Emulsions, foams, and foamed emulsions have been used successfully as templates for the synthesis of macroporous polymers. Based on this knowledge this Minireview presents strategies to use, optimise, and upscale these templating methods to synthesise tailor‐made porous polymers. The uniqueness of such polymers lies in the ability to tailor their structures and, therefore, their properties. However, systematic studies on structure–property relations are lacking mainly because the templating scientific community is “split into two”: the polydisperse and monodisperse camps. Thus, it is time to build a bridge between the camps, that is, to synthesise porous polymers with very different structures from the same precursors to determine the relationship between the structure and the properties.  相似文献

The notion reflection group (, ) was introduced in order to give group theoretical characterizations of absolute planes. Here we consider reflection groups with midpoints and associate to each of them an incidence structure . Then is an incidence space which dimension can assume any value. The motion group together with the set of all reflections in points of a Euclidean or hyperbolic geometry are examples of reflection groups with midpoints. Furthermore the set can be turned into a K-loop. Abstract– Action spectra of the light-dependent behavior of Halobacterium and the effect of background light have been measured with regard to the current hypothesis of Spudich and Bogomolni [Nature 312 ,509–513 (1984)], which proposes sensory rhodopsin I (sRI587) to be the receptor for long-wavelength light, and its photoproduct S373 to be the receptor for UV light. The action spectrum shows three maxima for attractant responses (prolonged swimming intervals) at 565, 590, and 610 nm, and two maxima for repellent responses (shortened intervals) at 370 and 480 nm. The latter is assigned to sensory rhodopsin II (P-480). All peaks are red-shifted after substitution of the endogeneous retinal by 3, 4-dehydroretinal. The peaks at 590 and 610 nm are suppressed by long-wavelength background light. Ultraviolet background light converts all attractant peaks into repellent peaks. The response at 370 nm is strongly activated by visible background light, the maximal effect occurring with 510 nm. The activated state declines with a half-life of about 1.2 s. In a growing culture, full sensitivity to UV and blue light is restored about 10 h earlier than sensitivity to long-wavelength light. Some of the results cannot easily be explained by the sRI587/S373 hypothesis. Explanations for the three maxima in the long-wavelength range and for the maximal activation of the UV response by 510 nm light are discussed.  相似文献

Mechanistic investigations of the photoinduced DNA damage by acridizinium salts (4a-azonia-anthracene derivatives) are presented. Irradiation of 9-bromoacridizinium in the presence of defined double- and single-stranded DNA oligomers under aerobic conditions leads to both frank strand breaks and alkali-labile sites as determined by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). The extent of the DNA damage increases significantly in D(2)O and occurs selectively at guanosine residues. These observations reveal the formation of singlet oxygen ((1)O(2)) as reactive species, which oxidizes the DNA bases, above all the guanine bases. Further evidence for (1)O(2) formation was obtained from laser-flash spectroscopic investigations, which show intersystem crossing (S(1) to T(1)) of the excited states of the parent acridizinium and of the 9-bromo- and 9-amino-substituted derivatives. The resulting triplet state is efficiently quenched by oxygen (k(q) > 10(9) s(-)(1)M(-)(1)) to yield (1)O(2). Under anaerobic conditions, no significant alkali-labile lesions are observed, but frank strand breaks are induced; however, to lesser extent than under aerobic conditions. The DNA damage is suppressed in the presence of a radical scavenger, namely t-BuOH, and hydroxyl radicals are shown to be the reactive intermediates by trapping experiments with terephthalic acid. Moreover, the intercalated acridizinium molecules are not involved in the DNA damage reactions. The intercalated acridizinium salt leads to a primary PET reaction with the DNA bases; however, a fast BET transfer is proposed that regains the dye and the DNA, so that the excited intercalated dye does not contribute significantly to the overall DNA damage.  相似文献

Capillary electrophoresis-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (CE-ESI-MS) has been used for investigating the influence of the sulfur containing amino acid L-methionine (L-Met) on the binding behavior of oxaliplatin (trans-R,R-diaminocyclohexane-(oxalato)platinum(II)) to 5'-GMP. L-Methionine competes with 5'-GMP for the platinum binding site and forms as well as 5'-GMP adducts with oxaliplatin. The formation of the prognosed complexes [Pt(DACH)(L-Met-S,N)]+ and [Pt(DACH)(5'-GMP)2]2- (DACH = 1,2-diaminocyclohexane) could be proved directly by using CE-ESI-MS. Furthermore, we could now bring forward proofs, that the coordination of 5'-GMP with oxaliplatin is inhibited by L-methionine and could show, that the 5'-GMP ligands of the [Pt(DACH) (5'-GMP)2]2- complex can be replaced slowly by L-methionine whereas methionine can not be replaced by GMP.  相似文献

The title compound, C26H30O4, is one of the first alkyl bis‐peroxides to be structurally characterized. The mol­ecule lies on a centre of inversion and therefore the terminal phenyl rings are parallel.
