Thus, all solid-phase extraction (SPE) steps were visualized by breakthrough curves and analyses progress were evaluated. However, all calculations and evaluations were focused on the atomic absorption spectrophotometric (AAS) analyses of the solutions collected during the stripping steps. There was a high correlation (r(2), 0.972) between peak area and AAS data of stripping steps. The effect of concentration and pH of the loading solution onto sorption of Ni (II) by INaA was investigated. Sorption characteristics were evaluated by using Freundlich, Langmuir, and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) adsorption isotherms, as well as by Scatchard plot analysis. Multilayer sorption was found to be agreeable for Ni (II). From the D-R isotherm the mean free energy of sorption (E) was calculated (6.65 kJ mol(-1)) and attributed to the multilayer sorption. Finally, the sorption characteristic of the INaA-Ni (II) system was compared with that of the INaA-Cu (II) system, and possible separation of two ions in a binary mixture system is discussed. 相似文献

As members of the same group in the periodic table, the industrially significant elements aluminum and gallium exhibit strong similarities in the majority of their compounds. In contrast there are significant differences in the structures of the two elemental forms: Aluminum forms a typical closest-packed metallic structure whereas gallium demonstrates a diversity of molecular bonding principles in its seven structural modifications. It can therefore be expected that differences between Al and Ga compounds will arise when, as for the elemental forms, many metal-metal bonds are formed. To synthesize such cluster compounds, we have developed the following synthesis procedure: Starting from gaseous monohalides at around 1000 degrees C, metastable solutions are generated from which the elements ultimately precipitate by means of a disproportionation reaction at room temperature. On the way to the elemental forms, molecular Al and Ga cluster compounds can be obtained by selection of suitable ligands (protecting groups), in which a core of Al or Ga atoms are protected from the formation of the solid element by a ligand shell. Since the arrangement of atoms in such clusters corresponds to that in the elements, we have designated these clusters as metalloid or elementoid. In accordance with the Greek word [see text] (ideal, prototype), the atomic arrangement in metalloid clusters represents the prototypic or ideal atomic arrangement in the elements at the molecular level. The largest clusters of this type contain 77 Al or 84 Ga atoms and have diameters of up to two nanometers. They hold the world record with respect to the naked metal-atom core for structurally characterized metalloid clusters. 相似文献

A procedure for optimization of molecular geometries is presented, combining ab initio calculations with vibrational molecular data from spectroscopy or empirical force fields. Theoretical cartesian forces are transformed to vibrational normal coordinate forces from which geometry increments are calculated.
