Filler particle size is an important particle that effects radiation attenuation performance of a composite shielding material but the effects of it have not been exploited so far. In this study, two mineral (hematite–ilmenite) with different particle sizes were used as fillers in a polymer-matrix composite and effects of particle size on shielding performance was investigated within a widerange of radiation energy (0–2000 keV). The thermal and structural properties of the composites were also examined. The results showed that as the filler particle size decreased the shielding performance increased. The highest shielding performance reached was 23% with particle sizes being between <7 and <74 µm.

It was studied the polymerization of styrene (St) and of butyl acrylate (BuA) in nonionic microemulsions in the presence of a layered alumino silicates, montmorilonit (MMT) type. In time, the latexes separate in two distinct strata, MMT being distributed in the inferior strata where forms aggregates with on order of size bigger than the diameters of nanoparticles of latex. The solid products obtained are nanohybrids of intercalate type whose structural order increases direct proportional with the increase of hydrophobic character of the quaternary ammonium salts used for organophilization of MMT. The presence of nonionic surfactant, nonyl phenol with 25 mols of ethylene oxide, intercalated between the lamellar strata of MMT produces the decrease of thermal stability of hybrids and decreases the glass transition temperature of PSt which is more compatible than PBuA.  相似文献

FT-IR and Raman spectra of 5-o-tolyl-2-pentene (OTP) have been experimentally reported in the region of 4000-10 cm(-1) and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The optimized geometric parameters, normal mode frequencies and corresponding vibrational assignments of cis and trans isomers of OTP (C12H16) have been theoretically examined by means of B3LYP hybrid density functional theory (DFT) method together with 6-31G(d) and 6-31++G(d,p) basis sets. Furthermore, reliable vibrational assignments have made on the basis of potential energy distribution (PED) calculated. Comparison between the experimental and theoretical results indicates that density functional B3LYP method is able to provide satisfactory results for predicting vibrational wavenumbers and trans isomer is supposed to be the most stable form of OTP molecule.  相似文献

The emergence of organotrifluoroborates has provided important new perspectives for the organoboron component of these reactions.
