Amorphous thin film materials with different compositions of Se80?xTe20Snx (0 ≤ x ≤ 10) system have been deposited on glass substrates by a well known thermal evaporation technique. Structural characterization of different compositions of aforementioned system has been done by Raman spectroscopy. The optical properties of thin films have been studied in the wavelength range 200–1100 nm by the utilization of the optical absorbance spectra of deposited thin films. To calculate the optical band gap from the optical absorption spectra, we have used Tauc model that follows the mechanism of allowed ‘non-direct electronic transition’. Subsequently, we have determined the energy band gap, metallization criterion and refractive index of thin films of aforesaid system. The variation in optical properties with composition has been interpreted in terms of density of defect states.  相似文献

In this paper, we have described a simple and secure double random phase encoding and decoding system to encrypt and decrypt a two-dimensional gray scale image. We have used jigsaw transforms of the second random phase mask and the encrypted image. The random phase mask placed in the Fourier plane is broken into independent non-overlapping segments by applying the jigsaw transform. To make the system more secure, a jigsaw transform on the encrypted image is also carried out. The encrypted image is also broken into independent non-overlapping segments. The jigsaw transform indices of random phase code and the encrypted image form the keys for the successful retrieval of the data. Encrypting with this technique makes it almost impossible to retrieve the image without using both the right keys. Results of computer simulation have been presented in support of the proposed idea. Mean square error (MSE) between the decrypted and the original image has also been calculated in support of the technique.  相似文献

Radon concentration levels in water and soil gas from 36 locations pertaining to some areas of Malwa region of Punjab have been measured on an in situ basis using a continuous active radon detector (AlphaGuard, Model – PQ 2000 PRO, Genitron instruments, Germany). Exhalation rate measurements have also been carried out at these places, using a closed-circuit technique. The radon concentrations in soil and water varied from 1.9 to 16.4 kBq m?3 and 5.01 to 11.6 kBq m?3, respectively. The exhalation rate (E Rn) ranged between 7.48 and 35.88 mBq m?2 s?1 with an average value of 18.17 mBq m?2 s?1. Annual dose rates have been calculated for water radon concentrations. The minimum to maximum values of dose rates were found to be 13.42–31.08 μSv y?1. The recorded values of radon concentration in water are within the safe limit of 11 Bq l?1 recommended by the US Environment Protection Agency [National Research Council, Risk Assessment of Radon in Drinking Water (Academy Press, Washington, DC, USA, 1999)]. All measurements were made in similar climatic and environmental conditions to ensure minimal variations in meteorological parameters. An intermediate correlation coefficient (0.5) was observed between radon exhalation rates and soil gas values.  相似文献

Heterocyclic chemistry has fascinated the researchers owing to its wide range of applications in various chemical fields. With this perspective, herein we present an environmentally benign procedure for the synthesis of pyrazole and its derivatives through multicomponent reaction by using SPVA as a heterogeneous acid catalyst. The synthesis protocol of SPVA catalyst includes functionalization of polyvinyl alcohol by sulfonic acid groups. The synthesized SPVA catalyst was then subjected to several characterization techniques to confirm its formation and study its physicochemical properties. The SPVA catalyst was then tested for its activity toward a multicomponent reaction of aromatic aldehyde, malononitrile and phenyl hydrazine. The SPVA catalyst with sufficient acidic sites displayed appreciable catalytic performance yielding 89% of the desired pyrazole product under ambient reaction conditions. The SPVA catalyst showed recyclability up to the sixth cycle without considerable loss in its activity. Furthermore, we made an effort to demonstrate the plausible mechanistic pathway for the SPVA-catalyzed pyrazole synthesis reaction. Interestingly, the present synthetic approach could effectively produce pyrazole products with high yields in the absence of base and solvent and in short reaction time making it a green and sustainable process.

Glass-ceramics are polycrystalline materials formed by controlled crystallization of parent glasses, which can be studied complementarily by XRD and NMR. XRD probes long-range order, while NMR is more element specific and probes the immediate environment around the atoms. These techniques allow considerable insights into the crystalline and amorphous constituents of glass-ceramics. In this article, we highlight some key issues in the characterization of glass-ceramics: phase identification and quantification, and structural characterization of the residual glass. The application of both NMR and XRD techniques are considered in these areas and their advantages and limitations discussed using our recent work and examples from the literature.  相似文献

Temperature dependent dielectric relaxation and thermodynamic properties of polyethylene glycols HO[CH2CH2O)nH with number average molecular weight 200 (n = 4), 300 (n = 7), 400 (n = 9) and 600 (n = 14) g mol− 1 have been studied using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) in the frequency range 10 MHz to 20 GHz. The frequency dependence of the complex dielectric permittivity is analyzed by the Havriliak-Negami expression. The static permittivity ε0, high frequency limiting static permittivity ε, average relaxation time τ0 and thermodynamic energy parameters such as free energy, enthalpy of activation and entropy of activation have been determined. The average free energy of activation ΔFτ for PEG molecules was found to be in the range 4-5 kcal mol− 1. The values of entropy ΔSτ for PEG-200, PEG-400 and PEG-600 molecules were found to be positive while entropy ΔSτ for PEG-300 molecules was found negative, which confirms that the configuration of PEG-300 involved in the dipolar orientation has an activated state, which is more ordered than the normal state compared to PEG-200, PEG-400 and PEG-600 molecules.  相似文献

