We report the successful application of low-melting inorganic salts with protonated cations (e.g. ammonium) as electrolytes in fuel cells operating in the temperature range 100-200 degrees C, where even with unoptimized electrodes, cell performance is comparable to that of the phosphoric acid fuel cell operating with optimized electrodes in the same temperature range, while open circuit voltages, and efficiencies at low current densities, can be much better--and there is no need for humidification or pressure to sustain performance.  相似文献

This susceptibility of the quadratic, S = 12, XY model as determined by the high-temperature series expansion is presented and compared with experimental data on CoCl2.6H2O and CoBr2.6H2O. For the specific heat of CoCl2.6H2O a similar comparison is made. For kT/|J| > 1.5 a good agreement between theory and experiment is found, yielding J/k = ?2.05 ± 0.1 and ?2.45 ± 0.1 K for the intralayer exchange of the Cl and the Br salt, respectively. These values compare favourably with those available from other sources.  相似文献

The striking increases in response functions observed during supercooling of pure water have been the source of much interest and controversy. Imminent divergences of compressibility etc. unfortunately cannot be confirmed due to pre‐emption by ice crystallization. Crystallization can be repressed by addition of second components, but these usually destroy the anomalies of interest. Here we study systems in which protic ionic liquid second components dissolve ideally in water, and ice formation is avoided without destroying the anomalies. We observe a major heat capacity spike during cooling, which is reversed during heating, and is apparently of first order. It occurs just before the glassy state is reached and is preceded by water‐like density anomalies. We propose that it is the much‐discussed liquid–liquid transition previously hidden by crystallization. Fast cooling should allow the important fluctuations/structures to be preserved in the glassy state for leisurely investigation.  相似文献

The synthesis of thioacetate derivatized oligoanilines designed for molecular electronic device purposes is described. Reversible oxidation between the non-conductive leuco base and conductive emeraldine salt forms of these compounds may produce switching effects and device behavior. The targeted compounds contain a sulfur moiety as a means to connect the molecules to metallic electrodes.  相似文献

We show that, with appropriate doping, the ethersulfone-based electrolytes that we earlier reported to have 5.6 V electrochemical windows but poor cycling performance in Li-ion cells, can succeed. We show they can be used to make cells that, at C/20 charge/discharge rates, have cycling performance equal to those with the standard LiPF6-carbonate electrolytes. A difference in performance that develops at higher C is removed by substituting an ethersulfone with one fewer methyl groups, for lower viscosity.  相似文献

We report a synthetic strategy to link titanium-oxo (Ti-oxo) clusters into metal-organic framework (MOF) glasses with high porosity though the carboxylate linkage. A new series of MOF glasses was synthesized by evaporation of solution containing Ti-oxo clusters Ti16O16(OEt)32, linkers, and m-cresol. The formation of carboxylate linkages between the Ti-oxo clusters and the carboxylate linkers was confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The structural integrity of the Ti-oxo clusters within the glasses was evidenced by both X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) and 17O magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR. After ligand exchange and activation, the fumarate-linked MOF glass, termed Ti-Fum, showed a N2 Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface areas of 923 m2 g−1, nearly three times as high as the phenolate-linked MOF glass with the highest BET surface area prior to this report.  相似文献

Background  

C57BL/6 mice show a relationship during aging between NMDA receptor expression and spatial reference memory performance in a 12-day task. The present study was designed to determine if age-related deficits could be detected with a shorter testing protocol and whether these deficits showed a relationship with NMDA receptors. Mice were trained in a reference memory task for two days in a Morris water maze. Cued testing was performed either after or prior to reference memory testing. Crude synaptosomes were prepared from prefrontal/frontal cortex and hippocampus of the mice that underwent reference memory testing first. NMDA receptor subunit and syntaxin proteins were analyzed with Western blotting.  相似文献
