N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) and bis(2-ethylhexy)phosphoric acid (HDEHP) were coated on Fe3O4 nanoparticles under different chemical conditions. The TODGA-coated magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4@TODGA) captured representative actinides Am(III) and Pu(IV) at 3–4 M HNO3 with high efficiency. However, the HNO3 induced pre-organization of TODGA, before coating on the magnetite nanoparticles, was found to be important for the sorption of Am(III) and Pu(IV) ions. The Fe3O4@HDEHP particles exhibited selectivity toward Pu(IV), and Am(III) did not sorb from 3 to 4 M HNO3. The quantification of Pu(IV) preconcentrated on coated particles was carried out by removing the extractant coating in dioxane based scintillator, followed by liquid scintillation counting.

In this study, a novel series of 5‐piperazinethiazole 2,2‐dimethylbutanoic acid and 5‐piperidinethiazole 2,2‐dimethylbutanoic acid derivatives have been synthesized. Structures of the newly synthesized compounds have been elucidated using 1H‐NMR, 13C‐NMR, high‐resolution mass spectroscopy, and high‐performance liquid chromatographic analysis. The synthesized derivatives have been evaluated in vitro for their ability to inhibit the enzyme diacylglycerol acyltransferase 1 responsible for triglyceride biosynthesis. 相似文献
Segmented flow is often used in the synthesis of nanomaterials to achieve narrow particle size distribution. The narrowness of the distribution is commonly attributed to the reduced dispersion associated with segmented flows. On the basis of the analysis of flow fields and the resulting particle size distribution, we demonstrate that it is the slip velocity between the two fluids and internal mixing in the continuous-phase slugs that govern the nature of the particle size distribution. The reduction in the axial dispersion has less impact on particle growth and hence on the particle size distribution. Synthesis of gold nanoparticles from HAuCl(4) with rapid reduction by NaBH(4) serves as a model system. Rapid reduction yields gold nuclei, which grow by agglomeration, and it is controlled by the interaction of the nuclei with local flow. Thus, the difference in the physical properties of the two phases and the inlet flow rates ultimately control the particle growth. Hence, a careful choice of continuous and dispersed phases is necessary to control the nanoparticle size and size distribution. 相似文献
In northern part of Indian sub-continent, As related environmental and health issues receive attention from all over the world. Forty-eight sediment samples were collected from the Ganga Alluvial Plain (GAP) and its weathering products (from the Gomati River) for the study of As distribution and mobilization. These sediment samples were analyzed by Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) method using Cirus Research Reacter of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. Average As concentrations in the GAP sediments (10.44?mg?kg?1), the Gomati River bed sediments (1.36?mg?kg?1) and the Gomati River suspended sediments (5.30?mg?kg?1) were reported. Significant decrease of As content from the alluvial sediments to the river sediments is a clear indication of its mobilization by chemical weathering processes of mineral biotite. Present study demonstrates the importance of INAA for quantification and mobilization of As and improves our understanding related to As related environmental issues in northern India and elsewhere. 相似文献
We show that the CH···O hydrogen bond can be opportunistic to differentially dictate the conformation of cyclitols in solution and solid states. While several intermolecular CH···O stabilize the chair-conformation in the solid, single intramolecular CH···O stabilizes an otherwise unfavorable boat-conformation in solutions analogous to the boat-conformation of cis-1,4-cyclohexanediols by OH···O bonds. 相似文献
