A simple, sensitive and inexpensive flow injection solid phase extraction (SPE) system was developed for automatic determination of trace level concentrations of metals. The potentials of this novel scheme, coupled to flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), were demonstrated for trace cadmium and lead determination in environmental water samples. The method was based on on-line chelate complex formation of target species with ammonium diethyldithiophosphate (DDTP), retention onto the surface of reversed-phase poly(divinylbenzene-N-vinylpyrrolidone) co-polymeric beads (Oasis HLB) and elution with methanol prior to atomization. A special PVC adapter was designed for easy and rapid replacement of the commercially available SPE cartridge. All main chemical and hydrodynamic parameters affecting the complex formation, sorption and elution of the analyte were optimized thoroughly. Moreover, the effect of potential interfering species occurring in environmental samples was also explored. For 90 s preconcentration time, enhancement factors of 155 and 180, detection limits (3s) of 0.09 μg L− 1 and 0.9 μg L− 1 and relative standard deviations (R.S.D.) of 2.9% (at 4.0 μg L− 1) and 2.6% (at 20.0 μg L− 1) were obtained for cadmium and lead, respectively, with a sample throughput of 24 h− 1. The measurement trueness of the developed method was evaluated by analyzing a certified reference material and spiked environmental water samples. The proposed method is well suited to detect the target elements at concentration levels below the maximum allowed concentrations endorsed by the European Framework Directive (2008/105/EC) in inland and coastal waters.  相似文献

A time-based sequential dispensing on-line column preconcentration procedure for mercury determination at trace levels by cold vapour generation inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (CV-ICP-AES), by means of a unified module of a preconcentration column and a gas–liquid separator (PCGLS) is described. The complex of mercury formed on-line with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) is retained on the surface of the hydrophobic poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) turnings, which are packed into the lower compartment of the PCGLS. Subsequently, mercury vapour is generated directly on the PTFE turnings by reductant SnCl2 and separated from the liquid mixture via the PCGLS by argon purge gas. The outlet of the PCGLS is connected directly to the torch adapter of the plasma without the normal spray chamber and nebulizer. With 60-s preconcentration time and 12.0 mL min–1 sample flow rate, the sampling frequency is 30 h–1. The calibration curve is linear over the concentration range 0.02–5.0 g L–1, the detection limit (cL) is 0.01 g L–1 and the relative standard deviation (sr) is 3.1% at the 1.0 g L–1 level. The proposed method was evaluated by analysis of BCR CRM 278 (Mytilus Edulis) reference material and applied to the determination of total mercury in digested urine, blood and hair samples.  相似文献

A rapid and sensitive time-based flow injection (FI) method for on-line preconcentration and determination of lead by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) turnings as packing material in a micro-column, has been developed. The sample was mixed on-line with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) and the non-charged Pb(II)-PDC complex was absorbed quantitatively on the hydrophobic PTFE material, at a pH range 1.4-3.2. The preconcentrated complex was effectively eluted with isobutyl methyl ketone (IBMK) and introduced into the nebulizer-burner system. A nested coil (NC) is proposed for parking the eluate temporarily, in order to enable different elution and nebulization flow rates. With 180 s preconcentration time the sample frequency was 15 h(-1), and the enhancement factor was 330 at 13.0 ml min(-1) sample flow rate. The detection limit was c(L)=0.8 mug l(-1), the relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) 2.6% at the 30 mug l(-1) level and the calibration curve was linear over the concentration range 1.6-100 mug l(-1). The proposed method was evaluated by analyzing certified reference materials of water, sediments and fish tissue. Finally, it was applied successfully to the analysis of various environmental samples.  相似文献

A simple, sensitive and low cost, flow injection time-based method was developed for on-line preconcentration and determination of copper, lead and chromium(VI) at sub mug l(-1) levels in natural waters and biological samples. At the optimum pH, the on-line formed metal-ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) complexes were sorbed on the unloaded commercial polyurethane foam (PUF), and subsequent eluted quantitatively by isobutylmethylketone and determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). All chemical, and flow injection variables were optimized for the quantitative preconcentration of each metal and a study of interference level of various ions was also carried out. The system offered improved flexibility, low backpressure and applicability to all the studied metals. At a sample frequency of 36 h(-1) and a 60 s preconcentration time, the enhancement factor was 170, 131 and 28, the detection limit was 0.2, 1.8 and 2.0 mug l(-1), and the precision, expressed as relative standard deviation (s(r)), was 2.8 (at 10 mug l(-1)), 3.4 (at 50 mug l(-1)) and 3.6% (at 50 mug l(-1)) for Cu(II), Pb(II) and Cr(VI), respectively. The accuracy of the developed method was sufficient and evaluated by the analysis of certified reference materials and spiked water samples. Finally, the method was applied to the analysis of environmental samples.  相似文献

A novel automatic sequential injection (SI) single-drop micro-extraction (SDME) system is proposed as versatile approach for on-line metal preconcentration and/or separation. Coupled to electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) the potentials of this SI scheme are demonstrated for trace cadmium determination in water samples. A non-charged complex of cadmium with ammonium diethyldithiophosphate (DDPA) was produced and extracted on-line into a 60 μL micro-drop of di-isobutyl ketone (DIBK). The extraction procedure was performed into a newly designed flow-through extraction cell coupled on a sequential injection manifold. As the complex Cd(II)-DDPA flowed continuously around the micro-droplet, the analyte was extracting into the solvent micro-drop. All the critical parameters were optimized and offered good performance characteristics and high preconcentration ratios. For 600 s micro-extraction time, the enhancement factor was 10 and the sampling frequency was 6 h−1. The detection limit was 0.01 μg L−1 and the precision (RSD at 0.1 μg L−1 of cadmium) was 3.9%. The proposed method was evaluated by analyzing certified reference material.  相似文献

Magnetotransport through one or several quasi-one-dimensional rings, in the presence of the Rashba (RSOI) and Dresselhaus (DSOI) terms of the spin–orbit interaction (SOI) and of a magnetic field B, is investigated. The RSOI field and an effective DSOI field are taken as ER=ER(sinγ1er+cosγ1ez) and ED=ED(sinγ2er+cosγ2ez), their strengths are denoted by α and β, respectively. The exact one-electron eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are obtained and used to evaluate the transmission as a function of α, β, and of the angles γ1,γ2. Because the RSOI term couples the electronic orbit (along the θ direction) with the Pauli matrices σz and σr while the DSOI term couples it with σθ, they affect the electronic spin transport through a ring in distinctly different ways. The resulting transmission shows a considerable structure as a function of the angles γ1 or γ2. The same holds for the transmission, versus α or β, with the SOI present only in one arm of the ring and for that through two rings with the same or different radii. Various results of the literature, valid for β=0, are readily recovered. For weak magnetic fields the influence of the Zeeman term on the transmission, assessed by perturbation theory, is negligible.  相似文献
