Zeta potential is a physico-chemical parameter of particular importance to describe sorption of contaminants at the surface of gas bubbles. Nevertheless, the interpretation of electrophoretic mobilities of gas bubbles is complex. This is due to the specific behavior of the gas at interface and to the excess of electrical charge at interface, which is responsible for surface conductivity. We developed a surface complexation model based on the presence of negative surface sites because the balance of accepting and donating hydrogen bonds is broken at interface. By considering protons adsorbed on these sites followed by a diffuse layer, the electrical potential at the head-end of the diffuse layer is computed and considered to be equal to the zeta potential. The predicted zeta potential values are in very good agreement with the experimental data of H2 bubbles for a broad range of pH and NaCl concentrations. This implies that the shear plane is located at the head-end of the diffuse layer, contradicting the assumption of the presence of a stagnant diffuse layer at the gas/water interface. Our model also successfully predicts the surface tension of air bubbles in a KCl solution. 相似文献

We improved GC-MS analysis of onion volatiles by comparing organic solvent partition with solid-phase microextraction (SPME) following cryo-trapping isolation and by comparing the same extraction methods on direct onion juice. Cryotrapping produces very small quantities of volatiles and therefore is not a suitable extraction method for GC-MS analysis. We confirm that SPME accelerates the degradation of labile thiosulfinates but the lacrymatory factor remains intact. The identification of Allium thiosulfinates is only obtained on juice extracted by diethyl ether using a fast GC-MS analysis on a 10 m X 0.3 mm column of 4 microm coating, with routine splitless injection. The lacrymatory factor is best analysed directly on fresh onion juice by SPME with the same chromatographic conditions. To characterise and to quantify all the true onion volatiles, we propose to analyse the same sample by successive SPME-GC-MS and solvent extraction-GC-MS. 相似文献

Recent work of Pickett has given a construction of self-dual normal bases for extensions of finite fields, whenever they exist. In this article we present these results in an explicit and constructive manner and apply them, through computer search, to identify the lowest complexity of self-dual normal bases for extensions of low degree. Comparisons to similar searches amongst normal bases show that the lowest complexity is often achieved from a self-dual normal basis. 相似文献

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films have been grown on Si substrates at ambient temperature by the pulsed-laser ablation technique,
using pulses of different durations both in the nano- and picosecond ranges and at various energy fluences. The stability
of these films was investigated as a function of thermal anneals performed in UHV conditions up to 1273 K. Their physico-chemical
properties have been characterized by different techniques including X-ray photo-emission, Auger electron and electron-energy-loss
spectroscopies, Raman scattering, spectroscopic ellipsometry and atomic-force microscopy. The thermal stability of the films
has been demonstrated to be related to their initial structural (sp3/sp2 ratio) and chemical (contaminant) properties. DLC layers prepared under optimized conditions have been found to show a very
good thermal stability up to 900 K.

The quality of garlic and garlic products is usually related to their alliin content and allicin release potential. Until now no analytical method was able to quantify simultaneously allicin, its direct precursor alliin (S-allyl-L-cysteine sulfoxide), SAC (S-allyl-L-cysteine) as well as various dipeptides that apparently serve as storage compounds in garlic. It is well known that all these intermediates are involved in the allicin biosynthetic pathway. A simple and rapid HPLC method suitable for routine analysis was developed using eluents containing an ion-pairing reagent. Particularly, heptanesulfonate as ion-pairing reagent guarantees a sufficient separation between alliin and the more retained dipeptides at very low pH. Allicin was eluted after 18 min on a 150 x 3 mm column. Synthetic reference compounds were characterized by the same chromatographic method using a diode-array UV detector and an ion trap mass spectrometer (electrospray ionization) in the multiple MS mode. In routine analysis of garlic bulbs, powders and other products, the diode-array detector is sufficient for a relevant quantification. Our method has been used in studies to improve the quality of garlic and its derived products. 相似文献

Opacities of four medium Z element plasmas (iron, nickel, copper and germanium) have been measured at the LULI-2000 facility in similar conditions: temperatures between 15 and 25 eV and densities between 2 and 10 mg/cm3, in a wavelength range (8–18 Å) including the strong 2p–3d structures.Two laser beams from the LULI facility were used in the nanosecond-picosecond configuration. The NANO-2000 beam (at λ = 0.53 μm) heated a gold hohlraum with an energy between 30 and 150 J with a duration of 0.6 ns. Samples covering half a hohlraum hole were thus radiatively heated. The picosecond pulse PICO-2000 beam (at λ = 1.053 μm) has been used to produce a short (about 10 ps) X-ray backlighter in order to reduce time variations of temperatures and densities during the measurement. A crystal high-resolution spectrometer was used as the main diagnostic to record at the same time the non-absorbed and the absorbed backlighter spectra. Radiation temperatures were measured using a broadband spectrometer. 1D and 2D simulations have been performed in order to estimate hydrodynamic plasmas parameters.The measured spectra have been compared with theoretical ones obtained using either the superconfiguration code SCO or the detailed term accounting code HULLAC. These comparisons allow us to check the modeling of the statistical broadening and of the spin-orbit splitting of the 2p–3d transitions and related effects such as the interaction between relativistic subconfigurations belonging to the same non-relativistic configuration. 相似文献

The present study focuses on the interaction of hydrogen microwave CVD plasma with nanodiamonds (NDs). Hydrogen treated NDs (H-NDs) were characterized using electron spectroscopies (XPS, AES) without air exposure. A surface temperature higher than 700 °C is needed to remove the oxygen present on raw NDs. The kinetics of oxygen removal were investigated. Moreover, UHV annealings of H-NDs after ageing in ambient air clearly underline that 75% of the oxygen is related to physisorbed species. Finally, H-NDs were efficiently grafted using photochemical reaction with alkenes and a spontaneous coupling of aryldiazonium salts. These results confirm similar electronic surface properties between bulk and nano diamond materials. 相似文献
