ESR and electronic spectroscopy have reveled that in low-temperature ZnO the copper ions form Cu–O–Cu type cluster structures with highly covalent bonds and strong exchange interaction between the ions. Some peculiarities in ESR spectra of titanium complexes in catalysts for isoprene polymerization in excess A1R3

It has been established that at low temperatures of TiCl₄+AOC catalyst preparation in solution (with Ti/Al1/15), ESR spectra exhibit rhombic anisotropy of the g-factor. Experiments with the sample having 61 % concentration of⁴⁷Ti isotopes suggest the formation of associates of Ti³⁺ with magnetic ordering, apparently due to the Jahn-Teller cooperative effect.

State of copper ions, bond energy of oxygen and catalytic properties in hydrogen oxidation for a copper-magnesium system

The bond energy of surface oxygen in a copper-magnesium catalyst and its reactivity are shown to be greatly dependent on the structure of the nearer environment of copper ions. For catalysts prepared at low temperatures (773 K) this structure changes from a symmetrical square planar in CuO to an octahedral with various degrees of axial distortion depending on the copper content.

Specificity of states of Cu2+ ions in ZSM zeolites due to the cooperative Jahn-Teller effect

Crystalline silicate of ZSM zeolite structure was synthesized via hydrothermal crystallization at large contents of copper. ESR spectra of Cu²⁺ ions stabilized in this system are determined by the specific ordering due to the cooperative Jahn-Teller effect of Cu²⁺ ions with the d_x ²–y² ground state.
