Summary Methods are described for quantitative extraction of arsenic(III), antimony(III) and bismuth(III) with potassium ethyl xanthate-carbon tetrachloride. The optimum acidity conditions are 0.1–0.2 M hydrochloric acid for arsenic, 1.8–2.5 M hydrochloric acid for antimony and pH 1.5–4.0 for bismuth. From the organic extracts arsenic and antimony are estimated by conventional iodometric methods while bismuth is determined spectrophotometrically at 400 nm. The effect of acidity, reagent concentration, period of extraction and diverse ions are discussed. The infra-red spectra are also described.
Zusammenfassung Verfahren für die Extraktion von As(III), Sb(III) und Bi(III) mit Kaliumäthylxanthat/Tetrachlorkohlenstoff werden beschrieben. Die optimalen Aciditätsbedingungen sind: 0,1–0,2 M HCl für As, 1,8–2,5 M HCl für Sb und pH 1,5–4,0 für Bi. As und Sb werden nach Entfernung des organischen Lösungsmittels jodometrisch bestimmt; Bi wird im gelb gefärbten Extrakt spektrophotometrisch bei 400 nm bestimmt. Der Einflu\ der Acidität, der Reagenskonzentration, der Schütteldauer und verschiedener Fremdionen auf die Extraktion wird besprochen. Die IR-Spektren der gebildeten Komplexe werden diskutiert.相似文献

Stable laws can be tempered by modifying the Lévy measure to cool the probability of large jumps. Tempered stable laws retain their signature power law behavior at infinity, and infinite divisibility. This paper develops random walk models that converge to a tempered stable law under a triangular array scheme. The pneumatic carrier facility (PCF) of Dhruva reactor is being extensively used for neutron activation analysis (NAA) studies pertaining to research work as well as routine sample analysis. This paper focuses on treatment of oily wastewater coming out from the post-treatment unit of petroleum industries where finely divided oil droplets are uniformly dispersed in large volumes of water. Polysulfone (PSf) membranes which had been modified for higher porosity and hydrophilicity through the use of additives such as polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) were used for removal of oil from the oily wastewater. The performances of different PSf membranes were evaluated by treating with pure water as well as with laboratory made oil-in-water (o/w) emulsion. Experiments were carried out with 12 such membranes in a semi-batch filtration cell made of Teflon and the influence of operating conditions such as transmembrane pressure and feed properties such as initial oil concentration and pH of feed solution on membrane performance were investigated. Results show that all the parameters play a key role in permeate flux as well as percent oil separation. Also change in morphological properties of membranes due to addition of different molecular weight PVP and PEG are found to have a significant influence on the permeate flow rate and hence subsequent oil removal. The experimental results showed that oil retentions of almost all the membranes were over 90% and oil concentration in the permeate was below 10 mg/L, which met the requirement for discharge. It was concluded that the ultrafiltration (UF) membranes developed in the study were reasonably resistant to fouling and hence the developed PSf membranes may be considered feasible in treating oily wastewater. 相似文献

The photoinduced electron-transfer reaction between Coumarin dyes and N,N-dimethylaniline has been investigated using steady-state and Time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy in the surface of beta-cyclodextrin in dimethyl formamide (DMF) solvent. The electron-transfer rate constant has been correlated with the free-energy change during the process. We have observed a diffusion-controlled ET process in pure DMF by showing a normal Marcus region. However, the picture is different in presence of cyclodextrin. Here the ET is retarded at higher free-energy region. This unusual feature in bimolecular electron-transfer reaction is assumed to be arising from the different binding possibility of the Coumarin molecules to the cyclodextrin moity. 相似文献

The reaction of ethylene diamine with Cu(NO3)2·3H2O and an excess of NaN3 (1:2:4 molar ratio) lead to the formation of copper-azido based polymer [Cu4(N3)8(en)2]n (1), which has been successfully characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and variable temperature magnetic study. X-ray crystal structure determination of 1 reveals that the structure consists of 1D chains of a centrosymmetric tetranuclear copper(II)-azido cluster, connected through double azido end-to-end bridges. Variable-temperature magnetic studies (between 2 and 300 K) suggest dominant antiferromagnetic interactions in this complex, although ferromagnetic interactions have been observed in all other copper-azido based polymers produced with ethylene diamine reported so far. 相似文献
