The synthesis and spectroscopic properties of trans-[Cl(16-TMC)Ru[double bond]C[double bond]CHR]PF(6) (16-TMC = 1,5,9,13-tetramethyl-1,5,9,13-tetraazacyclohexadecane, R = C(6)H(4)X-4, X = H (1), Cl (2), Me (3), OMe (4); R = CHPh(2) (5)), trans-[Cl(16-TMC)Ru[double bond]C[double bond]C[double bond]C(C(6)H(4)X-4)(2)]PF(6) (X = H (6), Cl (7), Me (8), OMe (9)), and trans-[Cl(dppm)(2)M[double bond]C[double bond]C[double bond]C(C(6)H(4)X-4)(2)]PF(6) (M = Ru, X = H (10), Cl (11), Me (12); M = Os, X = H (13), Cl (14), Me (15)) are described. The crystal structures of 1, 5, 6, and 8 show that the Ru-C(alpha) and C(alpha)-C(beta) distances of the allenylidene complexes fall between those of the vinylidene and acetylide relatives. Two reversible redox couples are observed by cyclic voltammetry for 6-9, with E(1/2) values ranging from -1.19 to -1.42 and 0.49 to 0.70 V vs Cp(2)Fe(+/0), and they are both 0.2-0.3 and 0.1-0.2 V more reducing than those for 10-12 and 13-15, respectively. The UV-vis spectra of the vinylidene complexes 1-4 are dominated by intense high-energy bands at lambda(max) < or = 310 nm (epsilon(max) > or = 10(4) dm(3) mol(-1) cm(-1)), while weak absorptions at lambda(max) > or = 400 nm (epsilon(max) < or = 10(2) dm(3) mol(-1) cm(-1)) are tentatively assigned to d-d transitions. The resonance Raman spectrum of 5 contains a nominal nu(C[double bond]C) stretch mode of the vinylidene ligand at 1629 cm(-1). The electronic absorption spectra of the allenylidene complexes 6-9 exhibit an intense absorption at lambda(max) = 479-513 nm (epsilon(max) = (2-3) x 10(4) dm(3) mol(-1) cm(-1)). Similar electronic absorption bands have been found for 10-12, but the lowest energy dipole-allowed transition is blue-shifted by 1530-1830 cm(-1) for the Os analogues 13-15. Ab initio calculations have been performed on the ground state of trans-[Cl(NH(3))(4)Ru[double bond]C[double bond]C[double bond]CPh(2)](+) at the MP2 level, and imply that the HOMO is not localized purely on the metal center or allenylidene ligand. The absorption band of 6 at lambda(max) = 479 nm has been probed by resonance Raman spectroscopy. Simulations of the absorption band and the resonance Raman intensities show that the nominal nu(C[double bond]C[double bond]C) stretch mode accounts for ca. 50% of the total vibrational reorganization energy, indicating that this absorption band is strongly coupled to the allenylidene moiety. The excited-state reorganization of the allenylidene ligand is accompanied by rearrangement of the Ru[double bond]C and Ru[bond]N (of 16-TMC) fragments, which supports the existence of bonding interaction between the metal and C[double bond]C[double bond]C unit in the electronic excited state.  相似文献

Summary The title complexes of general formula [Cu(HL)Cl2] or [Cu(L)Cl] have been isolated and characterized by 1H and 13C-n.m.r., i.r. and electronic spectra. The i.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectral data for the CuII complexes are compared with those of previously studied complexes. The photodynamic effects of temoporfin (meso-tetrahy-droxyphenylchlorin, mTHPC) and merocyanine 540 (MC540) in murine myeloid leukemia M1 and WEHI 3B (JCS) cells were compared. The mTHPC was found to be more potent and selective. At a lethal dosage of 90% killing (LD90), only 1.3 μM of mTHPC and 4.2 kj/m2 of light irradiation was required, which was a 20-fold lower drug concentration and 11-fold smaller light dose than that required when using MC540. Meanwhile, three times less, or 15%, of the coincubated erythrocytes were destroyed by mTHPC than by MC540. Confocal micrographs showed that both drugs accumulated diffusely inside the cytoplasm in a very similar fashion, but mTHPC induced a more extensive apoptosis in photosensitized JCS cells. For example, at LD90, mTHPC practically killed all JCS cells via apoptosis and cleaved the DNA to extremely small 150 base-pair fragments. In contrast, among the JCS cells killed by MC540, about 88% died via apoptosis and large DNA fragments were abundant. Relative to MC540, the ability of mTHPC to trigger large-scale and thorough apoptosis in leukemia cells may help explain its potency and selectivity.  相似文献

The effect of anion binding on the oxidation potential of an anion receptor, N21,N23-dibenzyl-5,10,15,20-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-oxo-cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)porphyrinogen, 1 in o-dichlorobenzene is reported. The anion binding site of 1, at its inner pyrrolic amine hydrogens, is an integral part of the highly conjugated macrocycle, thus predicting larger potential shifts upon anion binding. Accordingly, cathodic shifts up to 600 mV are observed upon anion binding and such potential shifts correlate well with the anion binding constants.  相似文献

In this study, we report on the use of differential mobility spectrometry (DMS) as a tool for studying tautomeric species, allowing a more in-depth interrogation of these elusive isomers using ion/molecule reactions and tandem mass spectrometry. As an example, we revisit a case study in which gas-phase hydrogen-deuterium exchange (HDX)—a probe of ion structure in mass spectrometry—actually altered analyte ion structure by tautomerization. For the N- and O-protonated tautomers of 4-aminobenzoic acid, when separated using DMS and subjected to subsequent HDX with trace levels of D2O, the anticipated difference between the exchange rates of the two tautomers is observed. However, when using higher levels of D2O or a more basic reagent, equivalent and almost complete exchange of all labile protons is observed. This second observation is a result of the interconversion of the N-protonated tautomer to the O-protonated form during HDX. We can monitor this transformation experimentally, with support from detailed molecular dynamics and electronic structure calculations. In fact, calculations suggest the onset of bulk solution phase properties for 4-aminobenzoic acid upon solvation with eight CH3OH molecules. These findings also underscore the need for choosing HDX reagents and conditions judiciously when separating interconvertible isomers using DMS.

This paper studies the problem of pricing and trading of defaultable claims among investors with heterogeneous risk preferences and market views. Based on the utility-indifference pricing methodology, we construct the bid-ask spreads for risk-averse buyers and sellers, and show that the spreads widen as risk aversion or trading volume increases. Moreover, we analyze the buyer’s optimal static trading position under various market settings, including (i) when the market pricing rule is linear, and (ii) when the counterparty—single or multiple sellers—may have different nonlinear pricing rules generated by risk aversion and belief heterogeneity. For defaultable bonds and credit default swaps, we provide explicit formulas for the optimal trading positions, and examine the combined effect of risk aversions and beliefs. In particular, we find that belief heterogeneity, rather than the difference in risk aversion, is crucial to trigger a trade.  相似文献
