In this second of a series of two papers, the fire behaviour of halogen-free flame retarded polycarbonate (PC) blends with different impact modifiers was studied. The impact modifiers were acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), a poly(n-butyl acrylate) rubber (PBA) with a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) shell and two silicone-acrylate rubbers consisting of PBA with different amounts of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and different shell materials (PMMA and styrene-acrylonitrile, SAN). The flame retardant was bisphenol A bis(diphenyl phosphate) (BDP). Flammability was determined by LOI and UL 94. The burning behaviour under forced flaming conditions was studied by cone calorimeter under different external irradiations and by pyrolysis combustion flow calorimeter measurements. The exchange of ABS with the pure acrylate rubber worsened flammability, while similar results were obtained in cone calorimeter measurements. The exchange of ABS with the silicone-acrylate rubbers is promising, particularly with higher amounts of PDMS. In flammability tests strongly enhanced LOI values were obtained and therefore silicone-acrylate rubbers look like promising alternatives for ABS. 相似文献

Two microscale separation techniques for the analysis of bioactive naphthoquinones in Eleutherine americana were developed and validated. By MEKC four compounds (eleuthoside B, isoeleutherin, eleutherol and eleutherinoside A) could be determined in plant extracts using an aqueous electrolyte solution composed of 25 mM sodium tetraborate, 50 mM sodium cholate and 20% THF. CEC on a polymeric methacrylate‐based monolith with strong cationic properties showed promising results, as it additionally enabled the separation of two enantiomers, eleutherin and isoeleutherin. The mobile phase for CEC experiments comprised 3 mM ammonium formate in a mixture of ACN and water. At an applied voltage of ?25 kV, all five markers were baseline separated in less than 12 min. Both methods were successfully validated for linearity (MEKC: R2≥0.999; CEC: R2≥0.997), sensitivity (MEKC: LOD=4–5 μg/mL; CEC: LOD=2–8 μg/mL), accuracy (MEKC: 96.5–102.7% recovery; CEC: 97.1–103.5% recovery) and precision (MEKC: σrel≤2.43%; CEC: σrel≤2.21%). The quantitative analysis of naphthoquinone derivatives in several E. americana samples showed that both methods are suitable for practical applications, because the results were well comparable to those obtained by established techniques such as HPLC. 相似文献

Nonracemic sec-alcohols of opposite absolute configuration were obtained either by asymmetric reduction of the corresponding ketone using 2-propanol as hydrogen donor or by enantioselective oxidation through kinetic resolution of the rac-alcohol using acetone as hydrogen acceptor employing whole lyophilized cells of Rhodococcus ruber DSM 44541. The microbial oxidation/reduction system exhibits not only excellent stereo- and enantioselectivity but also a broad substrate spectrum. Due to the exceptional tolerance of the biocatalyst toward elevated concentrations of organic materials (solvents, substrates and cosubstrates), the process is highly efficient. Measurement of the grain-size distribution of sintered hardmetals is indispensable in research and production. In this study we present a method consisting of etching hardmetals in order to remove the cobalt binder and to analyse the remaining tungsten-cobalt (WC) crystallites on the basis of scanning electron microscopy images subjected to a PC-based image analysis by use of MATLAB®. Sample preparation is easy and quick to perform, i.e. it does not require metallographic polishing. It consists of either deep etching of the cobalt binder of cut and optionally hand-ground surfaces or etching of fracture surfaces. Two different computational routines and one combination thereof are described. Two hardmetal grades with average WC grain sizes slightly larger as well as smaller than 200 nm were investigated. The results of the computer algorithms are compared to data obtained by manual linear intercept analysis. The analysis has good potential to avoid time-consuming metallographic preparation and pre-treatment for grain-size analysis, which is especially true for hardmetals with extremely fine grain size. 相似文献

The OH-radical induced degradation of hydroxybenzoic acids (HBA), hydroxycinnamic acids (HCiA) and methoxylated derivatives, as well as of chlorogenic acid and rosmarinic acid was studied by gamma radiolysis in aerated aqueous solutions. Primary aromatic products resulting from an OH-radical attachment to the ring (hydroxylation), to the position occupied by the methoxyl group (replacement –OCH3 by ?OH) as well as to the propenoic acid side chain of the cinnamic acids (benzaldehyde formations) were analysed by HPLC–UV and LC–ESI–MS. A comparison of the extent of these processes is given for 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, vanillic acid, isovanillic acid, syringic acid, cinnamic acid, 4-hydroxycinnamic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, isoferulic acid, chlorogenic acid, and rosmarinic acid. For all cinnamic acids and derivatives benzaldehydes were significant oxidation products. With the release of caffeic acid from chlorogenic acid the cleavage of a phenolic glycoside could be demonstrated. Reaction mechanisms are discussed. 相似文献

The interactions of ionic liquids (IL) with solvents usually used in liquid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy are studied. The 1H- and 13C-NMR chemical shift values of 1-n-butyl-3-methyl (BM)- and 1-ethyl-3-methyl (EM)-substituted imidazolium (IM) -chlorides (Cl) and -acetates (Ac) are determined before and after diluting with deuterated solvents (DMSO-d6, D2O, CD3OD, and CDCl3). The dilution offers structural modifications of the IL due to the solvents capacity to ionization. For further investigation of highly viscous cellulose dopes made of imidazolium-based IL, solid-state NMR spectroscopy enables the reproducibility of liquid-state NMR data of pure IL. The correlation of liquid- and solid-state NMR is shown on EMIM-Ac and cellulose/EMIM-Ac dope (10 wt %). 相似文献
