This paper addresses the finite size 1-center placement problem on a rectangular plane in the presence of barriers. Barriers are regions in which both facility location and travel through are prohibited. The feasible region for facility placement is subdivided into cells along the lines of Larson and Sadiq [R.C. Larson, G. Sadiq, Facility locations with the Manhattan metric in the presence of barriers to travel, Operations Research 31 (4) (1983) 652–669]. To overcome complications induced by the center (minimax) objective, we analyze the resultant cells based on the cell corners. We study the problem when the facility orientation is known a priori. We obtain domination results when the facility is fully contained inside 1, 2 and 3-cornered cells. For full containment in a 4-cornered cell, we formulate the problem as a linear program. However, when the facility intersects gridlines, analytical representation of the distance functions becomes challenging. We study the difficulties of this case and formulate our problem as a linear or nonlinear program, depending on whether the feasible region is convex or nonconvex. An analysis of the solution complexity is presented along with an illustrative numerical example. 相似文献

Axions are pseudo-scalar particles, those which arise because of breaking of Peccei Queen (PQ) symmetry. Axions have a tree level coupling to two photons. As a consequence there exists a tree level coupling of axion to photon in a magnetic field. However, in an external magnetic field, there exists a new loop induced, axion photon vertex that gives rise to axion photon coupling. The strength of the tree level axion photon coupling in magnetic field is known to be model dependent. However, in a magnetic field, the new loop induced coupling has some interesting features. This note discusses the new axion photon vertex in a magnetized medium and the corrections arising from there. The magnitude of the correction to axion photon coupling, because of magnetized vacuum and matter, is estimated in this note. While making this estimate we note that the form of the axion photon vertex is related to the axial polarization tensor. This vertex is shown to satisfy the Ward identity. The coupling is shown to have a momentum dependent piece in it. Astrophysical importance of this extra modification is also pointed out. 相似文献

Nickel (II) and Cobalt (II) form in 50% ethanolic medium, a bluish violet complex with Bromopyrogallol Red (BPR) in the mole ratio of 1:1 (Ni(II)) and 1:2 (Co(II)), both having at 620 nm, stable in the pH ranges 6.0-7.5 and 5.5-7.0, respectively. The thermodynamic stability constants and overall changes in the free energy of formation, enthalpy and entropy have been determined in both the cases. Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range 0.5-5.0 ppm of Nickel and 0.2-3.0 ppm of Cobalt at 620 nm. The net molar absorptivities are 1.6 × 104 and 2.9 × 104 and the sensitivities are 0.00367 and 0.00219 μg of Nickel and Cobalt per cm,/2. A thiophene-based tripodal receptor has been synthesized and its complexes with nitrate and iodide have determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. In the nitrate complex, one nitrate is encapsulated in a selective orientation forming a C(3) symmetric complex, which is bonded to three protonated secondary amines with six NH···O bonds. The anion is coordinated in a plane perpendicular to the principal rotation axis passing through the tertiary nitrogen of the receptor and the nitrogen of the encapsulated nitrate. High-level DFT calculations support the crystallographic results demonstrating that an adduct with trigonal binding of three oxygen atoms is more stable than that of one oxygen atom of the encapsulate nitrate. On the other hand, in the structure of the iodide complex, all three iodides lie outside the cavity. (1)H NMR titration studies indicate that the receptor forms a 1:1 complex with nitrate with a binding constant of K = 315 M(-1) in chloroform, showing a moderate selectivity over halides and perchlorate. 相似文献

The excellent molecular recognition capabilities of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) have opened up exciting opportunities for biotherapeutic discovery. Taking advantage of the full potential of this tool necessitates affinity ligands capable of conjugating directly with small molecules to a defined degree of biorthogonality, especially when modifying natural Abs. Herein, a bioorthogonal boronate-affinity-based Ab ligand featuring a 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine and an S-aryl thioester to label full-length Abs is reported. The photoactivatable linker in the acyl donor facilitated purification of azide-labelled Ab (N3-Ab) was quantitatively cleaved upon brief exposure to UV light while retaining the original Ab activity. Click reactions enabled the precise addition of biotin, a fluorophore, and a pharmacological agent to the purified N3-Abs. The resulting immunoconjugate showed selectivity against targeted cells. Bioorthogonal traceless design and reagentless purification allow this strategy to be a powerful tool to engineer native antibodies amenable to therapeutic intervention. 相似文献

Non-Gaussian and nonclassical states and processes are already found to be important resources for performing various tasks related to quantum gravity and quantum information processing. Considering these facts, a quantitative analysis of the nonclassical and non-Gaussian features is performed here for photon added displaced Fock state, as a test case, using a set of measures, namely entanglement potential, Wigner–Yanese skew information, Wigner logarithmic negativity, and relative entropy of non-Gaussianity. It is observed that Fock parameter always increases the amount of nonclassicality and non-Gaussianity, while photon addition is effective only for small values of the displacement parameter. Further, the nonclassical and non-Gaussian effects decrease initially with an increase in the displacement parameter before increasing for the large displacement to saturate to the corresponding Fock state (equivalently displaced Fock state) value. Finally, dynamics of the Wigner function under the effect of photon loss channel is used to show that only highly efficient detectors are able to detect Wigner negativity. 相似文献
