The suitability of a portable gas chromatograph equipped with a micro-thermal conductivity detector for the head-space determination of carbon monoxide (CO) in tuna samples is evaluated; CO is estimated after its liberation from tissue by acidic treatment at 70 degrees C. Using the tested technique, the CO contents in untreated and suspected treated samples are analyzed. A limit of detection of approximately 13 ng/g is reached. The results demonstrate that this apparatus has performances similar to more expensive and sophisticated instruments.  相似文献

The growing demand for low cost and easy to use analytical devices requires the development of reliable and rapid deposition strategies suitable for changing easily planned designs and applicable to a wide range of materials for assembling conductive tracks and sensitive elements. Further important challenges to be pursued are the possibility of using readily available instrumentation and reducing power consumption and hazardous chemical waste. This review provides an overview of the use of portable day‐to‐day writing tools, such as pencils and pens, for the rapid and on‐demand deposition of conductive patterns on different substrates, with particular emphasis on the assembly of “Do It Yourself” sensors. Moreover, layer‐by‐layer deposition of simple or even complex three dimensional (3D) circuits, resorting to pressure driven extrusion of conductive filaments is considered. Future perspectives and potentiality of these emerging technologies for assembling sensors are also explored.  相似文献

In the present study, we used a mutation scanning-targeted sequencing approach to assess variation in part (pgp60) of the 60 kDa glycoprotein (gp60) gene among Cryptosporidium samples from humans in Victoria, Australia. Two nuclear ribosomal loci (the small subunit rRNA gene and the second internal transcribed spacer) were used to identify the samples as Cryptosporidium hominis (n = 74), Cryptosporidium parvum (n = 23) or Cryptosporidium meleagridis (n = 1). In total, nine distinct pgp60 sequences were identified (three C. hominis, five C. parvum and one C. meleagridis). Phylogenetic analyses of the pgp60 sequence data, employing well-defined reference sequences for comparison, allowed the genotypic and subgenotypic classification of samples. The C. hominis samples were classified as Ib A10G2R2, Id A15G1R2, and a new genotype, designated Ib2, was identified subgenotypically as A18G1R4. The C. parvum samples were classified as IIa A18G3R1, IIa A20G3R1, IIa A22G3R1, IIa A23G3R1 and IIc A5G3R2. These findings suggested that the C. hominis metapopulation is largely homogeneous, consisting of a single dominant genotype, Ib A10G2R2, whereas the C. parvum metapopulation is considerably more heterogeneous, with no single dominant genotype. The greater level of genetic heterogeneity found among the C. parvum samples, despite the smaller sample size, may relate to the zoonotic infection pattern of this species, which would be reflective of a greater number of possible infection sources. The present mutation scanning approach, coupled with targeted sequencing of genetically distinct representatives, is a practical, cost-effective tool for large-scale population genetic and epidemiological studies of Cryptosporidium and other eukaryotic organisms.  相似文献

Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of glucose derivatives on gold have been prepared from alpha- and beta-glucopyranosylamide derivatives. The glucosyl conjugates were synthesized stereoselectively via the in situ generation of glucosyl isoxazolines followed by treatment with thiopyridyl esters. The resulting film structures were characterized by atomic force microscopy, reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The experimental data indicated that alpha- or beta-linked glucopyranosylamide derivatives with free hydroxyl groups attach to gold via the thiol linker. Both derivatives form monolayer films with high packing densities--comparable to those typically observed for alkanethiol monolayers on gold. Acetate analogues of these conjugates do not form SAMs on gold; they form multilayered films under identical deposition conditions.  相似文献

The synthesis and full characterization of the redox-active nickel triad mixed-ligand dithiolene complexes based on Bz(2)pipdt = 1,4-dibenzylpiperazine-3,2-dithione and dmit = 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolate ligands are reported. These complexes show a reversibly bleacheable solvatochromic peak and a remarkably high negative molecular first hyperpolarizability, whose values depend on the metal being highest for the platinum(II) compound.  相似文献

A flow-injection impedimetric immunosensor for the sensitive, direct and label-free detection of cholera toxin is reported. A limit of detection smaller than 10 pM was achieved, a value thousands of times lower than the lethal dose. The developed chips fulfil the requirement of low cost and quick reply of the assay and are expected to enable field screening, prompt diagnosis and medical intervention without the need of specialized personnel and expensive equipment, a perspective of special relevance for use in developing countries. Since the chip layout includes two sensing areas each one with a 2 × 2 sensor array, our biochips can allow statistical or (alternatively) multiplex analysis of biorecognition events between antibodies immobilized on each working electrode and different antigens flowing into the chamber.  相似文献

The mixed-ligand dithiolene complex [Pt(Bz(2)pipdt)(dcbdt)] (1) bearing the two ligands Bz(2)pipdt = 1,4-dibenzyl-piperazine-3,2-dithione and dcbdt = dicyanobenzodithiolato, has been synthesized, characterized and studied to evaluate its second-order optical nonlinearity. The dithione/dithiolato character of the two ligands gives rise to an asymmetric distribution of the charge in the molecule. This is reflected by structural data showing that in the C(2)S(2)PtS(2)C(2) dithiolene core the four sulfur atoms define a square-planar coordination environment of the metal where the Pt-S bond distances involving the two ligands are similar, while the C-S bond distances in the C(2)S(2) units exhibit a significant difference in Bz(2)pipdt (dithione) and dcbdt (dithiolato). 1 shows a moderately strong absorption peak in the visible region, which can be related to a HOMO-LUMO transition, where the dcbdt ligand (dithiolato) contributes mostly to the HOMO, and the Bz(2)pipdt one (dithione) mostly to the LUMO. Thus this transition has ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (CT) character with some contribution of the metal and undergoes negative solvatochromism and molecular quadratic optical nonlinearity (μβ(0) = -1296 × 10(-48) esu), which was determined by the EFISH (electric-field-induced second-harmonic generation) technique and compared with the values of similar complexes on varying the dithiolato ligand (mnt = maleonitriledithiolato, dmit = 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolato). Theoretical calculations help to elucidate the role of the dithiolato ligands in affecting the molecular quadratic optical nonlinearity of these complexes.  相似文献
