Optical coherence tomography with plasmon resonant nanorods of gold   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We explored plasmon resonant nanorods of gold as a contrast agent for optical coherence tomography (OCT). Nanorod suspensions were generated through wet chemical synthesis and characterized with spectrophotometry, transmission electron microscopy, and OCT. Polyacrylamide-based phantoms were generated with appropriate scattering and anisotropy coefficients (30 cm(-1) and 0.89, respectively) to image distribution of the contrast agent in an environment similar to that of tissue. The observed signal was dependent on whether the plasmon resonance peak overlapped the source bandwidth of the OCT, confirming the resonant character of enhancement. Gold nanorods with plasmon resonance wavelengths overlapping the OCT source yielded a signal-to-background ratio of 4.5 dB, relative to the tissue phantom. Strategies for OCT imaging with nanorods are discussed.  相似文献

A novel catalyst material for the selective dehydrogenation of propane is presented. The catalyst consists of 1000 ppm Pt, 3 wt % Ga, and 0.25 wt % K supported on alumina. We observed a synergy between Ga and Pt, resulting in a highly active and stable catalyst. Additionally, we propose a bifunctional active phase, in which coordinately unsaturated Ga3+ species are the active species and where Pt functions as a promoter.  相似文献

Nonsymmetric terms or angle-dependent terms in the power series expansion of Einstein's equations are considered. It is shown, first, that they do not influence the time evolution of the symmetric terms and, second, that they do not remain bounded as the cylinder collapses. However, the major contribution to the density arising from the symmetric terms makes the nonsymmetric contribution progressively more insignificant as the collapse proceeds.  相似文献

Experiments on a steady flow through a nominally 2-D exit geometry with rounded edges are presented for the Reynolds number range 300<Re<25,000. The results indicate that the channel flow expands and decelerates upstream of the exit plane resulting in large pressure recovery, especially for turbulent channel flow. It is shown that pressure recovery is a function of the dimensionless edge radius and Re. Pressure recoveries of up to 20% are reported at large Re for dimensionless radii as small as r/h=0.625. It is also found that the rounded exit results in turbulence levels as much as 25% higher than sharp-edged exits.  相似文献

A homologous series of DNA-modified electrodes has been investigated in which the molecular tether length varies. Using intercalated, covalently bound daunomycin as a redox probe, an exponential dependence of electron transfer rates on the number of intervening methylene groups in the sigma-bonded tether is observed. In contrast, variation in DM position within DNA yields no detectable change in rate. These data confirm that overall electron transfer rates in DNA films are limited by the tether, not the DNA.  相似文献

We are using the coordinating anions tetrakis(imidazolyl)borate and tetrakis(4-methylimidazolyl)borate to construct new metal-organic framework structures. In this report, we are exploring materials similar in composition to the previously reported layered network structure Pb[B(Im)(4)](NO(3))(nH(2)O). The metal in this compound can be replaced with isoelectronic Tl(I), affording Tl[B(Im)(4)], and the borate can be modified by using 4-methylimidazole, resulting in Pb[B(4-MeIm)(4)](NO(3)) and Tl[B(4-MeIm)(4)]. Like the parent Pb[B(Im)(4)](NO(3))(nH(2)O), Tl[B(Im)(4)] and Tl[B(4-MeIm)(4)] are layered network structures but both lack anions or solvent molecules in the interlayer spacing. The material Pb[B(4-MeIm)(4)](NO(3)), however, exhibits a 3D network structure that lacks an open topology, resulting from the increased stereochemical activity (greater steric bulk toward other ligands) of the 4-methylimidazole ring. Both of the Tl(I) solids display longer M-N bonds than observed in the analogous Pb(II) compounds; these lengths account for the decreased effect of the stereochemical activity of the 4-methylimidazole ring in Tl[B(4-MeIm)(4)].  相似文献