We study the properties of D and [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons in hot isospin asymmetric strange hadronic matter, arising due to their interactions with the hadrons in the hyperonic medium. The interactions of D and [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons with these light hadrons are derived by generalizing the chiral SU(3) model used for the study of hyperonic matter to SU(4). The nucleons, hyperons, the scalar isoscalar meson, σ and the scalar-isovector meson, d \delta as modified in the strange hadronic matter, modify the masses of D and [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons. It is found that, as compared to the [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons ([`(D0)] \bar{{D^0}}, D ), the properties of the D mesons (D 0, D +) are more sensitive to the isospin asymmetry at high densities. On the other hand, the effects of strangeness fraction are found to be more dominant for the [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons as compared to the D mesons and these modifications are observed to be particularly appreciable at high densities. We also study the mass modifications of the charmonium states J/ψ, ψ(3686) and ψ(3770) in the isospin asymmetric strange hadronic matter at finite temperatures and investigate the possibility of the decay of the charmonium states into D [`(D)] \bar{{D}} pairs in the hot hadronic medium. The mass modifications of these charmonium states arise due to their interaction with the gluon condensates of QCD, simulated by a scalar dilaton field introduced to incorporate the broken scale invariance of QCD within the effective chiral model. The effects of finite quark masses are taken into account in the trace of the energy momentum tensor in QCD, while investigating the medium modification of the charmonium masses through the modification of the gluon condensate in the medium. We also compute the partial decay widths of the charmonium states to the D [`(D)] \bar{{D}} pairs in the hadronic medium. The strong dependence on density of the in-medium properties of the D, [`(D)] \bar{{D}} and the charmonium states, as well as the partial decay widths of charmonium states to D [`(D)] \bar{{D}} pairs, found in the present investigation, will be of direct relevance in observables like open charm enhancement as well as J/ψ suppression in the compressed baryonic matter (CBM) experiments at the future Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research, GSI, where the baryonic matter at high densities is planned to be produced.  相似文献

We report extracellular biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles by Fusarium solani (USM-3799), a phytopathogen causing disease in onion, when challenged with 1 mM silver nitrate (AgNO3). The formation of nanoparticles was characterized by visual observation followed by UV–Vis spectrophotometric analysis, which showed a peak at about 420 nm, which is very specific for silver nanoparticles. Further analysis carried out by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), provides evidence for the presence of proteins as capping agent, which helps in increasing the stability of the synthesized silver nanoparticles. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) investigations confirmed that silver nanoparticles were formed. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were found to be polydispersed, spherical in the range of 5–35 nm with average diameter of 16.23 nm. Extracellular synthesis of nanoparticles could be highly advantageous from the point of view of synthesis in large quantities and easy downstream processing.  相似文献

In the present work, lead-free piezoelectric ceramics (Na0.5Bi0.5)TiO3xCuO–yNiO (for x = 0.0, 0.02, 0.04 and 0.06) have been prepared by a conventional solid-state reaction method. An investigation of CuO and NiO doping in bismuth sodium titanate (BNT) and a study of the structure, morphology, and dielectric and ferroelectric properties of the NBT–CuNi system have been conducted. Phase and microstructural analysis of the (Na0.5Bi0.5)TiO3 (NBT) based ceramics has been carried out using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) images showed that inhibition of grain growth takes place with increasing Cu and Ni concentration. The results indicate that the co-doping of NiO and CuO is effective in improving the dielectric and ferroelectric properties of NBT ceramics. Temperature-dependent dielectric studies have also been carried out at room temperature to 400 °C at different frequencies. The NBT ceramics co-doped with x = 0.06 and y = 0.06 exhibited an excellent dielectric constant ?r = 1514. The study suggests that there is enormous scope of application of such materials in the future for actuators, ultrasonic transducers and high-frequency piezoelectric devices.  相似文献

The epidemic model of diffusion of news (or disease) is generalized to describe the diffusion of a multi‐component information. The multivaluedness of information in our model arises due to the large number (k) of constituent components or items of the information in question. When the different components of information are assumed to bear no hierarchy, the master equation of the model contains an intractably large number of variables (2 k ). The dynamics of the model, however, displays some simplifying features, one of which is the conservation of homogeneity of distribution of population over the different information vectors (in the sense defined in the text). The homogenized version of the model is found to be numerically tractable. The growth curves for large k continue to display sigmoid shapes, but with large ‘saturation times’. The dependence of ‘saturation time’ (i.e. the time required for spread of all the information in almost the entire population) on various parameters of the model, for uniform initial distributions, is numerically investigated. The ‘saturation time’ is found to vary inversely with the intensity of interaction (ß) and the size of population (N), as expected. An important numerical feature that emerges is that the ‘saturation time’ seems to be in linear proportion to the number of information items (k).  相似文献
