Structure of metal clusters and of the C60 matrix in Au/C60 and Cu/C60 nanosystems was investigated by X-ray diffraction. Results support a charge-transfer-type interaction at the metal-C60 interface, which affects the size distribution of metal clusters, favouring interstitial location of metal ions in the fullerite lattice. Production of Lambda and Antilambda hyperons was measured in central Pb-Pb collisions at 40, 80, and 158A GeV beam energy on a fixed target. Transverse mass spectra and rapidity distributions are given for all three energies. The Lambda/pi ratio at midrapidity and in full phase space shows a pronounced maximum between the highest BNL Alternating Gradient Synchrotron and 40A GeV CERN Super Proton Synchrotron energies, whereas the Lambda/pi ratio exhibits a monotonic increase.  相似文献

Distributed feedback microstructures play a fundamental role in confining and manipulating light to obtain lasing in media with gain. Here, we present an innovative array of organic, color-tunable microlasers which are intrinsically phase locked. Dye-doped helixed liquid crystals were embedded within periodic, polymeric microchannels sculptured by light through a single-step process. The helical superstructure was oriented along the microchannels; the lasing was observed along the same direction at the red edge of the stop band. Several physical and technological advantages arise from this engineered heterostructure: a high quality factor of the cavity, ultralow lasing threshold, and thermal and electric control of the lasing wavelength and emission intensity. This level of integration of guest-host systems, embedded in artificially patterned small sized structures, might lead to new photonic chip architectures.  相似文献

We study the Kondo effect in a quantum dot coupled to ferromagnetic leads and analyze its properties as a function of the spin polarization of the leads. Based on a scaling approach, we predict that for parallel alignment of the magnetizations in the leads the strong-coupling limit of the Kondo effect is reached at a finite value of the magnetic field. Using an equation of motion technique, we study nonlinear transport through the dot. For parallel alignment, the zero-bias anomaly may be split even in the absence of an external magnetic field. For antiparallel spin alignment and symmetric coupling, the peak is split only in the presence of a magnetic field, but shows a characteristic asymmetry in amplitude and position.  相似文献

Electron tunneling through a single discrete level of a quantum dot, coupled to two ferromagnetic leads, is studied theoretically in the sequential tunneling regime. Electron correlations and spin relaxation processes on the dot are taken into account. It is shown that strong Coulomb correlations can enhance tunnel magnetoresistance in a certain bias range. The effect, however, is suppressed by spin-flip processes.  相似文献

Beigefügte Tabellen ermöglichen sachlichen Vergleich, der — mit der bekanntgegebenen Gleichung und den uns bisher als bestbekannten Formeln berechneten — Werten untereinander und auch mit den wahren Werten der Fließkurven einiger Flüssigkeiten und Dispersionen von möglichst extremer Strukturviskosität.
Summary In order to illustrate the flow curve a new function is discussed. The tables enclosed give the possibility to compare the values, calculated by the equation published, and by the formulas known by us most of all one with the other and also with the real values of the flow curves of some liquids and dispersions with a structural viscosity being possibly extreme.

Coherent control calculations are presented for a spherically symmetric box potential for non-resonant two photon transition probabilities. With the help of a genetic algorithm (GA), the population of the excited states are maximized and minimized. The external driving field is a superposition of three intensive extreme ultraviolet (XUV) linearly polarized laser pulses with different frequencies in the femtosecond duration range. We solved the quantum mechanical problem within the dipole approximation. Our investigation clearly shows that the dynamics of the electron current has a strong correlation with the optimized and neutralizing pulse shape.   相似文献

A more general scale-setting procedure for General Relativity with Renormalization Group corrections is proposed. Theoretical aspects of the scale-setting procedure and the interpretation of the Renormalization Group running scale are discussed. The procedure is elaborated for several highly symmetric systems with matter in the form of an ideal fluid and for two models of running of the Newton coupling and the cosmological term. For a static spherically symmetric system with the matter obeying the polytropic equation of state the running scale-setting is performed analytically. The obtained result for the running scale matches the Ansatz introduced in a recent paper by Rodrigues, Letelier and Shapiro which provides an excellent explanation of rotation curves for a number of galaxies. A systematic explanation of the galaxy rotation curves using the scale-setting procedure introduced in this Letter is identified as an important future goal.  相似文献
