Cadmium recovery by a sulfate-reducing magnetotactic bacterium, Desulfovibrio magneticus strain RS-1, was investigated. D. magneticus precipitated >95% of cadmium at an initial concentration of 1.3 ppm in the growth medium. Electron microscopic analysis revealed that D. magneticus formed electron-dense particles on its surface when cultivated in the presence of cadmium ions (Cd2+). Sulfide was also found in the precipitate, and the composition ratio of sulfide/cadmium was 0.7. Sixty percent of viable RS-1 cells was recovered by a simple magnetic separation revealing the removal of 58% cadmium from the culture medium.  相似文献

Morphological characterization of the organic-inorganic vesicular nanohybrids, Cerasomes, was performed in aqueous media from two aspects. Firstly, a novel Cerasome-forming lipid having two triethoxysilyl groups in the head moiety was synthesized and the physical property of the Cerasome was investigated. While the morphological stability of the Cerasomes, as evaluated from the vesicular collapse behavior against a micelle-forming nonionic surfactant, Triton-X 100, was extremely higher than that of the conventional phospholipid liposome, the stabilities were comparable to each other for the Cerasomes derived from the dual- and single-head lipids. On the other hand, the surface property of the Cerasome formed with the dual-head lipid more closely resembled the colloidal silica particles rather than that derived from the single-head lipid, as suggested by zeta-potential measurements. Secondly, the effect of the media pH on the morphological stability of the Cerasome formed with the single-head lipid was evaluated and appeared as a time difference in obtaining the morphological stability of the Cerasome. These morphological characteristics of the Cerasomes could be mainly owing to the development of the siloxane network on the vesicular surface.  相似文献

Tetraazathiapentalene derivative 1 reacts with heterocumulenes such as diphenylketene (2) and 2‐pyridylisothiocyanate (5) to give heterocycles 3, 6 and 7 with elimination of methylisothiocyanate. The reactions of thiadiazolopyrimidine derivatives 8a‐b with ethoxycarbonyl isothiocyanate (9) and carbon disulfide (11) gives heterocycles 10 and 12 via thermal decomposition of 1:1 cycloadducts C and D which have a hypervalent sulfur. The introduction of a flavin chromophore on the myoglobin (Mb) surface and an effective electron-transfer (ET) reaction through the flavin were successfully achieved by utilizing the self-assembly of heterostranded coiled-coil peptides. We have prepared a semiartificial Mb, named Mb-1alphaK, in which an amphiphilic and cationic alpha-helix peptide is conjugated at the heme propionate (Heme-1alphaK). Heme-1alphaK has a covalently bound iron-protoporphyrin IX (heme) at the N terminus of a 1alphaK peptide sequence. This sequence was designed to form a heterostranded coiled-coil in the presence of a counterpart amphiphilic and anionic 1alphaE peptide sequence in a parallel orientation. Two peptides, Fla(1)-1alphaE and Fla(31)-1alphaE, both incorporating a 10-methylisoalloxazine moiety as an artificial flavin molecule, were also prepared (Fla=2-[7-(10-methyl)isoalloxazinyl]-2-oxoethyl). Heme-1alphaK was successfully inserted into apomyoglobin to give Mb-1alphaK. Mb-1alphaK recognized the flavin-modified peptides and a two-alpha-helix structure was formed. In addition, an efficient ET from reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide to the heme center through the flavin unit was observed. The ET rate was faster in the presence of Fla(1)-1alphaE than in the presence of Fla(31)-1alphaE or the equivalent molecule that has no peptide chain. These results demonstrate that the introduction of a functional chromophore on the Mb surface can be achieved by using specific peptide-peptide interactions. Moreover, the dependence of the ET rate on the position of the flavin indicated that the distance between the heme active site and the flavin chromophore was regulated by the three-dimensional structure of the designed polypeptide.  相似文献

