A thieno[2,3-b]thiophene core has been utilized as a π-donor component to design two series of push-pull thienothiophenes by introducing various acceptor groups either via olefinic or aza-spacers. The molecules show a UV-visible cut-off wavelength below the second harmonic generation (SHG) at λ/2 of 532 nm, thereby conforming to the nonlinearity-transparency trade-off. Second order molecular nonlinearity, β measured by Hyper-Rayleigh scattering technique was found in the range of 9.58-47.66×10−30 esu, while the Kurtz powder technique produced signals of the order of 0.43-1.02 U. Thermal decomposition temperatures measured by differential scanning calorimetry revealed decomposition temperatures≥275 °C, indicating high thermal stability.  相似文献

The B(2)Π-X(2)Σ(+) electronic spectrum of C(4)H has been studied by degenerate and double resonance four-wave mixing. The technique identifies vibrational levels in the X(2)Σ(+) ground state. Its sensitivity and unique characteristics permit detection of new levels. The A(2)Π state lying 222 cm(-1) above the X(2)Σ ground state is also observed, confirming the analysis from anion photoelectron spectroscopy but with improved accuracy. Vibrational level determination in the A(2)Π electronic manifold up to 700 cm(-1) above v = 0 is made. A Renner-Teller analysis is carried out for the two lowest bending modes v(6) and v(7) in the A(2)Π state by diagonalization of the effective Hamiltonian matrix. The Renner-Teller parameters ∈(6), ∈(7), and ∈(67), the vibrations ω(6) and ω(7) and the spin-orbit coupling constant A(so) are determined.  相似文献

Amphiphilic silicones were prepared by the covalent incorporation of branched polyethylene oxide (PEO) via a siloxane tether. This was achieved by using six novel branched PEO‐silanes with varying siloxane tether lengths and PEO molecular weight (Mn). Each PEO‐silane was crosslinked via acid‐catalyzed sol–gel condensation with α,ω‐bis(Si‐OH)polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) (Mn = 3000 g/mol) to yield six amphiphilic silicone films. Film surface hydrophilicity increased with siloxane tether length, particularly after exposure to an aqueous environment, indicating that the PEO segments were more readily driven to the surface. This effect was more pronounced for films prepared with PEO‐silanes containing lower Mn PEO segments. AFM was used to study surface reconstruction of films upon exposure to an aqueous environment. Adsorption of bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human fibrinogen (HF) proteins decreased with siloxane tether length, particularly after first exposing films to an aqueous environment. For a given siloxane tether length, relatively less BSA adsorbed onto films prepared with PEO‐silanes with lower Mn PEO segments whereas less HF adsorbed onto films prepared with PEO‐silanes with higher Mn PEO segments. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report studies of the frequency-dependent shear modulus, G(*)(omega) = G(')(omega) + iG(')(omega), of the liquid crystal octylcyanobiphenyl (8CB) confined in a colloidal aerosil gel. With the onset of smectic order, G' grows approximately linearly with decreasing temperature, reaching values that exceed by more than 3 orders of magnitude the values for pure 8CB. The modulus at low temperatures possesses a power-law component, G(*)(omega) approximately omega(alpha), with exponent alpha that approaches zero with increasing gel density. The amplitude of G' and its variation with temperature and gel density indicate that the low temperature response is dominated by a dense population of defects in the smectic. In contrast, when the 8CB is isotropic or nematic, the modulus is controlled by the elastic behavior of the colloidal gel.  相似文献

Low-energy Argon ions from electron cyclotron resonance ion source were bombarded on polycarbonate films. The interaction of ions with the surface of the material was studied by using X-ray diffraction analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermo-gravimetric analysis and atomic force microscopy. The study reveals that the surface roughness of the films increases with the modification of the surface morphology induced by ion irradiation. Thermal decomposition zone of irradiated samples has extended and hence thermal stability has also improved. Changes in the structural parameters and functional groups were observed after irradiation. These ion-induced changes and their significance were discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was synthesized from fresh garlic extract coupled with isoniazid hydrazide (INH), a commonly used antibiotic to treat tuberculosis. A molecular docking study conducted with the selected compounds compared with anthranilate phosphoribosyltransferase (trpD) from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The aqueous extract of garlic was prepared and mixed with silver nitrate (AgNO3) solution for the superfast synthesis of stable AgNPs. INH was then conjugated with AgNPs at different ratios (v/v) to obtain stable INH-AgNPs conjugates (AgNCs). The resulting AgNCs characterized by FTIR spectra revealed the ultrafast formation of AgNPs (<5 s) and perfectly conjugated with INH. The shifting of λmax to longer wavelength, as found from UV spectral analysis, confirmed the formation of AgNCs, among which ideal formulations (F7, F10, and F13) have been pre-selected. The zeta particle size (PS) and the zeta potential (ZP) of AgNPs were found to be 145.3 ± 2.1 nm and −33.1 mV, respectively. These data were significantly different compared to that of AgNCs (160 ± 2.7 nm and −14.4 mV for F7; 208.9 ± 2.9 nm and −19.8 mV for F10; and 281.3 ± 3.6 nm and −19.5 mV for F13), most probably due to INH conjugation. The results of XRD, SEM and EDX confirmed the formation of AgNCs. From UV spectral analysis, EE of INH as 51.6 ± 5.21, 53.6 ± 6.88, and 70.01 ± 7.11 %, for F7, F10, and F13, respectively. The stability of the three formulations was confirmed in various physiological conditions. Drug was released in a sustainable fashion. Besides, from the preferred 23 compounds, five compounds namely Sativoside R2, Degalactotigonin, Proto-desgalactotigonin, Eruboside B and Sativoside R1 showed a better docking score than trpD, and therefore may help in promoting anti-tubercular activity.  相似文献

We study the rheology of semi-dilute solutions of the sodium salt of calf-thymus DNA in the linear and nonlinear regimes. The frequency response data can be fitted very well to the hybrid model with two dominant relaxation times τ0 and τ1. The ratio (τ01) ∼5 is seen to be fairly constant on changing the temperature from 20 to 30°C. The shear rate dependence of viscosity can be fitted to the Carreau model.  相似文献

Plant emissions of volatile organic compounds from mechanically wounded Agrostis stolonifera, Pennisetum clandestinum, Eucalyptus leucoxylon and Trifolium repens have been sampled by headspace-solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and analysed by using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC) for measurement of the plant emissions. GCxGC produces a fingerprint of the volatile organic compounds in a 2D separation space that may be approximately interpreted as a boiling point-polarity space, and may then be presented as a two-dimensional contour plot. This allows identification of sample-dependent variations in component distributions in the 2D plot, which will contain information about plant differences and should therefore facilitate recognition of different plant materials and displays the gross differences in volatiles between each plant species.  相似文献
