Global solution on Cauchy problem in nonlinear non-simple thermoelastic materials

We prove a theorem about global existence (in time) of the solution to the initial-value problem for a nonliear system of coupled partial differential equations of fourth order describing the thermoelasticity of non-simple materias. We consider such the case of thim system in which some nonlinear coeffcients can depend not only on the temperature and the gradient of displacement and also on the second derivative of displacement. The corresponding global existence theorem has been proved using the L ^p – L ^q time decay estmates for the solution of the associated linearized problem. Next, we proved the energy estimate in the Sobolev space with constant independent of time. Such an energy estimate allows us to apply the standard continuation argument and to continue the local solution to one desired for all t ∈ (0, ∞)     

Generation of the [NiFe] Hydrogenase Active Site (Sulfur's the One!)

Abstract

Chemical and biochemical methods were used to unravel the unprecedented pathway by which the CN ligands of iron in [NiFe] hydrogenase are introduced. Carbamoyl phosphate is the one carbon precursor of these ligands, and reactions involving a protein cysteinyl sulfur are key for processing this precursor into CN ligands.     

Block-copolymer ordering with a spatiotemporally heterogeneous mobility

Motivated by recent zone annealing measurements on stripe-forming block-copolymer films [B. C. Berry, Nano Lett. 7, 2789 (2007)], we study block-copolymer ordering with a spatiotemporally heterogeneous mobility. Specifically, we implement a time- and space-dependent mobility field in the relaxation of a diblock copolymer self-consistent field theory. The model includes a gradient in the local mobility and intrinsic nanoscale mobility variations characteristic of glass phenomenology. The simulations demonstrate that a spatiotemporally heterogeneous mobility can have a significant influence on microdomain ordering in block-copolymer systems, and that nanoscale dynamic heterogeneities associated with glass formation can impact the structure of the ordered block-copolymer microphase.     

A Nanoscale Metal–Organic Framework to Mediate Photodynamic Therapy and Deliver CpG Oligodeoxynucleotides to Enhance Antigen Presentation and Cancer Immunotherapy

Checkpoint blockade immunotherapy (CBI) awakes a host innate immune system and reactivates cytotoxic T cells to elicit durable response in some cancer patients. Now, a cationic nanoscale metal–organic framework, W-TBP, is used to facilitate tumor antigen presentation by enabling immunogenic photodynamic therapy (PDT) and promoting the maturation of dendritic cells (DCs). Comprised of dinuclear W^VI secondary building units and photosensitizing 5,10,15,20-tetra(p-benzoato)porphyrin (TBP) ligands, cationic W-TBP mediates PDT to release tumor associated antigens and delivers immunostimulatory CpG oligodeoxynucleotides to DCs. The enhanced antigen presentation synergizes with CBI to expand and reinvigorate cytotoxic T cells, leading to superb anticancer efficacy and robust abscopal effects with >97 % tumor regression in a bilateral breast cancer model.
