The room temperature growth of gallium atoms on the highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) surface has been performed. The gallium atoms were deposited by thermal evaporation method in an ultra high vacuum system at a base pressure 5 × 10−10 torr. The X-ray photo electron spectroscopy (XPS) studies had been performed to confirm the presence of gallium atoms on HOPG surface. Scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STM) technique was employed to study the surface morphology of the clean HOPG surface and gallium covered HOPG surfaces which recognize the formation of gallium induced nanostructures. The deconvoluted XPS core level spectra of C (1s) and Ga (3d) demonstrate the possible interaction between substrate and the adsorbate atoms. The STM analysis revealed that the gallium deposition on HOPG led to significant change in the surface morphology. It was observed that the Ga atoms adsorbed as layer structure on HOPG surface for low coverage while quasi one-dimensional chain like nanostructure (1 ± 0.2 nm) has been formed for higher Ga coverage. The nanostructured surfaces induced by Ga deposition are found to be stable and could be used as a template for the growth of metallic nanostructures.  相似文献

Prevailing classification of salts based on their effect in solubility and stability of proteins in aqueous solution predicts that tetraalkylammonium salts, guanidinium chloride (GnCl), LiClO4 act as salting‐in (S/I) and LiCl, NaCl act as salting‐out (S/O) in aqueous conditions. In the same context the behaviour of GnCl, LiClO4 and LiCl are contradictory in polar solvents like ethylene glycol and formamide. In these solvents, expected salt effect shows just opposite nature from their usual expectation. However, in the aqueous solution salts like tetraalkylammonium halide (R4NX, R = alkyl group, X = Br group) behave like salting‐in salts. The physicochemical origin of the salting in effect of R4NX type of salts has been discussed elaborately in the present work. The role of cations in terms of substitution of various alkyl groups on R4NX has been systematically presented here on the basis of experimental kinetic and thermodynamic studies. The abnormal behaviour of R4NX salts in aqueous solution has also been explained by the Setschenov equation (ks) and Δμsolvation values, which highlights their individual nature out of common properties of R4NX. In the present work, four-layer polymeric waveguides have been fabricated and characterized by interchanging the film layer. Using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) polymer it has been shown that polymers do not loose their own property in multilayer structure and better efficiency can be achieved in the form of low propagation losses and mode filtration. Due to high contrast of PVA and SAN films, a broad spectrum of refractive index in four-layer structure has been achieved.  相似文献

Stable white electroluminescence (EL) has been achieved from organic LED, in which an ultrathin 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-methyl-6-(p-dimethyl-aminostyryl)-4H-pyran (DCM) dye layer has been inserted in between two 2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinolinolatolithium [LiMeq] emitter layer and by optimizing the position of the DCM dye layer from the α-NPD/LiMeq interface. Electroluminescence spectra, current-voltage-luminescence (I-V-L) characteristics of the devices have been studied by changing the position of the dye layer. As the distance of DCM layer from α-NPD/LiMeq interface is increased, the intensity of host emission enhances rapidly. Introduction of thin layer of DCM in emissive layer increases the turn on voltage. The best Commission International de L’ Eclairage (CIE) coordinates i.e. (0.32, 0.33) were obtained with device structure ITO/α-NPD(30 nm) /LiMeq(10 nm)/DCM(1 nm)/LiMeq(25 nm)/BCP(6 nm)/Alq3(28 nm)/LiF(1 nm)/Al(100 nm). The EL spectrum covers the whole visible spectra range 400-700 nm. The color rendering index (CRI) for our best white light (Device 4) is 47.4. The device shows very good color stability in terms of CIE coordinates with voltages. The maximum luminescence 1240 cd/m−2 has been achieved at 19 V.  相似文献

We show that within the class of ontological models due to Harrigan and Spekkens, those satisfying preparation-measurement reciprocity must allow indeterminism comparable to that in quantum theory. Our result implies that one can design quantum random number generator, for which it is impossible, even in principle, to construct a reciprocal deterministic model.  相似文献

A new series of 2-(coumarin-3-yl)-5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazoles based on various aryl thiourea/ureas incorporating a 1,3,5-s-triazine moiety is reported. The components of this series have been obtained by the reaction of cyanuric chloride (1) with 2-(coumarin-3-yl)-5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazole (2). The prepared 2-{(coumarin-3-yl-1,3,4-oxadiazolyl)-5-thio}-4,6-dichloro-s-triazine (3) was subsequently treated with morpholine (4) to form 2-{(coumarin-3-yl-1,3,4-oxadiazolyl)-5-thio}-4-(morpholino)-6-chloro-s-triazine (5). This was further treated with various substituted aryl urea/thioureas (6a–k/7a–k) to afford the title compounds 8a–k and 9a–k, which were and tested for their antibacterial activity (MIC) against different microorganisms. The structures of the novel synthesized compound have been established on the basis of 1H NMR and FT-IR data together with elemental analysis.

A new phenanthroindolizidine alkaloid, 3-O-demethyl tylophorinidine (VI), was isolated from the aerial (leaves and stem) parts of Tylophora indica and characterized using different spectral techniques. Gel chromatography and reverse phase preparative HPLC were used for sample purification. The new alkaloid, VI, was screened for anticancer activity against a panel of different cancer cell lines and it showed significant anticancer activity with IC50 value in the range of 0.89?C1.40 ??M.  相似文献
