We report the synthesis of PbI2 nanorods by reacting lead acetate with elemental iodine at room temperature by virtue of a wet chemical method at mild reactions. The diameters of the obtained PbI2 nanorods are about 54 nm. The present technique may open a new doorway to one-dimensional nanosized rods from the same kind of materials with irregular shape or large size. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared analysis (FTIR), ultraviolet–visible–near infrared analysis (UV–vis–NIR), photoluminescence measurements (PL) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize PbI2 nanorods. The as obtained products were analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction, which confirms the formation of solid PbI2 nanorods. From the UV–vis–NIR studies the band gap of PbI2 nanorod was estimated. The various functional groups present in the PbI2 nanorods were identified by FTIR analysis. Intense photoluminescence was also observed with some spectral tuning possibly giving a range of emission photon energies approximately spanning from 2.1 to 3.5 eV.  相似文献

Heteronuclear dipolar decoupling is an essential requirement for extracting structural information from the 13C NMR spectra of liquid crystals. Efficient schemes for heteronuclear dipolar decoupling in such systems are formulated here by supercycling SWf‐TPPM, a sequence introduced recently for this purpose in rotating solids. These sequences are compared with two other commonly used decoupling schemes in liquid‐crystal NMR, SPINAL‐64 and SWf‐TPPM, by analyzing the intensities of various resonances in the proton decoupled 13C spectrum of the liquid‐crystal 4‐n‐pentyl‐4′‐cyanobiphenyl (5CB). The effectiveness of the decoupling programs with respect to experimental parameters such as RF field strength, decoupler offset frequency and phase angle is also presented. Microsphere‐assisted imaging has emerged as an extraordinary simple technique of obtaining optical super‐resolution. This work addresses two central problems in developing this technology: i) methodology of the resolution measurements and ii) limited field‐of‐view provided by each sphere. It is suggested that a standard method of resolution analysis in far‐field microscopy based on convolution with the point‐spread function can be extended into the super‐resolution area. This allows developing a unified approach to resolution measurements, which can be used for comparing results obtained by different techniques. To develop the surface scanning functionality, the high‐index (n ~ 2) barium titanate glass microspheres were embedded in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) thin‐films. It is shown that such films adhere to the surface of nanoplasmonic structures so that the tips of embedded spheres experience the objects’ optical near‐fields. Based on rigorous criteria, the resolution ~λ/6‐λ/7 (where λ is the illumination wavelength) is demonstrated for arrays of Au dimers and bowties. Such films can be translated along the surface of investigated samples after liquid lubrication. It is shown that just after lubrication the resolution is diffraction limited, however the super‐resolution gradually recovers as the lubricant evaporates.

Use of resonant light forces opens up a unique approach to high‐volume sorting of microspherical resonators with much higher uniformity of resonances compared to that in coupled‐cavity structures obtained by the best semiconductor technologies. In this work, the spectral response of the propulsion forces exerted on polystyrene microspheres near tapered microfibers is directly observed. The measurements are based on the control of the detuning between the tunable laser and internal resonances in each sphere with accuracy higher than the width of the resonances. The measured spectral shape of the propulsion forces correlates well with the whispering‐gallery mode resonances in the microspheres. The existence of a stable radial trap for the microspheres propelled along the taper is demonstrated. The giant force peaks observed for 20‐μm spheres are found to be in a good agreement with a model calculation demonstrating an efficient use of the light momentum for propelling the microspheres.

A program has been developed and initiated at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) for the utilization of SQUID sensors in various application areas. DC SQUID sensors based on Nb-AlO x -Nb Josephson junctions have been designed and developed inhouse along with associated flux-locked loop (FLL) electronics. A compact low field SQUID magnetometer insertible in a liquid helium storage dewar has also been developed inhouse and is in use. Efforts to build a high field SQUID magnetometer, SQUID-DAC system, are in progress. A planar gradiometric DC SQUID sensor for non-destructive evaluation (NDE) application to be used in relatively unshielded environment has been designed and developed. An easily portable NDE cryostat with a small lift-off distance, to be used in external locations has been designed and tested. The magnetic field produced by a given two-dimensional current density distribution is inverted using the Fourier transform technique.  相似文献

A PVC membrane sensor for the selective determination of mebendazole (MBZ) was fabricated. The sensor is based on an ion association of MBZ with silicotungstic acid (STA) as ion pair and bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (BEP) as the plasticizing agent in a PVC matrix. The sensor showed a linear response for MBZ for a concentration range 1.0x10(-6)-5.0x10(-2) M with a Nernstian slope of 55.8 mV/decade (limit of detection 6.3x10(-7) M) in the pH range 4-7. It has a fast response time of <30 s. The sensor showed a very good selectivity for MBZ with respect to a large number of ions. The direct determination of MBZ in pharmaceutical formulations gave results that compare well with the data obtained from the standard method.  相似文献

Six fractions, named TiA - TiF, were obtained by fractionating the crude ethanol extract of the stem bark of Tamarindus indica using column chromatographic techniques. On TLC, fraction TiB showed five bands, TiC three bands, while TiD and TiE showed two bands each. TiC, TiD and TiE were re-eluted with different solvent systems to yield two fractions each, while TiB yielded four. These subfractions were designated B1-B4; C1-C2; D1-D2 and E1-E2, respectively. Tannins, flavonoids and alkaloids, among other components, were detected, albeit in different proportions with respect to fractions and subfractions and were compartmentalized with respect to the solvent systems used. The in vitro antibacterial activity of fractions and subfractions was tested separately and in combinations using the agar well diffusion technique. The susceptibly of test strains (expressed as %) were: 83.3% (TiA and TiB), 75.0% (crude extract and TiC), 66.7% (TiD), 50.0% (TiE) and 16.7% (TiF) when used singly, whereas in combination, the corresponding susceptibilities were 100% (CE), 83.3% (DE), 66.7% (AB, AF, BC, BD, DE and EF), 50% (AC and CD), 33.3% (BE and BF) and 16.7% (AD) against Gram negative bacteria strains and 100% (EF), 80% (DE), 60% (AB, BC and CE), 40% (AC, BD, BF, CF and DF) and 20% (AE, AF, BE and CD) against Gram positive strains. Percentage susceptibility with combinatorial use of re-fractions ranged from 85.7-57.1% and 60-40% against Gram negative and positive strains (TiB subfractions), respectively, 100-85.7% and 40-0% against Gram negative and positive strains (TiC, TiD and TiE sub-fractions).  相似文献
