We have succeeded in detecting ferro-type orbital states in Ca2-xSrxRuO4, which is the first outcome in a 4d Mott transition system by the resonant x-ray scattering interference technique. For x=0 (Mott insulator), the resonant signal for d(xy) orbital ordering is observed even at room temperature, in which the Jahn-Teller distortion is negligible. The signal disappears near the metal-insulator transition. On the other hand, in a metallic phase for x=0.5, orbital polarization with d(yz/zx) character dominates. With lowering temperature, the magnitude of the resonant signal slightly decreases owing to the additional influence of the gamma band with d(xy) character.  相似文献

We apply a novel analysis of the field and angle dependence of the quantum-oscillatory amplitudes in the unconventional superconductor Sr2RuO4 to map its Fermi surface (FS) in unprecedented detail and to obtain previously inaccessible information on the band dispersion. The three quasi-2D FS sheets not only exhibit very diverse magnitudes of warping, but also entirely different dominant warping symmetries. We use the data to reassess recent results on c-axis transport phenomena.  相似文献

We report a study of the magnetization density in the mixed state of the unconventional superconductor Sr2RuO4. On entering the superconducting state we find no change in the magnitude or distribution of the induced moment for a magnetic field of 1 T applied within the Ru O2 planes. Our results are consistent with a spin-triplet Cooper pairing with spins lying in the basal plane. This is in contrast with similar experiments performed on conventional and high- T(c) superconductors.  相似文献

We have investigated a gap structure in the spin-triplet superconductor Sr2RuO4 through the measurement of the 101Ru nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate (101)(1/T1) down to 0.09 K at zero magnetic field. In the superconducting state, 1/T1 in a high-quality sample with T(c) approximately 1.5 K exhibits a sharp decrease without the coherence peak, followed by a T3 behavior down to 0.15 K. This result is in marked contrast to the behavior observed below approximately 0.4 K in samples with lower T(c), where T1T is a constant. This behavior is demonstrated to be not intrinsic. We conclude that the gap structure in Sr2RuO4 is significantly anisotropic, consistent with line-node-like models.  相似文献

We report the results of transport measurements on SrRuO3, Sr3Ru2O7, and CaRuO3. In SrRuO3 and Sr3Ru2O7, our findings are consistent with the predictions of Fermi liquid theory, in contrast to previous reports based on samples with much shorter mean free paths. In CaRuO3, however, a T1.5 power law is seen in the resistivity in the high purity samples studied here. Our work gives concrete evidence that even the metallic state of the ruthenates is highly sensitive to disorder.  相似文献

We report a Raman scattering study of the pressure-induced collapse of the Mott-like phases of Ca3Ru2O7 (T(N)=56 K) and Ca2RuO4 (T(N)=110 K). The pressure dependence of the phonon and two-magnon excitations in these materials indicate (i) a T approximately 0 pressure-induced collapse of the antiferromagnetic (AF) insulating phase above P(*) approximately 55 kbar in Ca3Ru2O7 and P(*) approximately 5-10 kbar in Ca2RuO4, (ii) a remarkable insensitivity of the exchange interaction to pressure in both systems, and (iii) evidence for persistent AF correlations above the critical pressure of Ca2RuO4, suggestive of phase separation involving AF insulator and ferromagnetic metal phases.  相似文献

In Sr2RuO4 the spin excitation spectrum is dominated by incommensurate fluctuations at q = (0.3 0.3q(z)), which arise from Fermi-surface nesting. We show that upon Ti substitution, known to suppress superconductivity, a short range magnetic order develops with a propagation vector (0.307 0.307 1). In Sr2Ru0.91Ti0.09O4, the ordered moment points along the c direction. This finding shows that superconducting Sr2RuO4 is extremely close to an incommensurate spin density wave instability.  相似文献

O 1s x-ray absorption study of the Mott insulator Ca(2)RuO(4) shows that the orbital population of the 4d t(2g) band dramatically changes with temperature. In addition, spin-resolved circularly polarized photoemission study of Ca(2)RuO(4) shows that a substantial orbital angular momentum is induced in the Ru 4d t(2g) band. Based on the experimental results and model Hartree-Fock calculations, we argue that the cooperation between the strong spin-orbit coupling in the Ru 4d t(2g) band and the small distortion of the RuO(6) octahedra causes the interesting changeover of the spin and orbital anisotropy as a function of temperature.  相似文献

Semi‐interpenetrating polymer networks (semi‐IPNs) were prepared by reactions of 2,4‐tolylene diisocyanate (TDI) and hydroxy‐terminated 4‐arm star‐shaped l ‐lactide oligomers (H4LAOn's) with the degrees of polymerization of lactate unit per one arm, n = 3, 5, and 10 in the presence of poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL). Morphologies, thermal, and mechanical properties of the TDI‐bridged H4LAOn (TH4LAOn)/PCL semi‐IPNs were evaluated by comparing with those of poly(l ‐lactide) (PLA)/PCL blends. Compatibility between the two components of the TH4LAOn/PCL semi‐IPN with a PCL content not more than 50 wt % was much better than those of the PLA/PCL blends with the same PCL content. All the TH4LAOn networks were substantially amorphous and their tan δ peak or glass transition temperatures increased with decreasing n value. Most of the semi‐IPNs did not show clear glass transition temperature related to both the components. Tensile toughness and elongation at break for all the TH4LAOn/PCL semi‐IPNs were much higher than those for the PLA/PCL blends with the same PCL content. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym.
