Restriction theorems for Higgs principal bundles

We prove analogues of Grauert–Mülich and Flenner?s restriction theorems for semistable principal Higgs bundle over any smooth complex projective variety.     

Tempered stable laws as random walk limits

Stable laws can be tempered by modifying the Lévy measure to cool the probability of large jumps. Tempered stable laws retain their signature power law behavior at infinity, and infinite divisibility. This paper develops random walk models that converge to a tempered stable law under a triangular array scheme. Since tempered stable laws and processes are useful in statistical physics, these random walk models can provide a basic physical model for the underlying physical phenomena.     

Synthesis of sugar-derived spiroaminals via lactamization and metathesis reactions

A series of sugar-derived spiroaminals has been synthesized by utilizing cross metathesis, ring closing metathesis and lactamization reactions as key steps from 1-C-alkylated glycosyl azides and important correlations in the spectral data between spiroaminals and their respective anomers are reported.     

Shape and size mimicry in the design of ternary molecular solids: towards a robust strategy for crystal engineering

2- and 5-methylresorcinol form co-crystals with 4,4'-bipyridine in which some of the bipyridine molecules are loosely bound. These molecules can be replaced with other molecules of a similar shape and size to give a general method for the engineering of a ternary co-crystal.     

Activation and Conversion of Molecular Nitrogen to the Precursor of Ammonia on Silicon Substituted Cyclo[18]Carbon: a DFT Design

Recent synthesis of sp-hybridized cyclo[18]carbon allotrope has attracted immense curiosity. Since then, a generous amount of theoretical studies concerning aromaticity, adsorption, and spectra of the molecule have been performed. However, very few stuides have been carried out concerning its reactivities and catalytic behaviour. In this article, a DFT-based inquisition has been reported regarding the reactivity of Si substituted cyclo[18]carbon molecule towards molecular N₂. Results show that the Si substituted derivative is effective in producing adducts with molecular nitrogen. Charge calculations and IRC trapping methods indicate that only the Si center of C₁₇Si and its (HOMO-1) level participate in N₂ addition. The N-adduct so formed, is then found to spontaneously react with molecular H₂. The addition of two H₂ molecules to the activated nitrogen molecule to give respective amine derivatives have also been studied. The successful generation of the precursor of NH₃ by C₁₇Si lays a clear emphasis on its potentiality.     

Utility of a Ferrocene Unit in a Cyclometallated Cp*Ir(III) Catalyst during Water Oxidation: Exploring Bimetallic Cooperativity

Ferrocene functionalized 2-phenylpyridine iridium(III) pentamethylcyclopentadienyl complex is synthesized and probed for oxygen evolution from water. The excellent activity of this system has been rationalized by proposing a Fe(III)/Ir(IV) transient intermediate where bimetallic redox synergism between the Fe and Ir centres possibly provide an alternative pathway rather than a conventional Ir(V) based cycle.     

PEG‐Biscyanoacrylate Crosslinker for Octyl Cyanoacrylate Bioadhesive

PEG400 (polyethylene glycol, M_W 400) biscyanoacrylate is synthesized and copolymerized with 2‐octyl cyanoacrylate for potential use as bioadhesive. PEG400 biscyanoacrylate is synthesized from the esterification of anthracenyl cyanoacrylic acid where the anthracene unit serves as vinyl‐protecting group. Copolymerization increases the plasticity, mechanical strength, and resilience of the resulted polymer as determined by dynamic mechanical analysis. Peeling test confirms its superior bioadhesive properties. Surface morphology is characterized by SEM imaging. The formulations are cytocompatible and safe. This cyanoacrylate composition may provide improved bioadhesive cyanoacrylates.
