Size matters: Nanometer‐sized gaps in aggregates of silver nanoparticles are generated by covering the nanoparticle surface with a bilayer of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The nanometer‐ to micrometer‐sized wells are lithographically generated on polydimethylsiloxane surfaces. The wells filled with the modified nanoparticles (see picture) and the effect of the aggregate size on SERS enhancement are investigated.

This paper is concerned with the broad class of Liner Thermoelastic (LTE) models for Shape Memory Polymers (SMPs) which unifies numerous constitutive theories proposed in the literature for this kind of smart material. In this study, neutron-emission spectra produced by (n,xn) reactions up to 26 MeV for some deformed target nuclei as 165Ho, 181Ta, 184W, 232Th and 238U have been investigated. Also, the mean free path parameter’s effect for (n,xn) neutron-emission spectra has been examined. In the calculations, pre-equilibrium neutron-emission spectra have been calculated by using new evaluated hybrid model and geometry dependent hybrid model, full exciton model and cascade exciton model. The reaction equilibrium component has been calculated by Weisskopf-Ewing model. The obtained results have been discussed and compared with the available experimental data and found agreement with each other. 相似文献

The solubility behavior of well‐defined poly(methyl acrylate) homopolymers as well as polystyrene‐block‐poly (methyl acrylate) block copolymers is discussed in this contribution. A solubility screening in ethanol–water solvent mixtures was performed in a high‐throughput manner using parallel turbidimetry revealing upper critical solution temperature behavior for poly(methyl acrylate). Moreover, the self‐assembly behavior of the block copolymers into micellar structures was investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and cryo‐TEM revealing upper critical solution temperature switchability of the micelles, which was evaluated by DLS at different temperatures. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The compounds 2‐thioxanthone‐thioacetic acid and 2‐(carboxymethoxy)thioxanthone, bimolecular photoinitiators for free radical polymerization, are synthesized and characterized. Their capability to act as initiators for the polymerization of methyl methacrylate was examined. The postulated mechanism is based on the intermolecular electron‐transfer reaction of the excited photoinitiator with the sulfur or oxygen atom of the ground state of the respective photoinitiator followed by decarboxylation. The resulting alkyl radicals initiate the polymerization.
