A comprehensive photophysical study of the linear and nonlinear absorption properties has been carried out on two series of two-photon absorbing dyes to gain insight into how structure-property relationships influence observed nonlinear absorption. The materials studied consist of an electron accepting benzothiazole group connected to an electron donating diphenylamine via a fluorene bridging group. Two series differ from each other by the addition of one phenyl group and for each series one-arm (dipolar, AF240 and AF270), two-arm (quadrupolar, AF287 and AF295), and three-arm (octupolar, AF350 and AF380) versions were studied. Overall the AF240 series exhibits higher intrinsic two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-sections than the AF270 series as well as enhanced nanosecond nonlinear absorption, with an increase with number of branches. The enhanced nanosecond nonlinearity is understood by taking into account the contribution from the singlet and triplet excited states and was verified by a two-photon assisted excited-state absorption model that satisfactorily predicts the nonlinear absorption of the chromophores.  相似文献

We have investigated rarely observed 77Se J-couplings (spin-spin couplings) in the mixed-metal face-capped octahedral clusters [Re5OsSe8(CN)6]3- and [Re4Os2Se8(CN)6]2- at natural abundance. To the best of our knowledge, these are the first observations of Se-Se spin-spin interactions between mu3-Se sites, important for stereochemical assignments in hexarhenium analogues, Chevrel phase materials, and similar cluster materials. NMR techniques such as COSY, INADEQUATE, and 2D J-resolved spectroscopy have been used in conjunction to study these interactions. The two isomers (cis and trans) of [Re4Os2Se8(CN)6]2- were distinguishable, and selective isotopic labeling of [Re5OsSe8(CN)6]3- with 13CN ligands enabled resonances to be assigned by observing the 2J (Se-M-C) couplings. For [Re5OsSe8(CN)6]3-, two different 2J (Se-M-Se) couplings were measurable on a single cluster, and these are related to one another through spin-spin interactions across a face diagonal or along an edge of the cube of inner selenium ligands. A rigorous analysis based on combinatorial math has been invoked to assign the couplings on the basis of the probability of multiple-spin interactions. The face diagonal association is found to result in a J-coupling interaction larger in magnitude than that from coupling along an edge of the cube-information critical for making stereochemical assignments of selenium sites.  相似文献

In order to determine steroid compounds in GC/MS an analytical method using pressurized fluid extraction (PFE) was developed. While extracting in-house reference material (coastal sediment) typical recovery in PFE ranged from 80 to 120% (+/-2.5-14.5) and the average extraction yield in PFE in comparison to conventional soxhlet extraction was 115%. In particular, the PFE showed higher extraction efficiency for C29 and dien sterols. Optimizing parameters such as temperature and pressure is critical in achieving this efficiency. Sterols in the sediment were derivatized with silyl reagent BSTFA in acetone for the final determination. A short column florisil cleanup offered the best separation of the GC/MS sensitive derivatives from co-contaminants. Thirty-three coastal sediment samples were analyzed using PFE and Soxhlet extraction methods. The results on extraction efficiency, silyl derivatization kinetics and purification efficiency demonstrated that PFE is far superior in extracting sterols from sediment samples. It is simple, fast, efficient and amenable for automation.  相似文献

Treatment of [RuCl3(PPh3)3] with 1-(arylazo)naphthol ligands in benzene under reflux afford air-stable new organoruthenium(III) complexes with general composition [Ru(an-R)Cl(PPh3)2] (where, R = H, Cl, CH3, OCH3, OC2H5) in fairly good yield. The 1-(arylazo)naphtholate ligands behave as dianionic tridentate C, N, O donors and coordinates to ruthenium through phenolic oxygen, azo nitrogen and ortho carbon generate two five-membered chelate rings. The composition of the complexes have been established by analytical (elemental analysis and magnetic susceptibility measurement) and spectral (FT-IR, UV-Vis, EPR) methods. The complexes are paramagnetic (low-spin, d5) in nature and in dichloromethane solution show intense d-d transitions and ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) transitions in the visible region. The solution EPR spectrum of complex [Ru(an-CH3)Cl(PPh3)2] (3) in dichloromethane at 77 K shows rhombic distortion around the ruthenium ion with three different ‘g’ values (gx ≠ gy ≠ gz). The single crystal structure of the complex [Ru(an-OCH3)Cl(PPh3)2] (4) has been characterised by X-ray crystallography, indicates the presence of a distorted octahedral geometry in these complexes. All the complexes exhibit one quasi-reversible oxidative response in the range 0.60-0.79 V (RuIV/RuIII) and two quasi-reversible reductive responses (RuIII/RuII; RuII/RuI) within the range −0.50 to −0.62 V and −0.93 to −0.98 V respectively. The formal potential of all the couples correlate linearly with the Hammett constant of the para substituent in arylazo fragment of the 1-(arylazo)naphtholate ligand. Further, the catalytic efficiency of one of the ruthenium complexes (4) was determined for the transfer hydrogenation of ketones with an excellent yield up to 99% in the presence of isopropanol/KOH.  相似文献

