Sulfated cellulose (CS) represents an interesting biopolymer due to bioactivity comparable to heparin. However, use of CS for making surface coatings or hydrogels requires the presence of reactive groups for covalent reactions. Here, an approach is presented to oxidize cellulose sulfates for subsequent cross‐linking reactions with amino groups to form imine bonds. Cellulose is sulfated by direct sulfation or acetosulfation, followed by a M alaprade oxidation. The CS obtained is characterized by elemental analysis and 13C‐NMR spectroscopy. The resulting oxidized cellulose sulfates (oxCS) have different degrees of sulfation ranging from 0.79 to 1.13 and oxidation degrees from 0.18 to 0.34, but also different mass average molecular mass (MW). Toxicity studies are carried out with mouse 3T3 fibroblasts exposed to aqueous solutions of oxCS. The results show that all oxCS are non‐toxic at lower concentrations (0.5 mg mL?1), but with both increasing degree of oxidation and concentrations, toxic effects are observed particularly for acetosulfated and lesser for direct sulfated oxCS, which is related to a decrease in the MW of the products. It is concluded that oxCS obtained by direct sulfation with MW above 70 kDa may represent a biocompatible material for the applications suggested above. 相似文献

Background
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between chronic neuropathic pain after incomplete peripheral nerve lesion, chronic nociceptive pain due to osteoarthritis, and the excitability of the motor cortex assessed by transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Hence in 26 patients with neuropathic pain resulting from an isolated incomplete lesion of the median or ulnar nerve (neuralgia), 20 patients with painful osteoarthritis of the hand, and 14 healthy control subjects, the excitability of the motor cortex was tested using paired-pulse TMS to assess intracortical inhibition and facilitation. Breaking of ensemble equivalence between the microcanonical ensemble and the canonical ensemble may occur for random graphs whose size tends to infinity, and is signaled by a non-zero specific relative entropy between the two ensembles. In Garlaschelli et al. (2017) and Garlaschelli et al. (0000) it was shown that breaking occurs when the constraint is put on the degree sequence (configuration model). It is not known what is the effect on the relative entropy when the number of constraints is reduced, i.e., when only part of the nodes are constrained in their degree (and the remaining nodes are left unconstrained). Intuitively, the relative entropy is expected to decrease. However, this is not a trivial issue because when constraints are removed both the microcanonical ensemble and the canonical ensemble change. In this paper a formula for the relative entropy valid for generic discrete random structures, recently formulated by Squartini and Garlaschelli, is used to prove that the relative entropy is monotone in the number of constraints when the constraint is on the degrees of the nodes. It is further shown that the expression for the relative entropy corresponds, in the dense regime, to the degrees in the microcanonical ensemble being asymptotically multivariate Dirac and in the canonical ensemble being asymptotically Gaussian. 相似文献

The purpose of this article is to study conformal harmonic maps , where is a closed Riemann surface and is a compact Riemannian manifold of dimension at least four. Such maps define parametrized minimal surfaces, possibly with branch points. We show that when the ambient manifold is given a generic metric, all prime closed parametrized minimal surfaces are free of branch points, and are as Morse nondegenerate as allowed by the group of automorphisms of . They are Morse nondegenerate in the usual sense if has genus at least two, lie on two-dimensional nondegenerate critical submanifolds if has genus one, and on six-dimensional nondegenerate critical submanifolds if has genus zero.
