The time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) has emerged as a powerful tool for the unswerving detection of biomolecules, in particular, proteins and peptides. To date, there is very little information available on the direct determination of trimethyl/triethyl amines using TOF-SIMS. One major hurdle in this regard is an ultrahigh vacuum system, usually needed in TOF-SIMS, which hampers its usability to trimethyl/triethyl amines owing to their high evaporation rate. We designed an efficient and sensitive protocol for rapid identification and sensitive determination of tertiaryalkyl amines using TOF-SIMS. The amines were derivatized by reaction with 1,4-butane sultone and sulphuric acid sequentially to afford the corresponding sulphonic acidic ionic liquids (ILs). The TOF-SIMS analysis of these task-specific ILs (TSILs) was carried out in both positive and negative polarity. The positive ion mass spectra of TSILs showed sharp fragmented peaks for tertiaryalkyl amines at typical level and up to 10 ppm. The possible mechanism for different fragmentation pathways in positive polarity was discussed. 相似文献

Effects of powerline frequency (50/60 Hz) electric and magnetic fields on the central nervous system may involve altered neurotransmitter release. This possibility was addressed by determining whether 60-Hz linearly polarized sinusoidal magnetic fields (MFs) alter the release of catecholamines from cultured bovine adrenal chromaffin cells, a well-characterized model of neural-type cells. Dishes of cells were placed in the center of each of two four-coil Merritt exposure systems that were enclosed within mu-metal chambers in matched incubators for simultaneous sham and MF exposure. Following 15-min MF exposure of the cells to flux densities of 0.01, 0.1, 1.0 or 2 mT, norepinephrine and epinephrine release were quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with electrochemical detection. No significant differences in the release of either norepinephrine or epinephrine were detected between sham-exposed cells and cells exposed to MFs in either the absence or presence of Bay K-8644 (2 microM) or dimethylphenylpiperazinium (DMPP, 10 microM). Consistent with these null findings is the lack of effect of MF exposure on calcium influx. We conclude that catecholamine release from chromaffin cells is not sensitive to 60-Hz MFs at magnetic flux densities in the 0.01-2 mT range. 相似文献

A microwave-assisted digestion procedure was developed in presence of concentrated nitric acid (2.0 ml) and 30% hydrogen peroxide (0.20 ml) using a closed pressurized microwave digestion system for the determination of total anionic and total cationic arsenic compounds reside in oyster tissue. At 450 W for 15 min digestion, 74% of anionic arsenic, and 31% of cationic arsenic (105% total arsenic) were retrieved. At 300 W microwave power, 68% of anionic and 30.5% of cationic arsenic (98.5% total arsenic), and 100 W, 63% of anionic and 31% of cationic arsenic (94% total arsenic) were extracted out. The methanol water mixture (9:1) was cull out, exclusively 31.6% of anionic and 29% of cationic arsenic compounds (60.6% total). The dimethylarsinoylriboside (phosphate-arsenosugar) was the predominant arsenic species, along with arsenobetaine (AB), dimethylarsinic acid (DMA), inorganic arsenic, methylarsonic acid (MA), arsenocholine (AC), trimethylarsineoxide (TMAO) and tetramethylarsonium ion (TMI). Some other arsenic compounds, those were not matched with the retention time of the available standards, were also detected. Arsenosugar was fragile and adequately transmuted to DMA (100%), AB and AC to TMAO (100%) when 450 W microwave power was applied for 15 min. The separation and quantification of arsenic compounds in the microwave digests and extracts, were carried out in anion (PRP-X100) and cation (LC-SCX) exchange columns using ICP-MS as arsenic specific detector. β-Cyclodextrin-polyurethane polymer as solid phase extraction material for the analysis of carcinogenic aromatic amines 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
β-Cyclodextrin-polyurethane (β-CDPU) polymer was synthesized by the reaction of β-cyclodextrin with hexamethylene diisocyanate in dry dimethylformamide and used as a sorbent for the solid phase extraction (SPE) of carcinogenic aromatic amines from water. The polymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and particle size analysis. The separation and quantification was performed by Liquid chromatography with RP-C18 column and diode array detection using standard arylamines for quantification. When compared with commercially available sorbents, β-CDPU gave better recovery for the aromatic amines. From the variation of pH of the extractant from 4.0 to 8.5 recovery was highest at pH 8.5. The breakthrough volume has been ascertained to be 100 ml for 200 mg of the resin. The new SPE material offers better recovery and estimation of banned arylamines. 相似文献