Four series of photocrosslinkable-cum-flame retardant poly(benzylidene phosphoramide ester)s were synthesized from bis(4-hydroxy-3-methyoxybenzylidene) acetone, 2,5-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)cyclopentanone, 2,6-bis(4-hydroxy-3- methoxybenzylidene)cyclohexanone and 2,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene) cycloheptanone with various arylphosphorodichloridates by interfacial polycondensation using a phase transfer catalyst. The resultant polymers were characterized by gpc, FTIR, 1H, 13C and 31P-NMR spectroscopy. Thermal behavior of the polymers was evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry. Flame retardant properties were ascertained by Limiting Oxygen Index. The photocrosslinking ability of the polymers was studied by ultraviolet spectroscopy. The crosslinking proceeds via 2π + 2π cycloaddition reaction of the benzylidene groups. The rate of crosslinking decreases with increase in the size of cycloalkanone ring, while the thermal stability increases with increase in the size of the alkanone ring. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Ferromagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles of about 33 nm in diameter were synthesized by high-temperature decomposition of an iron-oleate complex, using octadecene as the solvent. These particles were subsequently coated with polyN-isopropylacrylamide (pNIPAAm) by a surfactant exchange method. Temperature-sensitive behavior of these particles was studied using ac susceptibility and dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements. Shifts in the imaginary part of the ac susceptibility are correlated with swelling and collapse of pNIPAAm as a function of temperature.  相似文献

Complementing classical isocratic elution, several more sophisticated operating modes have been proposed and are applied in preparative chromatography in order to improve performance. One such approach is gradient elution, where the solvent strength is altered by varying the fraction of a modifier added to the mobile phase to enhance selectivity and to achieve faster elution. Another useful technique is closed-loop recycling, allowing better peak resolution and increased yields. This study focuses on a modified new scheme which incorporates the advantages of both gradient elution and closed-loop recycling for the separation of a ternary mixture where the intermediately eluting component is the target. A parametric study was carried out using typical adsorption isotherm parameters to elucidate the effects of varying loading factors and parameters specific to the two basic operational modes on production rates and yields. A comparison was also made between the proposed scheme and conventional techniques. It was found that the studied scheme could exploit increased column loadings and offers significantly higher production rates.  相似文献

The syntheses, structural and spectroscopic characterization, fluoride abstraction reactions, and photochemical reactivity of cationic uranyl(VI) phosphine oxide complexes are described. [UO2(OPPh3)4][X]2 (1a, X = OTf; 1b, X = BF4) and [UO2(dppmo)2(OPPh3)][X]2 (2a, X = OTf; 2b, X = BF(4)) are prepared from the corresponding uranyl(VI) chloride precursor and 2 equiv each of AgX and phosphine oxide. The BF4- compounds 1b and 2b are prone to fluoride abstraction reactions in methanol, leading to dinuclear fluoride-bridged uranyl(VI) complexes. Fluoride abstraction of 2b in methanol generates two structural isomers of the fluoride-bridged uranyl(VI) dimer [(UO2(dppmo)2)2(mu-F)][BF4]3 (4), both of which have been structurally characterized. In the major isomer 4C, the four dppmo ligands are all chelating, while in the minor isomer 4B, two of the dppmo ligands bridge adjacent uranyl(VI) centers. Photolysis of 2b in methanol proceeds through 4 to form the uranium(IV) fluoride complex [UO2F2(dppmo)3][BF4]2 (5), involving another fluoride abstraction step. X-ray crystallography shows 5 to be a rare example of a structurally characterized uranium(IV) complex possessing terminal U-F bonds. Complex 5 reverts to 4 in solution upon exposure to air.  相似文献

Two inline matrix diversion methods were developed for the sensitive analysis of perchlorate in a matrix comprising up to 1000 mg l−1 of chloride, sulfate and bicarbonate ions using suppressed ion chromatography and conductivity detection. The first method used a cryptand C1 concentrator column, which exhibited a high selectivity for perchlorate ion over the other matrix anions. After retaining the sample anions in a concentrator column derivatized with a crytpand phase, a rinse step was implemented with a weak base to divert the matrix ions to waste while selectively retaining perchlorate in the concentrator column for subsequent analysis. The analysis was done using a 2 mm IonPac® AS16 or 2 mm IonPac® AS20 separator column. The second method was a two-dimensional matrix diversion method with a focus on improving the detection sensitivity. The first dimension was used to achieve some resolution of the matrix ions from perchlorate. The perchlorate ion was then diverted into a concentrator column for subsequent analysis in the second dimension. By pursuing analysis using a 4 mm IonPac® AS16 or IonPac® AS20 column in the first dimension and subsequently pursuing analysis using a 2 mm IonPac® AS16 or IonPac® AS20 column format, excellent sensitivities were achieved when the first and second dimensions were operated at the same linear flow velocity (cm min−1). While sensitive detection of perchlorate in the low μg l−1 regime was achieved by the above methods in the presence of matrix ions, superior recovery for perchlorate was demonstrated under a variety of matrix concentrations by the second method.  相似文献
