Preparation and optical properties of composite materials based on polybenzimidazole and silver nanoparticles

Rigid-chain heat resistant polymers (with poly-2,2'-p-oxydiphenylene-5,5′-bisbenzimidazole as example) were impregnated for the first time with a silver-containing precursor in formic acid and in supercritical carbon dioxide. A procedure allowing the precursor reduction to silver nanoparticles both throughout the volume by thermal annealing of the films in the temperature interval 100–150°С and in the targeted mode using lasers operating at 405 and 532 nm was developed. It opens prospects for developing a process for production of heatresistant optical gratings and light guides. The reduces nanoparticles and their agglomerates have the size in the interval 50–200 nm and give a plasmon band in the range 450–460 nm.     

Preparation of Ultramicroporous Materials by Fluidized-Bed Pyrolytic Deposition of Carbon in Pores of a Carbon Matrix

Samples of microporous materials were prepared by pyrolytic deposition of carbon from divinyl in a fluidized bed reactor onto carbon supports obtained from coconut and pine nut shells. The influence exerted on the adsorption capacity for CO2 by the divinyl pyrolysis temperature (in the range 600–750°С) and degree of densification (in the range 6–22%) was studied. Carbon deposition conditions ensuring the specific surface area (S_BET) lower than 5 m2 g^–1 at the adsorption capacity for СО₂ higher than 1 mmol g^–1 for both samples were found.     

Copolymers based on (<Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis>-vinylphenyl)cyclopropylmethyl chlorocinnamate and methyl methacrylate

Abstract—Copolymers of (p-vinylphenyl)cyclopropylmethyl chlorocinnamate with methyl methacrylate were prepared by radical copolymerization. The copolymerization constants were determined, and the Alfrey–Price Q–e parameters were calculated. The possibility of photochemical cross-linking of the copolymer via double bond conjugated with the carbonyl group in the chlorocinnamate moiety and via the cyclopropane ring was demonstrated. The copolymer obtained exhibits sufficiently high photosensitivity (54.5 cm² J^–1) and high refractive index (n _D ²⁰ 1.5890), which opens prospects for using it as a photosensitive base of negative photoresists and in optics.

Evaluation of the biosafety of cyanoacrylate adhesive in vitro

This paper considers the evaluation of the biosafety of cyanoacrylate adhesive in vitro on human multipotent mesenchymal stem cells. This adhesive is intended for medical use, in particular, for X-ray and endovascular interventions. A toxicity study was carried out in a culture of multipotent mesenchymal stem cells isolated from human subcutaneous fat. As a result of the work, the concentration of cyanoacrylate adhesive in lipiodol was chosen, which has the lowest toxicity.     

Representation of the general solution of an equation of the Cauchy–Riemann type with a supersingular circle and a singular point

For a generalized system of the Cauchy–Riemann type with complex conjugation whose coefficients admit a strong singularity on a circle and a weak singularity at a point, we find an integral representation of the general solution.     

Combinatorics of a statistical model constructed from the 2 × <Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis> square lattice

Various weight functions for the model of a 2×n square lattice are defined so that the graded Euler characteristic for the complex corresponding to this model remain equal to the usual one. Differentials preserving these gradings and determining one-dimensional cohomology are also specified.