Monte Carlo (MC) simulation of most spatially distributed systems is plagued by several problems, namely, execution of one process at a time, large separation of time scales of various processes, and large length scales. Recently, a coarse-grained Monte Carlo (CGMC) method was introduced that can capture large length scales at reasonable computational times. An inherent assumption in this CGMC method revolves around a mean-field closure invoked in each coarse cell that is inaccurate for short-ranged interactions. Two new approaches are explored to improve upon this closure. The first employs the local quasichemical approximation, which is applicable to first nearest-neighbor interactions. The second, termed multiscale CGMC method, employs singular perturbation ideas on multiple grids to capture the entire cluster probability distribution function via short microscopic MC simulations on small, fine-grid lattices by taking advantage of the time scale separation of multiple processes. Computational strategies for coupling the fast process at small length scales (fine grid) with the slow processes at large length scales (coarse grid) are discussed. Finally, the binomial tau-leap method is combined with the multiscale CGMC method to execute multiple processes over the entire lattice and provide additional computational acceleration. Numerical simulations demonstrate that in the presence of fast diffusion and slow adsorption and desorption processes the two new approaches provide more accurate solutions in comparison to the previously introduced CGMC method. 相似文献

An ultra-slow crystal growth over a period of 24 h of a newly synthesized CH3NH3Pb1/2Bi1/3I3 perovskite (MPBI) nanocrystal in non-polar toluene medium is reported here. From several spectroscopic techniques as well as from TEM analysis we found that the size of nanocrystals changes continuously with time, in spite of being capped by the ligands. Using a single molecular spectroscopic technique, we also found that this size change is not due to the stacking of nanocrystals but due to crystal growth. The notable temperature dependence and reversible nature of the nanocrystals growth is explained by the dynamic nature of the capping. The observed temperature-dependent ultra-slow growth is believed to be a pragmatic step towards controlling the size of perovskite NC in a systematic manner. 相似文献

The Fe(III) complex, [FeIII(HQS)3] (HQS = 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulfonic acid), is found to effect sensitization of the large band gap semiconductor, TiO2. The role of interfacial electron transfer in sensitization of TiO2 nanoparticles by surface adsorbed [FeIII(HQS)3] was studied using femtosecond time scale transient absorption spectroscopy. Electron injection has been confirmed by direct detection of the electron in the conduction band. A TiO2-based dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) was fabricated using [FeIII(HQS)3] as a sensitizer, and the resulting DSSC exhibited an open-circuit voltage value of 425 mV. The value of the short-circuit photocurrent was found to be 2.5 mA/cm2. The solar to electric power conversion efficiency of the [FeIII(HQS)3] sensitized TiO2-based DSSC device was 0.75 %. The results are discussed in the context of sensitization of TiO2 by other Fe(II)-dye complexes. 相似文献

Abundant n → π* interactions between adjacent backbone carbonyl groups, identified by statistical analysis of protein structures, are predicted to play an important role in dictating the structure of proteins. However, experimentally testing the prediction in proteins has been challenging due to the weak nature of this interaction. By amplifying the strength of the n → π* interaction via amino acid substitution and thioamide incorporation at a solvent exposed β-turn within the GB1 proteins and Pin 1 WW domain, we demonstrate that an n → π* interaction increases the structural stability of proteins by restricting the ϕ torsion angle. Our results also suggest that amino acid side-chain identity and its rotameric conformation play an important and decisive role in dictating the strength of an n → π* interaction.Amino acid residues adopt a right-handed α-helical conformation with increasing strength of the n → π* interaction. We also demonstrate a direct consequence of n → π* interactions on enhancing the structural stability of proteins. 相似文献
