The graft polymerization of styrene initiated by immobilized peroxide groups was investigated. Three different types of modification reactions were used to introduce peroxide groups which are directly attached onto the surface of two different silica supports. Silanol groups were chlorinated using thionyl chloride or tetrachlorosilane. In another reaction pathway 1,3,5-benzenetricarbonyl chloride enabled the introduction of free acid chloride residues bonded onto the surface of silica. tert-Butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) was used to transform the chlorosilyl and the acid chloride groups into peroxide residues. In a further reaction step the covalently bonded peroxides initiated the polymerization of styrene to form grafted polystyrene directly attached onto the silica support. Solid-state 13C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric and scanning electron microscope measurements enabled a clear structure and property elucidation of the different bonded phases. The highest amount of grafted polystyrene was achieved employing the acid chloride synthesis pathway with silica-gel, whereas modification of spherical silica only led to minor amounts of grafted polymer. The results contribute to the evolving need to understand particle surface modifications and may have positive impact on development of new HPLC stationary phases for improved elutant resolution.  相似文献

Simulation of ultrasound images based on computed tomography (CT) data has previously been performed with different approaches. Shadow effects are normally pronounced in ultrasound images, so they should be included in the simulation. In this study, a method to capture the shadow effects has been developed, which makes the simulated ultrasound images appear more realistic. The method using a focused beam tracing model gives diffuse shadows that are similar to the ones observed in measurements on real objects. Ultrasound images of a cod (Gadus morhua) were obtained with a BK Medical 2202 ProFocus ultrasound scanner (BK Medical, Herlev, Denmark) equipped with a dedicated research interface giving access to beamformed radio frequency data. CT images were obtained with an Aquilion ONE Toshiba CT scanner (Toshiba Medical Systems Corp., Tochigi, Japan). CT data were mapped from Hounsfield units to backscatter strength, attenuation coefficients, and characteristic acoustic impedance. The focused beam tracing model was used to create maps of the transmission coefficient and scattering strength maps. Field II was then used to simulate an ultrasound image of 38.9 × 55.3 × 4.5 mm, using 10(6) point scatterers. As there is no quantitative method to assess quality of a simulated ultrasound image compared to a measured one, visual inspection was used for evaluation.  相似文献

A modular synthesis of both difurooxa- and difuroazadiborepins from a common precursor is demonstrated. Starting from 2,2′-bifuran, after protection of the positions 5 and 5’ with bulky silyl groups, formation of the novel polycycles proceeds through opening of the furan rings to a dialkyne and subsequent re-cyclization in the borylation step. The resulting bifuran-fused diborepins show pronounced stability, highly planar tricyclic structures, and intense blue light emission. Deprotection and transformation into dibrominated building blocks that can be incorporated into π-extended materials can be performed in one step. Detailed DFT calculations provide information about the aromaticity of the constituent rings of this polycycle.  相似文献

The damaging of 6H-SiC by ion implantation (Ar+, 320 keV) leads to the formation of a light-absorbing surface layer with a thickness of about 0.4 μm and a dielectric function which indicates a disordering of the crystal structure. Raman spectra show the existence of amorphous carbon, silicon and silicon carbide. Ion bombardment with 1.4 MeV He+ ions generates a 3 μm thick surface layer with small lattice distortions and light-absorbing centers and a 0.4 μm thick interface layer with a larger refractive index.  相似文献

We present the first next-to-leading-order QCD analysis of neutrino charm production, using a sample of 6090 and -induced opposite-sign dimuon events observed in the CCFR detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. We find that the nucleon strange quark content is suppressed with respect to the non-strange sea quarks by a factor =0.477 –0.053 +0.063 , where the error includes statistical, systematic and QCD scale uncertainties. In contrast to previous leading order analyses, we find that the strange seax-dependence is similar to that of the non-strange sea, and that the measured charm quark mass,m c =1.70±0.19 GeV/c2, is larger and consistent with that determined in other processes. Further analysis finds that the difference inx-distributions betweenxs(x) and is small. A measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V cd |=0.232 –0.020 +0.018 is also presented.  相似文献
