New oxide films have been electrodeposited from [P2Mo18O62]6− by potential cycling in mildly acidic aqueous media. To obtain an adherent and persistent film, it is necessary that more than six electrons/molecule be fixed on the framework of the heteropolyanion. The film is then studied in pure supporting electrolyte. In this medium, a remarkable current increase is observed during the potential cycling. Whether the film is deposited on a glassy carbon electrode or on the gold electrode of an electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM), exactly the same steady current increase up to a maximum is obtained in cyclic voltammetric measurements. The EQCM reveals a steady mass increase during the continuous cycling of the film in the supporting electrolyte. This behaviour is interpreted as featuring an irreversible water and electrolyte intake into the film, up to a maximum, after which the phenomena observed during reduction and oxidation processes are taken as featuring intercalation/deintercalation, respectively. This behaviour is much the same as described in the literature for WO3 and MoO3 bronzes, except that the present films seem very stable and have shown no tendency to dissolve or deactivate. We study the frequency polygon investigated by Scott (J Am Stat Assoc 80: 348–354, 1985) as a nonparametric density estimate for a continuous and stationary real random field \({\left( X_{\mathbf{t}},\mathbf{t}\in\mathbb{R}^{N}\right)}\). We establish the asymptotic expressions for the integrated pointwise squared bias and the integrated pointwise squared variance of the estimate when the field is observed over a rectangular domain of \({\mathbb{R}^{N}}\). Under mild mixing conditions, we show that the estimate achieves the same rate of convergence to zero of the integrated mean squared error as kernel estimators and it can also attain the optimal uniform strong rate of convergence \({\left(\widehat{\mathbf{T}}^{-1} \log \widehat{\mathbf{T}}\right)^{1/3}}\) for appropriate choices of the bin widths.  相似文献

A system is considered, which is subject to external and possibly fatal shocks, with dependence between the fatality of a shock and the system age. Apart from these shocks, the system suffers from competing soft and sudden failures, where soft failures refer to the reaching of a given threshold for the degradation level, and sudden failures to accidental failures, characterized by a failure rate. A non-fatal shock increases both degradation level and failure rate of a random amount, with possible dependence between the two increments. The system reliability is calculated by four different methods. Conditions under which the system lifetime is New Better than Used are proposed. The influence of various parameters of the shocks environment on the system lifetime is studied.  相似文献

One of the objectives of the Intergeo project was to provide European mathematics teachers with ??good quality?? pedagogical material supporting the use of dynamic geometry software in classrooms. With this aim in view, an online repository/platform was developed to gather various dynamic geometry resources, based on the idea of a teachers?? community feeding the repository, (re)using available resources and sharing practices related to the use of dynamic geometry in classrooms. The repository is thus open to contributions of any user who can deposit, browse, download and use resources, which naturally raises the question how to handle the resource quality issue in such an open environment. This paper reports on the way we tackled this issue in the Intergeo project. We first explain what we mean by a ??good quality?? dynamic geometry resource. We then provide a rationale behind the design of a questionnaire, the main tool for resource quality reviews, which are at the core of the quality assessment process implemented in the repository. Several experiments carried out with groups of teachers in order to confront our research-based view of the resource quality with the teachers?? one and to observe teachers?? usages of the quality assessment process are also reported in the paper. The outcomes of these experiments highlight strengths and limitations of the resource quality assessment process. They also tend to show that the idea of involving teachers into the resource quality assessment is a promising way of stimulating the use of dynamic geometry in classrooms, provided that teachers benefit from a support to make the quality process their own.  相似文献

We investigate the steady-state rheological behaviour of the lamellar phase of a lyotropic system (CpCl, hexanol, brine) and of a thermotropic system (8CB). Power laws characterize the behaviour of the imposed stress as a function of the measured shear rate and similarities are observed for both systems; the same regime γ˙∼σ m with m≈1.7 is obtained at low shear stresses corresponding to a texture of oily streaks oriented in the direction of the flow, as shown by microscopic observations. The “onion state” only exists in the case of dilute samples of the lyotropic lamellar phase; the stress then varies as γ˙∼σ m with m≈4.8, as already observed by other groups with different systems. Rheological measurements at different temperatures allow determination of different activation energies relating to the still badly understood processes involved in the different rheological regimes. We propose a model which reproduces the experimental power laws and which is based on an analogy with the theory of high-temperature creep in metals and alloys. We study cyclicity of operators on a separable Banach space which admit a bicyclic vector such that the norms of its images under the iterates of the operator satisfy certain growth conditions. A simple consequence of our main result is that a bicyclic unitary operator on a Banach space with separable dual is cyclic. Our results also imply that if is the shift operator acting on the weighted space of sequences , if the weight ω satisfies some regularity conditions and ω(n) = 1 for nonnegative n, then S is cyclic if . On the other hand one can see that S is not cyclic if the series diverges. We show that the question of Herrero whether either S or S* is cyclic on admits a positive answer when the series is convergent.
