We study the search of a small round hole in the wall of a spherical cavity by a diffusing particle, which can reversibly bind to the cavity wall and diffuse on the surface being in the bound state. There are two channels for the particle first passage to the hole, through the bulk, and through the surface. We propose a coarse-grained model of the search process and use it to derive simple approximate formulas for the mean time required for the particle to reach the hole for the first time and for the probability of the first passage to the hole through the bulk channel. This is done for two distributions of the particle starting point: (1) Uniform distribution over the cavity volume and (2) uniform distribution over the cavity wall. We check the accuracy of the approximate formulas by comparing their predictions with the corresponding quantities found by solving the mixed bulk-surface diffusion problem numerically by the finite difference method. The comparison shows excellent agreement between the analytical and numerical results.  相似文献

Pairing symmetry in oxypnictides, a new family of multiband high-T c superconductors, is partially imposed by the positions of multiple Fermi pockets, which itself can give rise to new order parameters, such as s +,− states or the state of the symmetry. Other pairing states may appear on small pockets for long-range interactions, but they are expected to be sensitive to defects. We identify the competing antiferromagnetic order with the triplet exciton transition in the semimetallic background and discuss whether its coexistence with superconductivity explains the doping dependence of T c . We investigate by electrical transport the field-induced superconducting state (FISC) in the organic conductor lambda-(BETS)2FeCl4. Below 4 K, antiferromagnetic-insulator, metallic, and eventually superconducting (FISC) ground states are observed with increasing in-plane magnetic field. The FISC state survives between 18 and 41 T and can be interpreted in terms of the Jaccarino-Peter effect, where the external magnetic field compensates the exchange field of aligned Fe3+ ions. We further argue that the Fe3+ moments are essential to stabilize the resulting singlet, two-dimensional superconducting state.  相似文献

A numerical solution for competitive diffusion into two static charged sinks is presented and compared against an approximate analytical solution. It is shown that for an attractive Coulomb potential the correction to the total diffusive flux of ionic reactants due to diffusion interaction between sinks may be ignored for large enough values of the Onsager length and thus the reaction rate can be described by the classical Debye formula. On the other hand, for repulsive potentials the competition becomes more profound than in the case of uncharged sinks. However, this effect is of little interest because of a small value of the diffusive flux on the reaction surface.  相似文献

A stochastic model of triplet exciton dynamics in multichromophoric conjugated polymers is presented and analyzed in detail, with a focus on the single molecule spectroscopy observables. The model deals with the evolution of a discrete statistical distribution of triplets in isolated polymer molecules. This approach should provide more accurate quantitative information on the dynamic processes involved, as compared to the previously used two-state model which assumes that a conjugated polymer cannot contain more than one triplet. In particular, it allows for determination of the triplet-triplet annihilation rate.  相似文献

Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy was used to measure the elastic constants of bcc Ta0.33V0.67 over the temperature range 3.5–300?K; the results were compared to earlier measurements on C15 TaV2. The temperature dependence of the polycrystalline shear modulus is completely different in the two phases; that of the bcc phase decreases with temperature whereas that of the C15 phases increases in an anomalous fashion. This difference is consistent with a model involving doubly-degenerate levels at the X point of the Brillouin zone in the C15 phase with the Fermi level lying near the doubly degenerate level. This model accounted for the unusual behaviour of the C15 phase. Debye temperatures were determined from the ultrasonic measurements: 295?K for the C15 phase and 315?K for the bcc phase.  相似文献
