We present a novel technique for measuring the lifetime of quasiparticle excitations of a 2DES by investigating the tunnelling into a quantum dot from a 2DES over an extended range of energy from the Fermi energy to the sub-band edge. We find that the lifetime τqp, of a quasihole excitation, caused by removing an electron from a 2DES state with energy below the Fermi energy EF, has the form τqp=α/, where α is a constant of order unity. 相似文献

Rhythmic precipitates of centrosymmetric phthalic acid were analyzed by a square-wave mechanically modulated circular extinction imaging microscope. Spherulites were bisected into square-millimeter sized heterochiral domains that are a consequence of circular intensity differential scattering of left and right circularly polarized light. By using the monotone method, a theoretical and computational method is given to find, to the degree of accuracy desired, approximate solutions of a class of singular semilinear parabolic problems. So that the error between the actual solution and its approximation is within a given error tolerance, the number of iterations is determined. Since each iterate is in terms of an infinite series, the number of terms to be retained in each iterate is determined so that its error from the exact iterate is within a given error tolerance. An improved rate of convergence is then given to show that it is possible to reduce the number of terms retained in each iterate. An algorithm is also described to obtain numerical solutions.
