The CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST) has extended its search for solar axions by using (3)He as a buffer gas. At T=1.8 K this allows for larger pressure settings and hence sensitivity to higher axion masses than our previous measurements with (4)He. With about 1 h of data taking at each of 252 different pressure settings we have scanned the axion mass range 0.39 eV?m(a)?0.64 eV. From the absence of excess x rays when the magnet was pointing to the Sun we set a typical upper limit on the axion-photon coupling of g(aγ)?2.3×10(-10) GeV(-1) at 95% C.L., the exact value depending on the pressure setting. Kim-Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov axions are excluded at the upper end of our mass range, the first time ever for any solar axion search. In the future we will extend our search to m(a)?1.15 eV, comfortably overlapping with cosmological hot dark matter bounds. 相似文献

It has been shown that the presence of silicon nanoparticles in a layer of porous silicon saturated with tungsten-tellurite
glass causes an increase in the photoluminescence quantum efficiency of erbium (1530 nm) by an order of magnitude in the case
of long-wavelength excitation and an enhancement of the ytterbium photoluminescence (980 nm) by almost 50 times and erbium
photoluminescence by 25 times in the case of short-wavelength pumping. This luminescence enhancement is explained by the formation
of additional channels of transfer of external excitation by silicon nanocrystallites in porous silicon to impurity ytterbium

Thermal and photooxidation of the statistical copolymer of ethylene containing 1.5% carbonyl units -C(O)- by molecular O2 was studied at 160–200°C in the presence and absence of phenyl-β-naphthylamine (PNA) antioxidant. The incorporation of a
small number of -C(O)- groups into the polyethylene chain insignificantly decreased the rate of thermal (dark) oxidation but
substantially accelerated oxidation under the action of light. At the same time, the oxidation of the copolymer occurred at
a lower rate than the oxidation of pure polyethylene (PE), which was evidence of an important role played by intramolecular
oxidation chain propagation in PE, which is disturbed already at a comparatively low fraction of foreign units. Phenyl-β-naphthylamine
noticeably decelerated oxidation. The rate of polymer biodestruction was much higher than the rate of PE biodestruction. The
influence of biodestruction on the physicomechanical properties of samples was studied by ultrasonic microscopy. The velocity
of sound propagation in PE was somewhat lower compared with the ethylene-carbon monoxide copolymer (ECO). Clearly, the introduction
of a small amount of CO molecules into the polyethylene chain changed the microstructure of PE. The structure of ECO was more
ordered and denser because of plasticization by metabolites. 相似文献

Bulk superconducting samples of type Tl0.5Pb0.5Sr1.6Ba0.4CaCu2−x
Ru
x
O7−δ, (Tl, Pb)/Sr-1212, with 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.525 were prepared by the conventional one-step solid-state reaction technique. The prepared samples were investigated
using X-ray powder diffraction, electrical resistivity and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements. Enhancement
of the phase formation, superconducting transition temperature T
c and hole carriers concentration P was observed up to x = 0.075. For x > 0.075, a reverse trend was observed. EPR spectra were measured at different temperatures (120–290 K) for all prepared samples.
The number of spins N participating in the resonance and the paramagnetic susceptibility χ were calculated as a function of both Ru-content and
temperature. N and χ increased as the Ru-content increased. A linear relationship between logN and 1/T was established, from which the activation energy E
a was calculated as a function of the Ru-content. The temperature dependence of χ was fitted according to Curie–Weiss type
of magnetic behavior. Curie constant C, Curie temperature θ, the effective magnetic moment μ and the electronic specific heat γ were estimated as a function of the Ru-content. 相似文献

Relaxation processes in glass-fiber-reinforced composites with a polymer matrix based on blends of thermosetting and thermoplastic
polyimides are studied via dielectric-relaxation spectroscopy. For all investigated blends, two relaxation processes related
to the β relaxation of different fragments of the polymer chain are found. Linear flexiblechain polyimide incorporated into

In this work we present a comparative study of the thermodynamic properties of two two-dimensional systems. One of them corresponds
to a two-dimensional system of coupled harmonic oscillators, while the second is a nonlinear anharmonic oscillator. We present
the spectrum for the harmonic oscillator and we present for the first time a calculation of the WKB spectrum and the wave
functions for the nonlinear oscillator. We show that the Ω-potential has significantly different behavior in the high temperature
region. This may be noted, for example, in a study of the temperature dependence of the specific heat in planar anisotropic
media.
