Driven and non-equilibrium quantum states of matter have attracted growing interest in both theoretical and experimental studies in condensed matter physics. Recent progress in realizing transient collective states in driven or pumped Dirac materials (DMs) is reviewed herein. In particular, the focus is on optically pumped DMs which are a promising platform for transient excitonic instabilities. Optical pumping combined with the linear (Dirac) dispersion of the electronic spectrum offers a knob for tuning the effective interaction between the photoexcited electrons and holes, and thus provides a way of reducing the critical coupling for excitonic instability. As a result, a transient excitonic condensate could be achieved in a pumped DM while it is not feasible in equilibrium. A unifying theoretical framework is provided for describing transient collective states in 2D and 3D DMs. The experimental signatures are described and numerical estimates of the size of the dynamically induced excitonic gaps and the values of the critical temperatures for several specific systems, are summarized. In addition, general guidelines for identifying promising material candidates are discussed. Finally, comments are provided regarding recent experimental efforts in realizing transient excitonic condensate in pumped DMs, and outstanding issues and possible future directions are outlined.  相似文献

Microbial cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs) are able to mimic the metabolism of human CYPs. One challenge is to identify the respective drug metabolites and to compare substrate specificities to those of the human enzymes. In this study, a class VIII self-sufficient CYP from Aspergillus fumigatus (CYP505X) and variants of this enzyme were heterologously expressed in E. coli. The substrate scope of the variants was determined using active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and (hetero)cyclic compounds. Capsaicin – the active compound in chili peppers – was oxidized most efficiently (4.36?μM/min) in a whole cell mediated biotransformation. The products were isolated, purified and their structures elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR. The two major metabolites showed modifications on the lipophilic side chain. Specifically, capsaicin was hydroxylated at position 8 to give (E)-8-hydroxy-N-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl)-8-methylnon-6-enamide and epoxidized at the double bond to give N-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl)-5-(3-isopropyloxiran-2-yl)-pentanamide.  相似文献

We present a comparative analysis of the conduction band edge of the alkali earth metal bismuthates containing Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba. The conduction band edges were computed using the method suggested by Butler and Ginley. The calculations reveal that they depend on the bismuthate’s composition and vary over a wide range. We demonstrate that the energy of the conduction band increases in the series Ca?→?Sr?→?Ba. It also increases with an increase of the alkali earth metal content. The performed calculations help to determine the potential alkali earth metal bismuthate photocatalysts. The most promising compositions found in this study include strontium and barium bismuthates in which the number of the alkali earth metal atoms in the cationic sublattice exceeds the number of the bismuth atoms.  相似文献

A survey is made of new regions of nuclei, which may become accessible to nuclear orientation experiments as the on-line technique matures. Basic nuclear properties that can be investigated by means of nuclear orientation are briefly reviewed. Examples of systematic use of nuclear moments for revealing nuclear properties are given as is an example of of the combined use of low-spin nuclear orientation data and high-spin heavy-ion reaction data.  相似文献

Operator geometric stable laws are the weak limits of operator normed and centered geometric random sums of independent, identically distributed random vectors. They generalize operator stable laws and geometric stable laws. In this work we characterize operator geometric stable distributions, their divisibility and domains of attraction, and present their application to finance. Operator geometric stable laws are useful for modeling financial portfolios where the cumulative price change vectors are sums of a random number of small random shocks with heavy tails, and each component has a different tail index.  相似文献
