A Correlation Among Orthogonality Relation,Variational Principle and Perturbation Theory

It is observed that variationally calculated wavefunctions do not satisfy orthogonality relation when tested for the potentials like anharmonic oscillator and deviated hydrogen atom type. A new approach is suggested using quasi-states only to correlate between variationally calculated wavefunctions and orthogonality relation using perturbation theory considering the anharmonic oscillator example. Analytically expression for energy levels of the anharmonic oscillator are calculated up to the second order. A test for convergency of the perturbation theory is also discussed.     

A Short Synthesis of Tetrahydrobenzisoindolines

A simple two-step method has been developed for the synthesis of a tetrahydrobenzisoindoline ring system involving an efficient [3+2]cycloaddition of azomethine ylide to an unactivated double bond.     

Stereoselective Total Synthesis of Crassalactone A,a Natural Cytotoxic Styryl Lactone

A stereoselective total synthesis of a naturally occurring cytotoxic styryl lactone, crassalactone A ( 1 ), has been accomplished. The synthesis involves (?)‐diisopropyl D ‐tartrate as the starting material, and the stereoselective additions of Grignard reagent and MeNO₂ to two chiral aldehyde intermediates as the key steps.

An efficient and convenient protocol for the synthesis of quinoxalines and dihydropyrazines via cyclization-oxidation processes using HClO4·SiO2 as a heterogeneous recyclable catalyst

A convenient and straightforward method has been developed for the synthesis of quinoxalines and dihydropyrazines (DHPs) using α-bromo ketones and 1,2-diamines in the presence of silica supported perchloric acid (HClO₄·SiO₂) at room temperature. The quinoxalines and DHPs were presumably formed via cyclization-oxidation. The catalyst works under heterogeneous conditions and can be recycled.     

α-Amido sulfones: novel substrates for the practical and efficient aza-Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction under neat conditions

α-Amido sulfones undergo aza-Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction efficiently with alkyl acrylates under neat conditions in the presence of DABCO at room temperature. These sulfones generate aryl imines in the presence of DABCO and form the corresponding adducts in high yields (85-94%) within 9-12 h.     

A Benzofuranoid and Two Clerodane Diterpenoids from Pulicaria wightiana

Methyl 5‐formyl‐1‐benzofuran‐6‐carboxylate ( 1 ) and the two clerodane diterpenes, methyl 6‐oxocleroda‐3,13‐dien‐15,16‐olid‐18‐oate ( 2 ) and 2β‐(2‐methylbutanoyl)cleroda‐3,13‐dien‐15,16‐olid‐18‐oic acid ( 3 ), together with 15 known compounds, were isolated from the aerial parts of Pulicaria wightiana. The structures of the new compounds 1, 2 , and 3 were established by spectroscopic (mainly 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR) methods.     

Radiation from relativistic positrons channeled in single crystals

The characteristic of the radiation emitted from relativistic positrons channelled between the major planes in single crystal have been calculated. The sharp peaks of the emission spectrum in the keV region is predicted correctly and is compared with previous calculations.
