We experimentally demonstrate the first integrated temporal Fourier transformer based on a linearly chirped Bragg grating waveguide written in silica glass with a femtosecond laser. The operation is based on mapping the energy spectrum of the input optical signal to the output temporal waveform by making use of first-order chromatic dispersion. The device operates in reflection, has a bandwidth of 10 nm, and can be used for incident temporal waveforms as long as 20 ps. Experimental results, obtained through both temporal oscilloscope traces and Fourier transform spectral interferometry, display a successful Fourier transformation of in-phase and out-of-phase pairs of input optical pulses, and demonstrate the correct functionality of the device for both amplitude and phase of the temporal output.  相似文献

We present the fabrication and optical investigation of highly random self-assembled, nano-scale films, probing their influence on the luminescence properties of near surface CdSe/ZnS colloidal quantum dots. When compared to quantum dots distributed on unstructured quartz substrates, the average luminescence intensity is found to be enhanced by a factor of 160×. The silver nanoparticles are prepared using slow thermal evaporation on quartz substrates and post-deposition annealing to produce a randomly-arranged layer of smooth nano-islands. Clear polarization dependent hot spots are observed. Such hot spots deliver a maximal enhancement of the emission intensity of 240× and have a spatial density of (0.050±0.002) μm − 2. The results show that silver nano-island films strongly enhance the optical efficiency of near quantum dots emitters.  相似文献

We present a low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy study of the alpha-Sn/Si(111) surface that demonstrates the fluctuating behavior of the Sn adatoms. The dynamical fluctuation model, successfully applied in describing the alpha-Sn/Ge(111) surface, is proposed for the related alpha-Sn/Si(111) surface too, although with a much lower transition temperature. In addition, a new phenomenon appears responsible for the unexpected evidence that the average oscillation frequency remains constant at temperatures lower than 15 K, in contradiction to the Arrhenius law. We explain this phenomenon as quantum tunneling of Sn adatoms.  相似文献

The purpose of the present article is to extend the scope of some investigations about abstract logics arising quite naturally out of Quasi-MV algebras (for short, qMV algebras) also to ?{}\sqrt{^{\prime}} qMV algebras. We will therefore introduce, mutually compare and (in some cases) axiomatise several logics arising out of the variety of ?{}\sqrt{^{\prime}} qMV algebras and out of some important subclasses of such. The behavior of stochastic systems with interacting fast and slow degrees of freedom is investigated both for discrete and continuous processes. Effective equations that govern the process on the slow timescale are derived by asymptotic methods, both for the propagator and the entropy production of the systems. It is found that in general the result of the limiting procedure for entropy does not coincide with the one defined for the effective slow process and features an additional contribution. The specific conditions under which such a correction does or does not arise are stated and the general explicit form of this remnant entropy production is offered. Finally, the fluctuation theorems that are satisfied by this additional term are given.  相似文献

We conducted an experiment in a towing tank to investigate the performance of an energy extraction system using the flow-induced vibration of a circular cylinder. This experiment tested three different cases involving the following arrangements of cylinder(s) of identical diameter: the upstream fixed–downstream movable arrangement (case F); the upstream movable–downstream fixed arrangement (case R); and a movable isolated cylinder (case I). In cases F and R, the separation distance (ratio of the distance between the centers of the two cylinders to their diameters) is fixed at 1.30. Measurement results show that while cases F and I generate vortex-induced vibration (VIV) resonance responses, case R yields wake-induced vibration (WIV) at reduced velocity over 9.0, which is significantly larger than that of the VIV response, leading to the induction of higher electronic power in a generator. Accordingly, primary energy conversion efficiency is higher in the case involving WIV.  相似文献

This article describes a comparison of conventional energy‐dispersive X‐ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and synchrotron radiation total‐reflection X‐ray fluorescence (SRTXRF) for Co determination in ruminal fluid from Holstein cow. This element is used as marker for animal nutrition studies. For EDXRF, 200 µl of the sample were dried on 6.35 µm Mylar film at 60 °C. The excitation was carried out using an X‐ray tube with Mo target and Zr filter operated at 30 kV/20 mA. For SRTXRF, 10 µl of the sample were pipetted on a Lucite carrier and dried at 60 °C. In both the techniques, Ga was used as internal standard and the acquisition time was 200 s. The trueness of both techniques was evaluated through the standard addition method, the recoveries obtained by SRTXRF and EDXRF were 76 and 99%, and the limits of detection, 13 and 240 µg l?1, respectively. The piezoelectric transformers reach densities of power more significant than their magnetic counterparts. However, one of the principal factors limiting the density of power is the acceptable maximum deformation by material constituting the transformer. The heating of the piezoelectric transformers is mainly of mechanical origin. This heating generates a degradation of the characteristics which in its turn generates an additional heating being able to lead to a phenomenon of thermal avalanche. In this work, two nonlinear methods [synchronized switch harvesting on inductor (SSHI) and SSHI-max] have been explored to improve the performance of the Rosen transformer basing on the tension generated by the secondary so as to increase the capacity of mechanic-electric conversion. The simulation results show that SSHI and SSHI-max techniques significantly increase the capacity of mechanic-electric conversion of inserts stuck on a vibrating structure and consequently, the power recovered in electric form. The comparative results of voltage gain, efficiency and the transmitted power of the transformer, before and after SSHI-max and SSHI control are given. These ones indicated that the two nonlinear techniques are promising as applications to improve the performances of the piezo-transformers.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline zirconium oxide was synthesized by hydrothermal treatment of ZrO(NO3)2 and ZrOCl2 aqueous solutions at different temperatures and time in presence of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrothermal treatment of zirconium salts (0.25 and 0.50 mol L?1) produced nanocrystalline monoclinic ZrO2 powders with narrow size distribution, which were formed by the attachment of the smaller particles with crystallites size of 3.5 nm, estimated by means of the Scherrer’s equation and confirmed by transmission electronic microscopy. Typical monoclinic zirconium oxide X-ray powder diffraction patterns and Raman spectra were obtained for all the crystalline powders. It was observed that the crystallization depends strongly on the temperature, resulting in amorphous material when the synthesis was realized at 100 °C, and crystalline with monoclinic phase when synthesized at 110 °C, independently of the salt used. Zirconium oxide colloidal nanoparticles were formed only at hydrothermal treatments longer than 24 h. The stability of the colloids was successfully characterized of zeta potential, showing an initial value of + 59.2 mV in acid media and isoelectric point at pH = 5.2, in good agreement with previous studies.  相似文献
