We report on new possibilities to generate
solid-density plasma at extreme energy density by intense
VUV beams. Here we consider 100 fs pulses of 30 eV photons
focused to 1016 and 1018 W/cm2. The temperature
evolution in 50 nm thick aluminum foils is discussed
on the basis of simulations, performed with the
one-dimensional radiation hydrodynamics code MULTI-fs.
For 30 eV photons, the foil is shown to switch from
transmission to reflection mode on a femto-second time-scale;
this is due to the rapid change of the plasma frequency during laser heating
which may turn an initially transparent Al-foil into an
opaque one. The switching-time depends on the intensity of the
laser pulse. Also layered heating structures inside the foil
are discussed which occur due to reflection at the rear surface. 相似文献

Five vanadium complexes as models for biological systems were investigated using 51V-MAS–NMR spectroscopy. All spectra show an uncommon line shape, which can be attributed to a shorter relaxation time of the satellite transition in contrast to the central one. A method for the reliable analysis of such kind of spectra is presented for the first time and the most important NMR parameters of the investigated complexes (quadrupolar coupling constant CQ, asymmetry of the EFG tensor ηQ, isotropic chemical shift δiso, chemical shift anisotropy δσ and asymmetry of the CSA tensor ησ) are presented. These results are of particular importance with respect to the analysis of the 51V-MAS–NMR spectra of vanadium moieties in biological matrices such as vanadium chloroperoxidase, which show hitherto unexplained low intensity of the satellite sideband pattern. 相似文献

We introduce dual-pump coherent anti-Stokes-Raman scattering (dual-CARS) microscopy. This new technique permits simultaneous imaging of two species characterized by different molecular vibrations, as well as the removal of nonresonant background. This is achieved by using three synchronized laser pulses probing two different vibrations. We demonstrate the virtues of the method by imaging a mixture of nondeuterated and deuterated lipids, clearly distinguishing the individual components and their organization in the mixed arrangement. Further, dual-CARS images of lipid stores in living Caenorhabditis elegans nematodes show that the suppression of the nonresonant background results in significantly enhanced image contrast. 相似文献

We report a study of a stylized banking cascade model investigating systemic risk caused by counterparty failure using liabilities and assets to define banks’ balance sheet. In our stylized system, banks can be in two states: normally operating or distressed and the state of a bank changes from normally operating to distressed whenever its liabilities are larger than the banks’ assets. The banks are connected through an interbank lending network and, whenever a bank is distressed, its creditor cannot expect the loan from the distressed bank to be repaid, potentially becoming distressed themselves. We solve the problem analytically for a homogeneous system and test the robustness and generality of the results with simulations of more complex systems. We investigate the parameter space and the corresponding distribution of operating banks mapping the conditions under which the whole system is stable or unstable. This allows us to determine how financial stability of a banking system is influenced by regulatory decisions, such as leverage; we discuss the effect of central bank actions, such as quantitative easing and we determine the cost of rescuing a distressed banking system using re-capitalisation. Finally, we estimate the stability of the UK and US banking systems comparing the years 2007 and 2012 by using real data. 相似文献

We present the synthesis and photophysical characterisation of a series of structurally diverse, fluorescent 2,6,8‐trisubstituted 3‐hydroxychromone derivatives with high fluorescence quantum yields and molar extinction coefficients. Two of these derivatives ( 9 and 10 a ) have been studied as fluorophores for cellular imaging in HeLa cells and show excellent permeability and promising fluorescence properties in a cellular environment. In addition, we have demonstrated by photophysical characterisation of 3‐isobutyroxychromone derivatives that esterification of the 3‐hydroxyl group results in acceptable and useful fluorescence properties. 相似文献

For surgery training and on-line support during surgeries a method is required which is able to reduce simulation time possibly even to realtime. This contribution compares the effectiveness of three model reduction methods, all of which are widely used for linear problems, in the context of nonlinear structural mechanics. Three reduction methods will be extended to nonlinear elasticity including large deformations. The performance of the extended concepts is investigated for a simplified model of a human inferior turbinate in the context of the functional endoscopic sinus surgery. The spatial variations in the elemental and stable carbon, nitrogen, and sulphur isotope composition of bladder wrack (Fucus vesiculosus) growing along the shore line of the semi-enclosed urbanized Kiel Fjord (western Baltic Sea) was investigated at more than 60 sites. The analyses of the carbon-nitrogen-sulphur (CNS) stoichiometry and C and N stable isotope signature of F. vesiculosus displayed substantial differences between the north-western and the south-eastern parts of the Kiel Fjord. Different size classes displayed in part differences in C:N and C:S ratios, and the carbon isotope composition, reflecting the impact of the boundary conditions during growth. Whereas the sulphur isotope composition was controlled by the assimilation of seawater sulphate, the carbon isotope composition reflected the difference in the composition of surface waters. The δ15N values of the organic tissue tend to be an integrated monitor of anthropogenic impacts on the fjord. Results are compared to the composition of surface waters. 相似文献

A program for iterative fitting procedures to determine the NMR parameters from 51V solid-state MAS NMR spectra was developed. It contains options to use genetic algorithms and downhill-simplex optimizing procedures to extract the optimal parameter sets, which describe our spectra. As computational kernel the SIMPSON program is employed. Other kernels like SPINEVOLUTION are easily incorporable. The algorithms are checked for their suitability for the present optimization problem and optimal simulation conditions are determined, with the focus on minimal processing time. The procedure leads to a very good agreement between experimental and simulated spectra in a passable period of time. First results for spectra of model compounds for the active site of vanadium haloperoxidases are presented. 相似文献

This work examines the proton intercalation in vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) thin films and its optical properties in the near-infrared (near-IR) region. Samples were prepared via direct current magnetron sputter deposition and cyclic voltammetry was used to characterize the insertion and extraction behavior of protons in V2O5 in a trifluoroacetic acid containing electrolyte. With the same setup chronopotentiometry was done to intercalate a well-defined number of protons in the HxV2O5 system in the range of x=0 and x=1. These films were characterized with optical reflectometry in the near-IR region (between 700 and 1700 nm wavelength) and the refractive index n and extinction coefficient k were determined using Cauchy ’s dispersion model. The results show a clear correlation between proton concentration and n and k. 相似文献
