Organic semiconductor devices show a pronounced interplay between temperature-activated conductivity and self-heating which in particular causes inhomogeneities in the brightness of large-area OLEDs at high power. We consider a 3D thermistor model based on partial differential equations for the electrothermal behavior of organic devices and introduce an extension to multiple layers with nonlinear conductivity laws, which also take the diode-like behavior in recombination zones into account. We present a numerical simulation study for a red OLED using a finite-volume approximation of this model. The appearance of S-shaped current–voltage characteristics with regions of negative differential resistance in a measured device can be quantitatively reproduced. Furthermore, this simulation study reveals a propagation of spatial zones of negative differential resistance in the electron and hole transport layers toward the contact. 相似文献

Combinatorial synthesis has developed within a few years from a laboratory curiosity to a method that is taken seriously in drug research. Rapid progress in molecular biology and the resulting ability to determine the activity of new substances extremely efficiently have led to a change in paradigm for the synthesis of test compounds: in addition to the conventional procedure of synthesizing one substance after another, new methods allowing simultaneous creation of many structurally defined substances are becoming increasingly important. A characteristic of combinatorial synthesis is that a reaction is performed with many synthetic building blocks at once—in parallel or in a mixture— rather than with just one building block. All possible combinations are formed in each step, so that a large number of products, a so-called library, is obtained from only a few reactants. Several methods have been developed for combinatorial synthesis of small organic molecules, based on research into peptide library synthesis: single substances are produced by highly automated parallel syntheses, and special techniques enable targeted synthesis of mixtures with defined components. Many structures can be obtained by combinatorial synthesis, and the size of the libraries created ranges from a few individual compounds to many thousand substances in mixtures. This article gives an overview of the combinatorial syntheses of small organic molecules reported to date, performed both in solution and on a solid support. In addition, different techniques for identification of active compounds in mixtures are presented, together with ways to automate syntheses and process the large amounts of data produced. An overview of pionering companies active in this area is also given. The final outlook attempts to predict the future development of this exponentially growing area and the influence of this new thinking in other areas of chemistry. 相似文献

Crystal structures of three Ni(CN)(4)(2)(-) salts all with eclipsed ligands and varying axial stacking arrangements are presented. The absorption spectra of all three salts show a slight red shift in the x,y-polarizations and a large red shift in their z-polarizations upon crystallization from solution. Semiempirical ZINDO calculations provide a good model of the solid state, even with only a three-molecule segment, allowing reproduction of the red-shifting and intensity increase upon crystallization found experimentally. The modified nickel beta(s,p) bonding parameter of -5 found appropriate for Ni coordination in our previous studies of single Ni(CN)(4)(2-) planes and a helically stacked Cs(2)[Ni(CN)(4)].H(2)O crystal was changed to -3 for the more parallel-stacked Ni(CN)(4)(2-) planes in this case, while beta(d) was retained at -41. The regioselective functionalization of terminal alkenes and alkynes is of utmost importance for the synthesis of a wide variety of organic products. Based on the original observation by Vladimir Markovnikov-the pioneer of this field of research-in the 19th century, the possible regioisomeric products are classified as Markovnikov or anti-Markovnikov products. The complexation behaviour of cis- und trans-3-diphenylphosphino-4-hydroxyl-tetrahydrofurans with [Rh(COD)2]BF4 is studied with the help of NMR and IR spectroscopy. In dependence of the spatial arrangement of hydroxyl and phosphino group the formation of different intra- and intermolecular bridged O-P complexes has been observed.

The interactions of the bile salts sodium cholate (NaC) and sodium deoxycholate (NaDC) in 0.1 M NaCl (pH 7.4) with membranes composed of 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (DPPC), 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylglycerol (DPPG) and mixtures of DPPC and DPPG at molar ratios of 3:1 and 1:1 were studied by means of high-sensitivity isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The partition coefficients and the transfer enthalpies for the incorporation of bile salt molecules into the phospholipid membranes were determined by ITC. The vesicle-to-micelle transition was investigated by ITC, DLS, and DSC. The phase boundaries for the saturation of the vesicles and their complete solubilization established by ITC were in general agreement with DLS data, but systematic differences could be seen due to the difference in detected physical quantities. Electrostatic repulsion effects between the negatively charged bile salt molecules and the negatively charged membrane surfaces are not limiting factors for the vesicle-to-micelle transition. The membrane packing constraints of the phospholipid molecules and the associated spontaneous curvature of the vesicles play the dominant role. DPPG vesicles are transformed by the bile salts into mixed micelles more easily or similarly compared to DPPC vesicles. The saturation of mixed DPPC/DPPG vesicles requires less bile salt, but to induce the solubilization of the liposomes, significantly higher amounts of bile salt are needed compared to the concentrations required for the solubilization of the pure phospholipid systems. The different solubilization behavior of DPPC/DPPG liposomes compared to the pure liposomes could be due to a specific "extraction" of DPPG into the mixed micelles in the coexistence region. 相似文献

The second cyanobacterial phytochrome Cph2 from Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 was suggested as a part of a light-stimulated signal transduction chain inhibiting movement toward blue light. Cph2 has the two bilin binding sites, cysteine-129 and cysteine-1022, that might be involved in sensing of red/far-red and blue light, respectively. Here, we present data on wavelength dependence of the phototaxis inhibition under blue light, indicating that Cph2 itself is the photoreceptor for this blue light response. We found that inhibition of blue-light phototaxis in wild-type cells occurred below the transition point of about 470 nm. Substitution of cysteine-1022 with valine led to photomovement of the cells toward blue light (cph2(-) mutant phenotype). Analysis of mutants lacking cysteine-129 in the N-terminal chromophore binding domain indicated that this domain is also important for Cph2 function or folding of the protein. Furthermore, putative blue-light and phytochrome-like photoreceptors encoded by the Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 genome were inactivated in wild-type and cph2 knockout mutant background. Our results suggest that none of these potential photoreceptors interfere with Cph2 function, although inactivation of taxD1 as well as slr1694 encoding a BLUF protein led to cells that reversed the direction of movement under blue light illumination in mutant strains of cph2. 相似文献
