The interfacial and thermodynamic properties of a non-ionic surfactant, poly[oxyethylene(10)] lauryl ether, [C12H25(OCH2CH2)10OH], in aqueous solution in the presence of amino acids have been investigated. Critical micelle concentrations (cmcs) were determined by surface tension measurements at different additive concentrations and temperatures using a du Nouy tensiometer. From the surface tension data, the surface excess concentration (F), the minimum area per molecule (Amin), and the surface pressure at the cmc(?cmc) were evaluated. Thermodynamic parameters of adsorption and micellization were evaluated and discussed. The other solution properties of this surfactant like the cloud point viscosity, and foaming have been determined in the presence of different concentrations of alanine and glycine.  相似文献

A simple and efficient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of substituted pyrrole-fused isocoumarins from easily available ninhydrin. The cyclic hemiaminal dihydroxy-indenopyrroles, the adducts of ninhydrin with enamines of acetylacetone, give pyrrole-fused isocoumarins upon heating in acidic medium. The process constitutes an interesting acid-catalyzed rearrangement to eight-membered lactams followed by intramolecular cyclization involving the amino and keto groups.  相似文献

A weakly fluorescent cobalt(II) complex is synthesized using 2-(2-pyridyl)-benzimidazole (PBI) as a chelating fluorescent ligand and characterized by single crystal X-ray structure. This complex serves as an efficient fluorescent probe for trace level determination of aspartic acid (AspA) and glutamic acid (GluA) in aqueous solution. Rest of the naturally occurring amino acids did not interfere. Both aspartic acid and glutamic acid replaces PBI from the coordination sphere of Co(II)-PBI complex resulting appearance of strong fluorescence signal for the released free PBI. The signal response is very fast and the interaction of both the AspA and GluA with the Co(II) is strong enough as evident from their displacement equilibrium constant values, viz. 4357.8 M(-1) and 8333.33 M(-1) respectively.  相似文献

The periplasmic Cu(+)/Ag(+) chaperone CusF features a novel cation-π interaction between a Cu(+)/Ag(+) ion and Trp44 at the metal binding site. The nature and strength of the Cu(+)/Ag(+)-Trp44 interactions were investigated using computational methodologies. Quantum-mechanical (QM) calculations showed that the Cu(+) and Ag(+) interactions with Trp44 are of similar strength (~14 kcal/mol) and bond order. Quantum-mechanical/molecular-mechanical (QM/MM) calculations showed that Cu(+) binds in a distorted tetrahedral coordination environment in the Trp44Met mutant, which lacks the cation-π interaction. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of CusF in the apo and Cu(+)-bound states emphasized the importance of the Cu(+)-Trp44 interaction in protecting Cu(+) from water oxidation. The protein structure does not change over the time scale of hundreds of nanoseconds in the metal-bound state. The metal recognition site exhibits small motions in the apo state but remains largely preorganized toward metal binding. Trp44 remains oriented to form the cation-π interaction in the apo state and faces an energetic penalty to move away from the metal ion. Cu(+) binding quenches the protein's internal motions in regions linked to binding CusB, suggesting that protein motions play an essential role in Cu(+) transfer to CusB.  相似文献

