We have studied alloying of the nonmagnetic spacer layer with a magnetic material as a method of tuning the interlayer coupling in magnetic multilayers. We have specifically studied the Fe/V(100) system by alloying the spacer V with various amounts of Fe. For some Fe concentrations in the spacer, it is possible to create a competition between antiferromagnetic Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yoshida exchange and direct ferromagnetic exchange coupling. The exchange coupling and transport properties for a large span of systems with different spacer concentrations and thicknesses were calculated and measured experimentally and good agreement between observations and theory was observed. A reduction in magnetoresistance of about 50% was observed close to the switchover from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic coupling.  相似文献

Incorporation of silicon‐containing amino acids in peptides is known to endow the peptide with desirable properties such as improved proteolytic stability and increased lipophilicity. In the presented study, we demonstrate that incorporation of β‐silicon‐β3‐amino acids into the antimicrobial peptide alamethicin provides the peptide with improved membrane permeabilizing properties. A robust synthetic procedure for the construction of β‐silicon‐β3‐amino acids was developed and the amino acid analogues were incorporated into alamethicin at different positions of the hydrophobic face of the amphipathic helix by using SPPS. The incorporation was shown to provide up to 20‐fold increase in calcein release as compared with wild‐type alamethicin.  相似文献

In this work, three forms of a novel octapeptide have been evaluated as asymmetric catalysts for the Michael reaction. Low quantity catalyst loading, ecofriendly solvents, and reusability of organocatalyst successfully applied to attain excellent yields and moderate enantioselectivities in the Michael reaction.

A new abietene diterpene, kaempfolienol (5S,6S,7S,9S,10S,11R,13S-abiet-8(14)-enepenta-6,7,9,11,13-ol, 1), was isolated from a rhizome extract of Kaempferia angustifolia Rosc. along with the known compounds crotepoxide, boesenboxide, zeylenol, 2'-hydroxy-4,4',6'-trimethoxychalcone, (24S)-24-methyl-5α-lanosta-9(11),25-dien-3β-ol, β-sitosterol and β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside. The structures of all compounds were elucidated on the basis of mass spectroscopic and NMR data. Zeylenol (2), the major constituent of the plant, was derivatized into diacetate, triacetate and epoxide derivatives through standard organic reactions. The cytotoxic activity of compounds 1, 2 and the zeylenol derivatives was evaluated against the HL-60, MCF-7, HT-29 and HeLa cell lines.  相似文献

Previously, a hypothetical protein (HP) termed Bleg1_2437 (currently named Bleg1_2478) from Bacillus lehensis G1 was discovered to be an evolutionary divergent B3 subclass metallo-β-lactamase (MBL). Due to the scarcity of clinical inhibitors for B3 MBLs and the divergent nature of Bleg1_2478, this study aimed to design and characterise peptides as inhibitors against Bleg1_2478. Through in silico docking, RSWPWH and SSWWDR peptides with comparable binding energy to ampicillin were obtained. In vitro assay results showed RSWPWH and SSWWDR inhibited the activity of Bleg1_2478 by 50% at concentrations as low as 0.90 µM and 0.50 µM, respectively. At 10 µM of RSWPWH and 20 µM of SSWWDR, the activity of Bleg1_2478 was almost completely inhibited. Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) analyses showed slightly improved binding properties of the peptides compared to ampicillin. Docked peptide–protein complexes revealed that RSWPWH bound near the vicinity of the Bleg1_2478 active site while SSWWDR bound at the center of the active site itself. We postulate that the peptides caused the inhibition of Bleg1_2478 by reducing or blocking the accessibility of its active site from ampicillin, thus hampering its catalytic function.  相似文献

A rapid, simple, and efficient method using ultrasound-assisted emulsification microextraction combined with dispersive micro-solid phase extraction (USAE-D-µ-SPE) was developed for detection and quantification of three azole antifungals in milk samples by high-performance liquid chromatography diode array detector. In this study, mesoporous carbon, COU-2, was used as sorbent in USAE-D-µ-SPE for the extraction and preconcentration of analytes. Several important experimental parameters, including type of deproteinized solvents, desorption time, type of extraction solvents, volume of extraction solvent, extraction time, emulsification time, sample pH, salt addition, and mass of COU-2 sorbent, were optimized using spiked milk samples. Under the optimum extraction and detection conditions, three azole antifungals, namely ketoconazole, clotrimazole, and miconazole, were determined within 20 min, with good linearity of matrix-matched calibration in the range of 0.5–5000.0 µg L?1 with coefficient of determination, r 2 ≥ 0.9943. The method showed limits of detection and limits of quantification of all analytes in the range of 0.15–3.0 and 0.5–10.0 µg L?1, respectively. Good repeatability with RSDs <15% (n = 3) and satisfactory relative recoveries (83.3–111.1%) were obtained for spiked azole antifungal drugs in milk. The results reveal that the developed USAE-D-µ-SPE method was a simple, rapid, efficient, environmentally friendly, and practicable method for the determination of azole antifungals in milk samples.  相似文献
