Energy dependence of the fast fragment of the target nucleus in high energy hadron-nucleus interaction

This paper presents an extensive study on the dependence of the mean number of the fast fragment of the target nucleus n _g on the incident beam energy in proton-nucleus interaction in emulsion in the range 6·2E ₀400 GeV/c. It has been observed that n _g decreases in the range 6·2E ₀200 GeV/c, then increases and attains an approximately steady value up to 400 GeV/c. It is very difficult to explain this behaviour with the help of the existing nuclear production models.The author would like to thank Prof A. J. Herz (CERN), Prof. K. D. Convenient and efficient stereoselective synthesis of (2Z)-2-(chloromethyl)alk-2-enoates using iron(III) or indium(III) chloride

The stereoselective synthesis of (2Z)-2-(chloromethyl)alk-2-enoates has been achieved efficiently and in high yields and in short reaction times from Baylis-Hillman adducts, 3-hydroxy-2-methylene-alkanoates, by treatment with FeCl₃ or InCl₃ at room temperature.     

Fluctuation study of pionisation in ultrarelativistic nucleus-nucleus interaction

The scaled factorial moments and the multifractal moments have been investigated in different??-intervals to study the dynamical fluctuation of pions produced in 200 AGeV³²S-Ag/Br interaction. In order to investigate the detail characteristics of intermittency behaviour, theF-moments are extracted up to the eighth order of moments in differentM-intervals. The analysis indicates a non-thermal phase transition and different regime of particle production during the hadronisation process.     

Kinetics of unusual photoinduced currents in the solid state of some ferrocene derivatives

Kinetics of change in photoinduced currents (during illumination and after switching off light source) in the solid state of some ferrocene derivatives, namely, ferrocenecarboxylic acid, acetylferrocene, ferrocenecarbaldehyde, hydroxymethyl ferrocene have been studied in dry nitrogen gas atmosphere. Unusual/anomalous photocurrent versus time profiles were observed in some ferrocene derivatives at certain cell temperatures. The kinetics of current changes under photoexcitation and after switching off the light source have been observed to be complicated in nature. Temperature-dependent behavior of the studied kinetics indicates that charge carrier trapping/detrapping and recombination processes are significantly temperature dependent. These processes have an important role in causing the temperature dependent unusual/anomalous photocurrent versus time profiles in the ferrocene derivatives studied.     

Benzylation and Allylation of Naphthols Using Amberlyst-15

A simple and efficient method has been developed for benzylation and allylation of naphthols by treatment of the compounds with benzylic and allylic alcohols, respectively, in the presence of amberlyst-15. Several heterogeneous catalysts were screened for the reaction, and amberlyst-15 was found to be most effective.     

Efficient Bromination of Alkenes and Alkynes Using Potassium Bromide and Diacetoxy Iodobenzene

Bromination of alkenes and alkynes has efficiently been carried out at room temperature in short reaction times using KBr and diacetoxy iodobenzene in CH₂Cl₂-H₂O (1:1) to prepare the corresponding trans-dibromo compounds in excellent yields.
