1,3‐Dimethylimidazol‐2‐ylidene difluoroborane (NHC‐BF2H) was prepared in a one‐pot, two‐step reaction from the parent ligated borane (NHC‐BH3). The derived difluoroboryl radical (NHC‐BF2.) was generated by laser flash photolysis experiments and characterized by UV spectroscopy and rate‐constant measurements. It is transient and reacts quickly with O2. Unusually, it also reacts more rapidly with ethyl vinyl ether than with methyl acrylate. By this measure, it is the first electrophilic ligated boryl radical. Both NHC‐BH3 and NHC‐BF2H serve as co‐initiators in bulk photopolymerizations, converting both electron‐poor and electron‐rich monomers at roughly similar rates. However, the difluorinated coinitiator provides polymers with dramatically increased chain lengths from both monomers.  相似文献

We prepared an amphiphile with a penta‐phenylene lipophilic group and a branched trimaltoside head group. This new agent, designated penta‐phenylene maltoside (PPM), showed a marked tendency to self‐assembly into micelles via strong aromatic–aromatic interactions in aqueous media, as evidenced by 1H NMR spectroscopy and fluorescence studies. When utilized for membrane protein studies, this new agent was superior to DDM, a gold standard conventional detergent, in stabilizing multiple proteins long term. The ability of this agent to form aromatic–aromatic interactions is likely responsible for enhanced protein stabilization when associated with a target membrane protein.  相似文献

Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are tailor-made synthetic materials possessing specific cavities designed for a target molecule. Since they recognise their target analyte with affinities and selectivities comparable to those of antibody–antigen, enzyme–substrate and ligand–receptor interactions, they are often referred to as synthetic receptors or plastic antibodies. In this review, we describe the great potential and recent developments of MIPs in affinity separations, with emphasis on their application to the solid-phase extraction (SPE) of analytes from complex matrices. Research efforts made in this field to obtain water-compatible polymers for their applicability in aqueous environments are described. We particularly discuss problems encountered in the use of MIPs in SPE and the attempts carried out to improve their efficiency.  相似文献

Advanced tools for cell imaging are of great interest for the detection, localization, and quantification of molecular biomarkers of cancer or infection. We describe a novel photopolymerization method to coat quantum dots (QDs) with polymer shells, in particular, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), by using the visible light emitted from QDs excited by UV light. Fluorescent core–shell particles specifically recognizing glucuronic acid (GlcA) or N‐acetylneuraminic acid (NANA) were prepared. Simultaneous multiplexed labeling of human keratinocytes with green QDs conjugated with MIP‐GlcA and red QDs conjugated with MIP‐NANA was demonstrated by fluorescence imaging. The specificity of binding was verified with a non‐imprinted control polymer and by enzymatic cleavage of the terminal GlcA and NANA moieties. The coating strategy is potentially a generic method for the functionalization of QDs to address a much wider range of biocompatibility and biorecognition issues.  相似文献

Charging of nanoparticles through electrospray has scarcely been explored. Spherical nanometer‐sized amphiphilic block copolymer nanoparticles with diameters ranging from ~65 to ~150 nm were electrosprayed and analysed by charge detection spectrometry. Herein, we explore the charging of these micellar nano‐objects by conducting a thorough study in different solvents, including pure water, and upon the addition of “supercharging” agents. The charge (z) of micellar nanoparticles electrosprayed from water solution is compared to the Rayleigh’s limiting charge (zR) of a charged water droplet of the same dimensions. An average ratio (z/zR) of 0.6–0.65 is observed for the micellar macro‐ions, supporting the charge residue mechanism, where the number of charges available to the micellar macro‐ion is limited by the number of charges on the nanodroplet, which is a function of the surface tension of the solvent. Also we show the possibility of increasing the charging of micellar nanoparticles in the negative mode by adding organic bases (in particular piperidine) to water/methanol solutions.  相似文献

Nine different perylene derivatives are prepared and their ability to initiate, when combined with an iodonium salt (and optionally N‐vinylcarbazole), a ring‐opening cationic photopolymerization of epoxides under very soft halogen lamp irradiation is investigated. One of them is particularly efficient under a red laser diode exposure at 635 nm and belongs now to the very few systems available at this wavelength. The photochemical mechanisms are studied by steady‐state photolysis, electron spin resonance spin trapping, fluorescence, cyclic voltammetry, and laser flash photolysis techniques.

We consider the second order evolution equations of the displacement and rotation fields in any points of the middle surface of a shell in Naghdi's formulation. We establish that, with two controls, the exact controllability on part of the lateral boundary is achieved under the sufficient geometrical condition that the middle surface of the shell is “not too far” from a plane in a sense that is made more precise in the proof.  相似文献
