Synthesis of new derivatives of 3<Emphasis Type="Italic">β</Emphasis>-hydroxy18<Emphasis Type="Italic">β</Emphasis>H-olean-9,12-dien-30-oic acid

Reduction of glycyrrhizic acid

The reduction of glycyrrhizic acid by NaBH₄ and LiAlH₄ was studied. Synthesis of 5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil 3-Β-D-ribofuranoside

3-(-D-Ribofuranosyl)-5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil was synthesized by the silyl method in the presence of SnCl₄ using 1-O-acetyl-2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl--D-ribofuranose as the carbohydrate component. Stereoselective synthesis of 2-deoxy-α-d-arabino-hexopyranosides of triterpene alcohols

2-Deoxy-2-iodo--d-mannopyranosides of triterpene alcohols of the oleanane series were synthesized inca. 60% yields by glycosylation with readily accessibled-glucal triacetate in the presence ofN-iodosuccinimide as the promotor. Their deiodination by catalytic hydrogenation followed by deacetylation yielded 2-deoxy--d-arabino-hexopyranosides of glycyrrhetic acid derivatives and allobetulin.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Synthesis of N-glycoconjugates of glycyrrhetic acid
