Diameters of airborne latex spheres measured with a cylindrical aerosol centrifuge

Accurate diameters for eight different sizes of airborne Dow polystyrene latex spheres were obtained from measurements with a Cylindrical Aerosol Centrifuge by using the internal calibration of the instrument. Differences of up to 10% were observed between nominal and measured diameters. A comparison with electron microscopic sizing techniques is included.

Alkylation of 3-hydroxypyrromethenes and 3-hydroxypyrrole derivatives with trialkyloxoniumtetrafluoborate afforded 3-alkoxy-derivatives whereas other methods of alkylation (dimethyl sulfate, methyl fluorosulfonate, diazomethane) led only to N-methylated compounds. The structure assignments were based on chemical and spectroscopic data.

Effect of Zr,Ti substitutions onT c in superconducting YBa2Cu3O7−δ system

Zr and Ti have been substituted in the system Y_1−x M _x Ba₂Cu₃O_7−δ(M=Zr, Ti,x=0.05,0.1). We find that theT _c value is unchanged, ∼90K for Zr substitutions up to 10% and in the case of Ti substitutions theT _c drops significantly. These changes may arise from their site preference.     

Chemie der pleuromutiline-VI : Vergleichende untersuchung der 13C-NMR spektren des tricyclischen diterpens mutilin und einer reihe von mutilinderivaten

The ¹³C NMR spectra of the diterpenes pleuromutilin,¹ mutilin,¹ and related compounds are discussed in detail. The complete assignment of the signals to the individual C-atoms of the tricyclic system is based on comparisons of spectra as well as increment calculations. The syntheses of the investigated compounds are described, if they were not mentioned in earlier papers.
