We present a new variant of the simultaneous Stone-Weierstrass approximation of a function and its partial derivatives, when the function takes its values in a Banach space, and provide an explicit and direct computation of this approximation. In the particular case of approximation by means of polynomials, we show that the simultaneous approximation can be required to be exact at a finite number of prescribed points. 相似文献

We consider a queueing system with three single servers in tandem with two intermediate buffer storages of finite capacity. The processing times are exponentially distributed and the first server has unlimited number of customers in front of it. Using a negative dependence property between the number of customers at the first and second buffer storages we show that a popular form of decomposition approach applied to this model, indeed, provides a lower bound for its performance. The approach used here to establish the bound is new and could be extended to establish bounds for other types of tandem queues with finite buffer spaces. 相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to investigate stabilities and properties for uracil (U)-functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNTs). To this aim, the optimized molecular properties were evaluated for (n, 0) models of CNTs (n = 3–16) in the original and U-functionalized forms. The results indicated that the dipole moments and energy gaps were independent of tubular diameters whereas the binding energies showed that the U-functionalization could be better achieved for n = 8–11 curvatures of (n, 0) CNTs. Further studies based on the evaluated atomic-scale properties, including quadrupole coupling constants (C Q ), indicated that the electronic properties of atoms could detect the effects of diameters variations of (n, 0) CNTs, in which the effects were very much significant for the atoms around the U-functionalization regions. Finally, the achieved results of singular U, original CNTs, and CNT-U hybrids were compared to each other to demonstrate the stabilities and properties for the U-functionalized (n, 0) CNTs. 相似文献

Some new technologies such as Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is suggested to solve the physical limits of the Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) technology. The QCA as one of the novel technologies at nanoscale has potential applications in future computers. This technology has some advantages such as minimal size, high speed, low latency, and low power consumption. As a result, it is used for creating all varieties of memory. Counter circuits as one of the important circuits in the digital systems are composed of some latches, which are connected to each other in series and actually they count input pulses in the circuit. On the other hand, the reversible computations are very important because of their ability in reducing energy in nanometer circuits. Improving the energy efficiency, increasing the speed of nanometer circuits, increasing the portability of system, making smaller components of the circuit in a nuclear size and reducing the power consumption are considered as the usage of reversible logic. Therefore, this paper aims to design a two-bit reversible counter that is optimized on the basis of QCA using an improved reversible gate. The proposed reversible structure of 2-bit counter can be increased to 3-bit, 4-bit and more. Polypropylene (PP) composites including various amounts of silica aerogel (SA) microparticles were prepared by melt mixing in an internal mixer. The morphology and microstructure of the prepared composites were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Mechanical properties of the samples, including elastic modulus, tensile stress, elongation and stress at break, were measured by tensile tests. In addition, the other mechanical features, including Izod impact strength, hardness and wear resistance, were evaluated and then related to the structure of the PP/SA composites. Furthermore, the thermal characteristics of the composites, such as heat deflection temperature and thermal stability, were studied by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The SEM photographs indicated the satisfactory SA particles dispersion for the compositions of 1% and 3% but agglomeration of the aerogels at higher SA contents. Since the composites became stiffer, the impact and tensile strength decreased. The addition of the SA to the PP matrix yielded harder samples with lower weight loss and coefficients of friction in wear tests. The TGA evaluations confirmed that the presence of SA promoted and upgraded the thermal stability and heat deflection temperature of PP. The thermal results proved the superior potential of PP as an insulator when the SA particles were added. 相似文献

In this paper we report a time-delayed chameleon-like chaotic system which can belong to different families of chaotic attractors depending on the choices of parameters. Such a characteristic of self-excited and hidden chaotic flows in a simple 3D system with time delay has not been reported earlier. Dynamic analysis of the proposed time-delayed systems are analysed in time-delay space and parameter space. A novel adaptive modified functional projective lag synchronization algorithm is derived for synchronizing identical time-delayed chameleon systems with uncertain parameters. The proposed time-delayed systems and the synchronization algorithm with controllers and parameter estimates are then implemented in FPGA using hardware–software co-simulation and the results are presented. 相似文献

We propose a method for analyzing the data for the rates of exchange of various currencies versus the U.S. dollar. The method analyzes the return time series of the data as a Markov process, and develops an effective equation which reconstructs it. We find that the Markov time scale, i.e., the time scale over which the data are Markov-correlated, is one day for the majority of the daily exchange rates that we analyze. We derive an effective Langevin equation to describe the fluctuations in the rates. The equation contains two quantities, D(1) and D(2), representing the drift and diffusion coefficients, respectively. We demonstrate how the two coefficients are estimated directly from the data, without using any assumptions or models for the underlying stochastic time series that represent the daily rates of exchange of various currencies versus the U.S. dollar. 相似文献