A series of mono-, bis-, tris-, and tetrakis(porphinato)zinc(II) (PZn)-elaborated ruthenium(II) bis(terpyridine) (Ru) complexes have been synthesized in which an ethyne unit connects the macrocycle meso carbon atom to terpyridyl (tpy) 4-, 4'-, and 4'-positions. These supermolecular chromophores, based on the ruthenium(II) [5-(4'-ethynyl-(2,2';6',2'-terpyridinyl))-10,20-bis(2',6'-bis(3,3-dimethyl-1-butyloxy)phenyl)porphinato]zinc(II)-(2,2';6',2'-terpyridine)(2+) bis-hexafluorophosphate (RuPZn) archetype, evince strong mixing of the PZn-based oscillator strength with ruthenium terpyridyl charge resonance bands. Potentiometric and linear absorption spectroscopic data indicate that for structures in which multiple PZn moieties are linked via ethynes to a [Ru(tpy)(2)](2+) core, little electronic coupling is manifest between PZn units, regardless of whether they are located on the same or opposite tpy ligand. Congruent with these experiments, pump-probe transient absorption studies suggest that the individual RuPZn fragments of these structures exhibit, at best, only modest excited-state electronic interactions that derive from factors other than the dipole-dipole interactions of these strong oscillators; this approximate independent character of the component RuPZn oscillators enables fabrication of nonlinear optical (NLO) multipoles with extraordinary hyperpolarizabilities. Dynamic hyperpolarizability (β(λ)) values and depolarization ratios (ρ) were determined from hyper-Rayleigh light scattering (HRS) measurements carried out at an incident irradiation wavelength (λ(inc)) of 1300 nm. The depolarization ratio data provide an experimental measure of chromophore optical symmetry; appropriate coupling of multiple charge-transfer oscillators produces structures having enormous averaged hyperpolarizabilities (β(HRS) values), while evolving the effective chromophore symmetry from purely dipolar (e.g., Ru(tpy)[4-(Zn-porphyrin)ethynyl-tpy](PF(6))(2), β(HRS) = 1280 × 10(-30) esu, ρ = 3.8; Ru(tpy)[4'-(Zn-porphyrin)ethynyl-tpy](PF(6))(2), β(HRS) = 2100 × 10(-30) esu, ρ = 3.8) to octopolar (e.g., Ru[4,4'-bis(Zn-porphyrin)ethynyl-tpy](2)(PF(6))(2), β(HRS) = 1040 × 10(-30) esu, ρ = 1.46) via structural motifs that possess intermediate values of the depolarization ratio. The chromophore design roadmap provided herein gives rise to octopolar supermolecules that feature by far the largest off-diagonal octopolar first hyperpolarizability tensor components ever reported, with the effectively octopolar Ru[4,4'-bis(Zn-porphyrin)ethynyl-tpy](2)(PF(6))(2) possessing a β(HRS) value at 1300 nm more than a factor of 3 larger than that determined for any chromophore having octopolar symmetry examined to date. Because NLO octopoles possess omnidirectional NLO responses while circumventing the electrostatic interactions that drive bulk-phase centrosymmetry for NLO dipoles at high chromophore concentrations, the advent of octopolar NLO chromophores having vastly superior β(HRS) values at technologically important wavelengths will motivate new experimental approaches to achieve acentric order in both bulk-phase and thin film structures.  相似文献

SERS nanotags have been prepared to accomplish the multiplex detection of cancer cells. Herein we evaluated the adequacy of lipoic acid-containing cyanine derivatives (Cy3LA and Cy5LA) to function as multiplex partners with a triphenylmethine Raman reporter (B2LA) under a single excitation wavelength. SERS experiments enabled the multiplex recognition of two different cancer cells with antibody-conjugated nanotags that were derivatized with optimized cyanine and triphenylmethine reporters.  相似文献

Physicochemical properties constitute a key factor for the success of a drug candidate. Whereas many strategies to improve the physicochemical properties of small heterocycle‐type leads exist, complex hydrocarbon skeletons are more challenging to derivatize because of the absence of functional groups. A variety of C H oxidation methods have been explored on the betulin skeleton to improve the solubility of this very bioactive, yet poorly water‐soluble, natural product. Capitalizing on the innate reactivity of the molecule, as well as the few molecular handles present on the core, allowed oxidations at different positions across the pentacyclic structure. Enzymatic oxidations afforded several orthogonal oxidations to chemical methods. Solubility measurements showed an enhancement for many of the synthesized compounds.  相似文献

Ni3Al alloys of nanometer dimensions in the range 10–38 nm could be synthesized by reaction sintering of sol–gel-derived Ni/SiO2 nanocomposite and commercially available micrometer-sized aluminum powder. The sintering was carried out at a temperature of 923 K and a pressure of 2.4 MPa. By a suitable choice of sintering conditions a disordered phase of Ni3Al was stabilized. The disordered phase could be converted to an ordered one by an increase of heat treatment temperature.  相似文献

Summary Bjorken predicted in the recent past about the large excess emission of photons in high-energy collisions and this was subsequently corroborated by some experimentalists as well. Obviously, this phenomenon is just opposite in nature to pro-centauro events marked by the production of photonless hadrons. In this note we will try to trace the outlines of this confusing and contradictory situation, probe quantitatively into this excess emission of photons (called progammaisation events) and compare them mainly with Bjorken's disoriented-chiral-condensate (DCC) model.  相似文献
