The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of broccoli leaf powder (BLP) incorporation on the technological properties, sensory quality and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of durum wheat pasta. Incorporation of BLP increased cooking loss; however, all pasta samples were found to be in the acceptable range of 8 g/100 g. The addition of BLP decreased optimal cooking time and water absorption but increased the swelling index. Firmness and total shearing force decreased with increased BLP content. The obtained pasta was greener than the control, with a higher content of minerals, and an increasing tendency with respect to protein was observed. The VOC profile of enriched pasta was richer and contained compounds typical of broccoli (e.g., dimethyl sulphide), affecting its aroma. The sensory evaluation results indicate that the addition of BLP did not affect the overall acceptance of pasta. Up to 5% BLP content afforded an interesting, more nutritious pasta without compromising its technological and sensory quality. 相似文献

Geranylacetone and nerylacetone are natural sesquiterpenoids, which play various roles in plant-insect interactions, including the deterrent and repellent effects on herbivores. The structural modifications of natural compounds often change their biological activities. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of geranylacetone, nerylacetone and their epoxy-derivatives on the probing and settling behavior of Myzus persicae (Sulz.) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). The no-choice test using the Electrical Penetration Graph (EPG) technique showed that the probes before the first phloem phase were usually shorter than 3 min, which means that they were terminated within the epidermis and/or outer layers of mesophyll. This resulted in a tendency to delay the initiation of the phloem phase in aphids, which reflects a weak preingestive deterrent activity of the studied compounds at the level of non-vascular tissues. Most M. persicae showed bouts of sustained phloem sap ingestion. However, the 24-h free-choice test demonstrated that aphids did not settle on the leaves treated with geranylacetone, nerylacetone, and their epoxy-derivatives. The refusal to settle after the consumption of phloem sap on treated plants indicated that the studied compounds had postingestive deterrent activity. The epoxidation of geranylacetone and nerylacetone did not evoke significant changes in their activity profiles. 相似文献

Platonic fullerenes are those structures, either closed or open ones, covered by a single type of polygonal face. Excepting the graphite sheet, all the other nano-structures show non-zero strain energy. In this study, Platonic nanostructures, covered by polygonal faces f k , k = 5–7, are designed and optimized at Hartree–Fock HF and DFT levels of theory. Next, their stability, in terms of total energy and HOMO–LUMO gap, strain energy (by POAV theory), HOMA index of aromaticity, and Kekulé structure count, is discussed. The aim of the present work was to perform a preliminary study of the physicochemical properties of hybrid organic–inorganic gel electrolytes for Li-ion batteries based on the PAN/TMS - poly(acrylonitrile)/sulfolane - polymeric matrix and surface-modified precipitated silicas. Modifications were done by means of the so-called dry method using silane U-511 3-methacryloxypropyltrimetoxysilane. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), noninvasive back scattering method (NIBS), specific surface area (BET), the degree of modification of the silica fillers—Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), impedance analysis, and charging/discharging were carried out. It is found that the silica fillers were homogeneously dispersed in the polymeric matrix, which enhanced conductivity and electrochemical stability of porous polymer electrolytes. Applicability of the prepared gel electrolytes for the Li-ion technology was estimated on the basis of specific conductivity measurements. It was shown that modification of the silica surface by the silane causes an increase in the gel-specific conductivity by about 2 orders of magnitude as compared to gel with unmodified silica. 相似文献