Improvement of solubility for fullerene (C60) was studied by cogrinding with cycloamyloses using a ball mill in the solid state. Cycloamylose is a novel cyclic alpha-1,4-glucan produced from synthetic amylose by enzymatic reaction. Although sample solutions showed a pale yellow for the initial period of cogrinding with cycloamyloses and C60, the color varied to brown after 48 h. Subsequently, the solubility of C60 was improved markedly to 560 (microg/ml) at 96 h. From powder X-ray diffraction analysis, the peak intensity of crystalline C60 decreased as the cogrinding time was extended. The UV-VIS absorption spectrum of C60 shows absorption bands at 262 and 340 nm in water with cycloamyloses, and 258 and 328 nm in n-hexane. These results suggested that C60 molecules were dispersed into cycloamyloses micellar system and the red-shift of the UV-VIS spectra was due to an intermolecular interaction between C60 and cycloamyloses.  相似文献

A series of poly(dimethylacrylamide-co-2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) microgels slightly crosslinked by methylene-bis-acrylamide (MBA) were polymerized in a novel inverse microemulsion polymerization (IMEP) system. To determine a suitable composition of the IMEP system, the phase diagram of a pseudoternary system was made. The pseudoternary polymerization system consisted of n-hexane, a nonionic surfactant (polyoxyethylene oleyl ether, C18En), and an aqueous monomer solution. Polymerization was performed in a single-phase reversed micelle solution. The reversed micelles were about 50 nm in diameter, as determined by FF-TEM. The viscometric characteristics of the polymers extracted from the IMEP system were studied in 3 mM sodium chloride aqueous solution. The intrinsic viscosity values for the noncrosslinked and crosslinked (0.1 mol% MBA was incorporated) samples were 25 and 7.4 dl/g, respectively. The overlap concentration (c*) of crosslinked polymer microgel occurred at c[eta] = 1 in the solvent. When the volume fraction (phi) of the microgel was 0.7, the value of the apparent yield stress of the microgel solution was observed. These results show that the microgel has a significant thickening effect above c* due to friction between the microgel particles. It is assumed that the microgels polymerized in a confined space retain the shape or size of the nanosized reactor with a diameter on the order of 50 nm.  相似文献

Sub-Doppler high-resolution excitation spectra and the Zeeman effects of the 6(0)(1), 1(0)(1)6(0)(1), and 1(0)(2)6(0)(1) bands of the S1(1)B2u<--S(0)(1)A1g transition of benzene were measured by crossing laser beam perpendicular to a collimated molecular beam. 1593 rotational lines of the 1(0) (1)6(0) (1) band and 928 lines of the 1(0)(2)6(0)(1) band were assigned, and the molecular constants of the excited states were determined. Energy shifts were observed for the S1(1)B2u(v1=1,v6=1,J,Kl=-11) levels, and those were identified as originating from a perpendicular Coriolis interaction. Many energy shifts were observed for the S1(1)B2u(v1=2,v6=1,J,Kl) levels. The Zeeman splitting of a given J level was observed to increase with K and reach the maximum at K=J, which demonstrates that the magnetic moment lies perpendicular to the molecular plane. The Zeeman splittings of the K=J levels were observed to increase linearly with J. From the analysis, the magnetic moment is shown to be originating mostly from mixing of the S1(1)B2u and S2(1)B1u states by the J-L coupling (electronic Coriolis interaction). The number of perturbations was observed to increase as the excess energy increases, and all the perturbing levels were found to be a singlet state from the Zeeman spectra.  相似文献

We describe here a polymer nanosheet assembly that serves as a molecular photoswitching and optical exclusive OR (EXOR) logic gate. Separate polymer nanosheets (monolayers) containing phenanthrene, anthracene, and dinitrobenzene chromophore were prepared by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique (LB films). A bilayer-couple, consisting of phenanthrene (sensitizer) monolayer and dinitrobenzene (acceptor) monolayer, and the other couple, of anthracene monolayer and dinitrobenzene monolayer, were confirmed to function as a photodiode showing current rectification on light irradiation. The two photodiodes are connected as each photocurrent direction becomes opposite. In the polymer photodiode array (LB films), anodic photocurrent was observed when the anthracene was selectively excited. On the other hand, cathodic photocurrent was observed by selective excitation of the phenanthrene. Moreover, the output photocurrent displayed a very small value when the phenanthrene and anthracene were excited simultaneously. The performance is discussed for this gate's application to an optical EXOR logic gate.  相似文献
